Does the hood from a 97 park avenue fit a 97 lesabre?

No, The body style changed for both the lesabre and the park ave both years but while the Park Avenue's design was more bulky, the LeSabre was almost the same as before.. up until 2000 then the Lesabre's styling caught up with the Park Avenue.

The Park Avenue and Lesabre were discontinued in 2005 The LaCrosse and Lucerne took their place pretty much..

My opinion is the 91-96 Park Ave/92-96 LeSabre looked the best ...and the front ends were interchangeable.

How do you fix a stall on a 2001 buick lesabre?

same question. V6. Just replaced spark - plugs. Nothing helps... On a hot day it gets into "the zone"... near idling at 30 - 40 miles / hr on a perfectly level road and get stalled when you push a pedal to get a bit faster or to keep steady speed when road gets a bit up - hill.

Mind you its steering wheel is tricky to turn once the servo is not helping and the brakes? Have you ever tried to stop a car running down the slope without assisted breaks? It's like jumping in front of it and trying to push it back, imaging doing it when car runs 40 miles / hr...

How do you reset change oil soon light on 1997 LeSabre?

This is straight from the owners manual, turn key to "on" position but not "run" position. Open glove box and on the left side of glove is the reset button,as well as the truck on/off button.Press and hold the oil reset button for 5-6 seconds. this will reset the change oil indicator for approx 3000 miles. On my 1997 LeSabre, there is a switch in the glove box that permits one to reset (turn-off) the change oil light by holding it down about 3 to 5 seconds.

2002 Buick Lesabre The speedometer doesnt read the right speed it says 80 when you know Im doing 55 mph?

1st check the speed sensor on the transmisson. Next, the Dash cluster itself must read the signal from the speed sensor. The Dash cluster may have to be replaced. 3rd, could be the car's internal computer.

Start at the speed sensor and work way through the system My wife's car was reading like this and she had inadvertently switched to to the metric system readout.

How do you reset the low tire pressure indicator on a 2000 Buick LeSabre?

I'm assuming that you have what is know as a "driver information center", (DIC). On page 6-44 of the owners manual they warn you to make sure that your tire pressure is good before reseting. Turn ignition switch to "Run" or on. Press the "Gauge Info" button until "Tire Pressure" appears in display. Press & hold "DIC Reset" for about five seconds. A message reporting "Tire Pressure Reset" should appear in the display. The manual recomends that if this procedure doesn't work, try it again. If that doesn't do it there could be a problem with the system. After letting go of the DIC Reset button "Tire Pressure Normal" should show up. The process is not complete. The car has to finish the job by it's self. The manual states that it can take any where from 45 to 90 minutes of drive time.

How can you repair a warped dashboard in a 99 Ford Contour SE and how much would the dealer charge?

I have it to ! you can get a kit from the dealer for 50 bucks and spend 4 hours taking the whole thing off and putting it back on or pay a mechanic 150 bucks an hour to do it for you i just ignore mine not worth the troubleI think I have the same problem. Over time, the top of the Contour's dash board has warped, causing the plastic grill that directs the blower air to pop out. The dealership said the entire dashboard had to be replaced and it would cost well over $1000. As an alternative, they suggested forcing the plastic grill back into place, then using epoxy to hold it in position. However, they would not do this work. I would be on my own. I haven't tried it yet, because I don't think it will work.

I had the same problem with my 99 Contour SE. I had the entire dash replaced in 2002 (dealership did it for free). Two years later (June 2004) it has happened again. I just got a quote from the dealership today. To replace dashboard again plus labor is about $375.00. I've seen this topic come up on other Ford Contour forums, seems to be a common problem. Otherwise I love my car. Good luck!

I Too have the same problem with my '99 Contour SE. Another friend of mine with an older Ford Taurus had a similar problem as well, and he predrilled some holes and eventually had to screw down the Dashboard, without replacing it. The problem with the Contour however is that space is so tight between the windshield and top part of the dash that its nearly impossible to work in there without taking off the windshield. My dashboard has been a problem for close to 2 years now, and I think I'm going to finally try and do what my friend did, and screw down the dash, however it doesn't look like it will be easy to do.

I had the same problem in 2001 and now again in 2004. My dealer fixed it the first time but now tells me that with Ford it is a one time fix and I am out of luck and on my own. I plan to use epoxy as a temp fix until I can get some answers from Ford or the dealer. Good luck to you.

