It's behind the headlight switch inside the dash. You can get to it by popping the headlight switch out with a screwdriver (carefully). Sometimes the headlight switch is stubborn and won't release. Do not damage the dash trying to get the switch cube out because you can also get to it by removing the cover underneath the steering column and reaching up in there. sometimes it's surrounded by a piece of black foam. It's just a square plastic cube thing up in there and it's not always easy to find but it's in there. As you reach up there, feel toward the driver's side. If you are able to get the headlight switch out, look and feel to your right and kind of down. If it hasn't been messed with before, its plug is clipped onto a metal bracket immediately to the right and below the headlight switch and close to the outer panel of the dash.

Buy 2 cans of fuel system cleaner and pour it in the tank with a full tank of gasoline. I use Sea Foam or Berrymans B12. I prefer the former after being a user of the Berrymans for years. You can purchase it as most any parts house and also at Wal-mart for best price I've seen lately. Also buy a large can of Carberator cleaner/starter fluid (GumOUT) and clean the exterior real well. be sure to wipe up any left overs so as not to start a fire. Let it breath for a while so vapors evaporate. Change the fuel filter. This is a must. Easy to get to under the car, or have the mechanic replace it. You will need a set of car ramps or a lift. If using a hydraulic jack put jack stands under it. Don't us concrete blocks like rednecks do. They can kill you!

There are no spark plug wires on the 2000-up Northstar engines. They use coil on plug design. First remove the engine service cover.(The Pretty plastic peice that has the Cadillac symbol on it) Then disconnect the coil connector which sits to the right of the coil and should just snap off by hand. Next If you remove the screws that holds the coil pack (8 screws) to the top of the cam covers, you will see 4 black round rubber boots that sit on top of the plugs. Pull the boots free to expose the plugs. The tops of the spark plugs sit directly underneath.
