Does gallipoli overshadow kokoda?

Although popular belief is that Gallipoli is better than Kokoda, many like me and lachy and Amelia disagree. Gallipoli was half way across the globe and kokoda was much closer to home and Australia and an imminent invasion threat. Gallipoli was also a stupid failure while kokoda was a legend. As i like to say Gallipoli made Australia, Kokoda saved Australia.

How are army helmets made partically world war 2 M1 helmets?

Most WW2 era helmets are made by a drop hammer forge. A plate of steel is laid over a form and a heavy hammer pounds it into the shape of the template. The M1 helmet has a thin metal seam formed around the edge so that it will not be sharp. The fitting for the chin strap is welded on.

Most helmets of other countries are made in similar fashion. Of course the German helmet is thicker steel as it does not have a liner.

The French Adrian helmet is made of 3 pieces that are formed and welded together.

Is there a gold US quarter?

Well I have two but don't know if they are gold plated or actually gold. I have herd [sic] of special edition quarters that were only made at the turning of the millennium

CorrectionThere were no special-edition US quarters minted to mark the end of the millennium in 2000*. All US quarters dated 1999 to 2009 were struck with designs honoring US states, territories, and possessions.

Gold-plated quarters aren't produced by the Mint. Many private companies plated these 1999-2009 coins with a thin layer of gold and sold them as "special collectibles". Sometimes a person will accidentally spend one of them and the person who gets the coin will think they've received a "gold" quarter in change.

In reality an individual plated quarter only has a few micrograms of gold on it and has no added value. There are niche collectors who will pay extra for a complete set of these coins in their original holder, though.

(*) According to thousands of calendar experts, the year 2000 marks the end of the second millennium because there was never a Year 0. The first millennium went from 1 to 1000, the second from 1001 to 2000, and so on.