I also have a Ford Contour 1999 that has the dash warping. The air vent is also popping out. I had the dealer replace it in 2001 and it still did it again. I did a little research on it and this is the only car that doesnt have the dash clips on it. (looks like a really strange looking paper clip.) I figured that If I used epoxy (one rated for high temps) that this would work. MMMM no! What I did do though is a found a really large surenge and mixed my epoxy and then added it to it (it keeps the mess down) I then inserted the exoxy as far under the dash (through the air vent cover once it was removed) as I far could get it. I then found some (you going to laugh) some small hurricane reienforcement brackets (strong metal that doesnt cost alot, and will not bed by hand easily). Found some that had the same size and width as the defroster vents just cut to fit. to just fit in the dash knotches on both sides(not the cover look inside the dash air vent) and used black zip ties to secure the dash to the vents and stuffed towels to push the dash down long enough for the epoxy to cure (longer cure more set up time about 24 hour cure time). I let my care sit for a day or two and then put the air vent cover back on. I think the trick is the type of glue. It took me about $30 for all the parts and epoxy and some of my time about two hours. I havent had really any problems as of yet. I don't recommend this to eveyone though.

I too had the same problem, it is a faulty part. I have had it replaced twice (free under MW). They know it's a problem, and don't wan't to admit it, but when I pressed the issue, they replace it both times at no cost to me.

I had the problem also. I tried to repair it but the dash material was so stiff I coildn't hold it down and try to snap the vent in at the same time. A stone just append to crack the windshield. I made an appointment to have it replaced and ask the glass shop to call me when they had the old windshield out so I cound come over and try to fix it with the windshield out. They were kind enough to do that so I went over and glued the dash down with a spray adhesive and then was able to screw down the grill. My advice is to follow a gravel truck!

at one time ford had a recall on them

New HeadlineSame problem with my '99 Ford Contour SE. In the course of a single hot Stockton day, my dash curled up so bad the defroster now barely works. I had to remove the plastic grill over the vents because it got caught in my steering wheel during a turn. Ford did a good job with this car, but they screwed up royally with this part. It could have killed me. My plan is to douse it in vinyl conditioner and then heat it with a hair dryer to see if it becomes soft enough to epoxy back down. I doubt this will work though because the space is so tight.

I had the same problem with my '00 Contour. I lived with it for about 18 mos., but it was a bear on cold winter nights when the defrosters didn't hit the wind shield directly in front of the driver.

Just fixed it yesterday by drilling holes 6 in. apart across the whole dash, about 1/2 in. back from the front lip. Then we heated a finish nail to red hot with a torch. Holding the dash down tight we put the finish nail (held in a vice grips) down through the hole we drilled and melted a pilot hole in the hard plastic plate under the dash. We then put a self-drilling screw through the dash and the pilot hole and drilled it in with a 1/4 in. rachet (the only thing we could get in the tight space.)

Once we had screwed the whole dash down, we zip-tied the plastic grill back.

Not the prettiest job (you'll see the screws), but I have another 6 in. of visibility now and the defrosters will work in the winter again. Good luck!

My 1999 Contour SE had the same problem. It is a great little car and is now 10 years old with only 32k. I asked the dealership and they referred me to a car upholsterer but it was obvious that re-glueing had been tried before. My neighbor has the same car and the dashboards look like twins! They are badly peeled back and the defroster vents are hidden. We live in Florida thank goodness. I decided the easiest way to deal with it now it to trim off the excess vinyl and cover the dash with a custom cover. Who's going to look under there anyway?

How do you change a tail light on 2001 buick?

What could be the problem if a Buick Park Avenue with 75K miles changes from 1st to 2nd roughly?

CHECK THE TRANSMISSION FILTER FIRST AND THEN CHECK THE MODULATOR

AnswerSounds like the transmission needs servicing. Loose bands cause this condition. AnswerCould be a loose or twisted motor mount too. Have you had the water pump serviced lately? Unskilled repair people loosen the mounts and then they twist when he transmission shifts or when you first accelerate..

Good luck!

