What is the quad driver module?

When hooking up a scan-tool to my girlfriend's daughter's 93 SC2 DOHC, I get a Quad Driver Module 1 Fault. I can clear the code, but it will return next time the engine is started. Most technical literature I have been able to get my hands on identifies a quad driver (there are apparently 2 or 4 of them) as a component internal to the PCM which is used to energize various relays and solenoids in the system The QDM is internal Pcm and contorls various components from check engine light to cooling fan to EGR soenoid and pugre solenoid. If it comes on as soon as you start the car most likely the EVAP purge solenoid is the fault. Rather than guess take it to the dealer spend 40$ and get them to do a QDM test this will tell you which component is failing and save the guess.

How do you replace the battery terminals for 97 Buick LaSabre?

Remove the old terminals, a large pair of bolt cutters or a hacksaw should get the job done.

Strip the ends of the wires with a knife and check for corrosion which will be black or green.

If there is corrosion you need to replace the cables.

If there is no corrosion replace terminals with screw on type for convenience or use solder on type if you prefer.

For screw on just put the cable in the terminal and tighten the screws.

For solder on you will need to to hold the terminal in vice grips and heat it with a torch and feed solder into the terminal while the terminal is hot. When the terminal is mostly full slowly dip the cable into the solder and hold there while you remove the heat. You now need to hold the cable perfectly still in the solder for about a minute or the solder will crack while drying and you will have a poor connection.

Reconnect terminals.

Where is the fuel filter located on a 95 Buick LeSabre?

The location was on the Pass. side directly in front of the rear tire along the inside of the frame (if you could call it that) rail. It is fairly large with a conventional screw-in line closest to the engine and a quick disconnect line on the other. You can replace it without having to jack the car up, but have your new filter ready to install as you will lose some gasoline when you disconnect the lines. '94 model.

If you installed a CD player in a 1988 Buick LeSabre and now the dash lights and the tail lights do not work how do you fix this?

Stereo systems obviously have illumination lights in them. Sometimes they will route these illumination wires to an area of the fuse panel which seems to affect the park lights, guage lights, etc. If the illumination wire(s) has touch an area of grounded metal, or another wire while installation, the problem is most likely a blown fuse. I hope you get this problem fixed. Good luck.

Same thing happened to my 97 buick Lesabre, I had to have mine replaced. Senor was was higher than outside temp so the a/c was not coooling the car. Sorry i can't tell you how to replace but it was not very expensive.

How can you open the trunk without your keys?

Park Avenue has a remote trunk release. Owner's manual. This button should be located in the glove box of your car. There are probably 2 buttons, the smaller one is for the gas cap and the big one is for the trunk. Hope that helps. Mine's a 92', and the trunk release button won't work unless the ignition is switched to power, so unfortunanetly you need a key either way.

How do you get the back seat out of a '93 Nissan Maxima?

You have to remove the 2 bolts from the floor and 2 from high on each side of the seat backs. The tricky part is then you have to put the armrest down and look for 2 small plastic caps covering bolts that are sometimes tough to get out. Then the seat should come out.

1997 buick lesabre limited - HVAC blower intermittently runs so is this a relay problem and where can I get a diagram?

The relays for the blower are under the hood, near the top of the firewall on the passengers side. You will need to remove the plastic "fuse cover" to access them below the fuses. Replace them one at a time to see if this fixes the problem. If the blower is running intermetantly, then you may find you have to replace the blower motor (I needed to do this on my car $45). In order to do this you'll have to remove a bracket and several other lines in front of the blower motor to get enough clearance. If it works only at certain fan speeds then also check the blower resister located under the relays.

Buick Lesabre 2004. Makes clicking noise from passanger side by front tire. Can be heard up to 40 mph not when turning or when brake is applied. Actually stops clicking as soon as i apply the brake.?

My best guess is that you have a slightly warped disk rotor on whichever side is causing the clicking. When the rotor is warped, its rotation bumps it up against the brake caliper(s) causing a clicking sound. If that's what it is - it's not dangerous unless you've noticed a significant loss of braking power. When you replace your front bakes eventually, they'll resurface (or flatten out) your rotors if they can or they'll replace them.

How do you program a keyless entry fob on a 1997 buick le saber?

If the battery has gone dead and you are trying to resynchronize it with your car, all you'll need to do is get within 15 feet of your car and hit the alarm (if installed and stock) button. If the alarm goes off, then you are ready to synchronize. If not try replacing the battery or blowing some dirt off the circuit board, that kind of stuff. To resychronize this just hold the lock and unlock buttons together for 15-30 seconds. You may need to try this a few times as the process is sort of finicky. After it is complete your horn will beep and your all set!
