You start out with a rubber band, then you take your index finger and, after stretching it, twist the rubber band around it by wrapping it around the finger and turning it upside down and repeat until it feels secure, next, simply roll it off the finger with your other index finger and thumb, then you just start wrapping other rubber bands around it until it gets big enough.