AnswerFirst thing you should do is check level and condition of your tranny fluid. AnswerCheck the trans fluid, mine leaked out of the front return line because it was rusted through, I did not catch it till it was too late. 900$ vs 6.00$ hmmm AnswerIF YOU HAVE CHECK ALL THE TIPS ABOVE THAT ARE GOOD TIPS CHECK FOR VACUM LEAKS CAN MAME TRANSMISSION SHIFT ROUGH OR CHECK THE DETENT CABLE MITE BE OUT OF AJUSTMENT WOULD BE MY QUEST ,THE WAY YOU CHECK IT IS BY YOUR THROTTLE CABLE UNDER THE HOOD WHERE HOOKS UP TO CARB OR THROTTLE BODY THE DETENT IS HOOK UP IN THE SAME WAY BUT THE CABLE GOES TO THE TRANS ,SO WHEN PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL IT PULLS THE DETENT CABLE AND BEING AJUSTABLE MAKES IT SHIFT SMOOTH OR HARD

SPARK PLUGS NEED CHANGED. I had the same problem. it will run like new. super smooth.

sorry, but i had to create acct to anwer this ?. i have a 97 PA which had the same problem from 40K miles to 90K miles. the problem is the PCS solenoid (pressure control solenoid). had it changed and solved the problem immediately. quite common for 1997 to 2000 PA's. anyways, having same problem again with 200K miles on car now. will have to replace solenoid again. about $600 job, so be prepared.

What would cause your 1994 Buick LeSabre to cut off while you are driving it?

I had the same problem with my 1988 Oldsmobile Delta 88. Replaced fuel pump and Ignition control module. So far, there is no cut off. You probably have no good Igition module.

same thing happened to my 94 LeSabre. It happened from time to time with no "Service Engine Soon" indication. Eventually I got the indication, it was the EGR valve.

Does it start right back up when ever it cuts off? check the battery terminals first, jiggle them while the engine is running if that didn't afect the engine, it sounds like the throttle position sensor is faulty. change it.

How do you install power window motor on a 2001 Buick lesabre?

Tools required

10 mm socket and 3" extension

#2 Phillips screwdriver

putty knife

wire cutter

door panel removal tool - available from any auto parts store

straight blade screwdriver

Estimated time to replace 1 1/2 to 2 hours

Cost of new actuator AND motor - $50 on eBay - 11/07

This procedure assumes a rear door motor and lift mechanism will be installed.

1 - remove trim piece from around the door handle by prying it out along the top and front edges. Once loosened, it comes unhinged from the back edge.

2 - remove the Phillips head screw from metal bracker, that is revealed after removing the trim piece

3 - pry the inside light assembly from the door panel and remove the bulb socket from the housing

4 - pry the door panel from the frame using a panel removal tool by starting at the bottom (this GM design is greatly improved from the old assembly system - ie: 94 Chevy Caprice) and releasing the 7 plastic studs from the frame.

5 - Remove the 2 mounting bolts for the rear door controller and disconnect the cables.

6 - use a putty knife and door removal tool to remove the plastic vapor barrier.

7 - reach inside the door and locate the cable that is attached to the bottom of the lift mechanism and then cut it.

8 - push the window glass to the full UP position (this will locate it horizonally and vertically) and tape it in place.

9 - near the top of the sheet metal there will be 2 openings (1 square and 1 round). When the glass is in the full up position, there will be (2) 10 mm bolts in view. Loosen these bolts which will open the rubber coated clamps on the bottom of the glass. The lift mechanism will free fall to the bottom position when these bolts are loose.

10 - remove the window lift motor plug and (3) 10 mm nuts that hold the lift mechanism in place and remove through the opening at the front of the inner door sheet metal. It will take a little bit of turning and twisting to remove the unit.

11 - loosen (do not remove) the 2 bolts for the window clamps on the new unit before installing.

12 - make sure the new unit is not in the full up position before installing.

13 - install the new lift mechanism in the door and tighten the (3) 10 mm mounting nuts.

14 - connect the power plug into the new lift motor

15 - temporarily connect the rear door controller, turn on the ignition and slowly raise the new lift mechanism using the window up switch on the driver's door.

16 - when the lift is in the full up position, tighten the window glass clamps using the same access holes as when you removed the glass clamps.

17 - slowly cycle the window down and up to make sure it doesn't bind

18 - disconnect the read door controller and reverse the process for assembly

19 - make sure the rear door light socket and bulb are not trapped behind the plastic.
