How do i replace the water pump in a 98 buick centry?
I'm guessing it's a 3.1 liter? First you must break loose the water pump pulley bolts. The pully is located underneath the belt routing guide. Don't remove the bolts, just break them loose while you still have the tension of the belt to keep the pully from rotating. Then using a 3/8th drive ratchet with enough leverage, remove the tension of the belt at the belt tensioner. Remove the belt. Remove the water pump pulley. Drain cooling system. Remove the 5 water pump bolts and mark posistion of water pump. Remove water pump and clean gasket surface on the engine. Check to make sure the gasket is in the right posistion on the new water pump(all holes must be perfectly alligned on gasket and pump. May take several different attempts to find right allignment. Install water pump onto engine and start each bolt before tightening them. Tighten bolts in a star pattern as you would do for tightening down wheel lug nuts. I'm not sure of the exact torque but if you use a short 1/4" ratchet and snug them down you will be okay. install water pump pulley. install belt and fill with coolant.

What would cause a 1998 Buick Century to heat up even after the thermostat was changed?
I am guessing you mean overheat. To "heat up" is normal. We want the car to heat up, but to go any higher than about 225 degrees would be to overheat, and that would be bad. If that is what you mean, then there are a number of things that could be causing it. It could be as simple as to high of a concentration of anti-freeze to water mixture(should be a bout 50%), to something as costlty as a blown head gasket. The water pump could have the impellers rusted off and not pumping, the radiator could be stopped up, there could be air trapped i the cooling system, there could be an obstruction to air flow in front of the radiator like leaves trapped in front of it, the cooling fan may not be working, even the thermostat you installed could be defective or installed backwards. It boils down to this: You either have a coolant flow or an air flow problem. (I am including the blown headgasket in the coolant flow catagory) As simple way to narrow it down is when then car is running hot, put your hand on the radiator. If the radiator is hot, then you probably have an air flow problem, see if the fan is working, or there are leaves in front of the radiator. If the radiator is cold, then you have a coolant flow problem, something is keeping coolant from flowwing into the radiator. (water pump, ai in the system, stopped up radiator, etc)

Why does your 92 buick century stall when you apply brakes?
If it stalls when you drive then hit the brakes, and then restarts, it could be the TCC (torque converter clutch) solenoid. If it sticks closed, the clutch will remain engaged when coming to a stop and will stall the engine. Could also be a faulty EGR valve. Both are fairly easy fixes...get a Haynes manual, they'll walk you right through em.

Where is the oil filter located on a 2003 Saturn Vue 4 cylinder?
There is a 1 1/4" black hexagon nut (cap) on the front of the engine, in front of the injectors, right of center when facing the windshield and under the hood. The oil filter is in there, under that screw in cap. Cartridge filter, not a spin on. Look for the big 1 1/4' nut. You'll need an extension and a 1 1/4" socket on an extension to clear the other braces and parafinalia. Easy to do with the proper tool. Don't over tighten it.
