Go to google and type in (for example) "unblock myspace" and it will take you to the type of website I'm talking about.

Shale is formed as a result of many processes. Bondi is arguably the most famous beach in Australia, definitely Sydney. As far as surfing goes it is pretty good for waves, but very crowded.

The surf is pretty comparable all up the New South Wales coast. There are also some great breaks further south around Victoria and South Australia. The west coast is also great if you want to get off the beaten path. Like most things in life, it is what you are looking for. If you want surfing lessons, some of the Sydney beaches are great places for lessons. If you are experienced some of the beaches outside Sydney up the coast are great to get away from the crowds.

* Bondi Beach is just very famous. However, as previously mentioned in the answer for this question - it is EXTREMELY crowded and you know what this means if you want to surf. Don't just rely on it because it is the most widely used name when discussing available places and beaches to spend your vacation on.

If you are looking for a silent, clean and less crowded place to enjoy surfing and totally dedicate yourself to this particular activity and hobby then avoid Bondi Beach.
