How do you bypass the fuel cutoff switch in a 1994 Ford Escort?
To do that would compromise your safety, and of anyone else in the area, if you have a wreck. The purpose is to cutoff the fuel pump if you have a wreck, so fuel is not spewing out all over the pavement. On an Escort, it also locks the automatic seat belts down, if you have them, so you stay in the seat if the door flies open during a wreck.
Blazer stalls while driving and reaches normal temp?
If it is a newer model (no distributor) then it sounds like the Ignition Control pack is bad. If it is older (with a distributor) then replace the Ignition coil inside the distributor cap.

How do you change brake light switch on a 97 Chevy blazer?
Follow the below steps to replace the Brake Light Switch on Chevy Blazer:
1) Open the Chevy Blazer's driver
door, and move the driver's seat as far back as it will go. Lean under the dashboard with the flashlight, and shine the light on the brake pedal arm to locate the brake pedal switch.
2) Unhook the brake pedal wiring pigtail from the Chevy's brake pedal switch by hand. Unbolt the old brake pedal switch from the mounting bracket using the box wrench set.
3) Remove the old brake pedal switch by hand. Insert the replacement brake pedal switch into the brake pedal bracket. Bolt the switch in place with the box wrench set.
4) Plug the brake wiring pigtail into the replacement brake pedal switch by hand. Readjust the driver's seat, and close the door. Hope this helps.

How do you fix a wiper washer fluid leak near the washer pump on a 1995 Chevy Lumina 3.1L Sedan?
Either replace the hose, or replace the wiper pump grommet. Both are very inexpensive and just about any parts store should have them.
The grommet may not be listed in the store's computer. In that case, check the section with Motormite products. They are in red packages with HELP! written on them in large type.

How do you replace a heated and powered passenger side mirror on a 1998 Chevy Blazer?
For a 98 S-10 Blazer, Tools: #2 Phillips screwdriver, a tool designed for interior door panel removal (a long flat screwdriver will work), metric socket set. 1. Pull back inside door handle, remove Phillips screw holding plastic trim piece on. Pull trim piece out, the right side of trim piece has plastic tab, pull to the left to disengage, rotate trim piece down while pulling out handle to remove. 2. Remove two bolts under arm rest using socket set. 3. Starting at top corner of interior door panel, pry back to release plastic panel clips. Work down and under panel to release clips. Do this carefully trying not to break clips. Lift up slightly after all clips are released to release panel from window slot. 4. Using socket set remove three nuts from bolts holding mirror to door. Pull out cable and unplug 5 pin connector. 5. Reverse directions to install new mirror. I did this in about an hour.
How do you fix a frozen door latch on a 1997 Chevy blazer door won't close after being frozen shut?
I'm having the same difficulty on my 2005 Freestyle. The latch freezes, and when I go to shut the door, it just bounces back open. I have had some success blowing a blow dryer into the latch mechanism. It is only temporary though. It seems that there's some moisture in the mechanism, or some other supply of moisture getting to the mechanism (perhaps some ice frozen in the window seal that's melting, dripping, and refreezing). Some quick internet research has seemed to yield the following steps which I'll try this evening. 1. Eliminate any source of water getting into the door. 2. Blow dry for an extended period of time. Enough to dry the inside of the door out. 3. Check the drain holes at the bottom of the door to ensure that they are open and draining. Good luck.
May require a new ignition barrel. The 106 is known for problems with the ignition barrel. Looking at a bill of 60 - 200 depending on where you go and the type of immobilizer used on the car.

I just had this problem with my 94 taurus. It turned out to be the light switch on the steering column. I am not sure what it is called, but it is the "lever" you use to turn on the brights and blinkers. My hazzard lights were not woking either. I replaced it and all has been good for about a year now. Hope this helps.
Hi,
I have just bought a 97 megane with the same problem. Think I found the answer yesterday... as long as you are confident enough to have a go. I shall be tomorrow. The answer I found is:
The whole job took me just under an hour - bearing in mind I am a computer engineer and not a car mechanic and know nothing about Renaults at all..
To prevent this happening to others I have included a very quick guide of what to do if this happens again. I realise this will not fix all Renault hood problems but should at least be tried first and 1 hour labour should do it…
1) Release hydraulics on hood cover by undoing the small tap located in the boot (under left hand carpet in boot)
2) Pull manual release for boot cover - located in the boot area rear seat compartment (Step 1 and Step 2 better documented in the owners manual)
3) With the Hood nearly closed (but with the back window in the air !) and the hood cover opened - by hand, remove the 2 nuts that hold the rear seat onto the rear bulkhead.
4) Now use a star / torque drive to remove the 4 screws that hold the hood release mechanism onto the rear bulkhead.
5) There is no need to disconnect any cables just remove from the cable clips.
6) The release mechanism can now be viewed easily. Look to re-engage the cam that the emergency release cable is attached to into the metal arm that is driven from the worm gear on the motor.
7) May need to engage small micro switches on the mechanism to get the worm gear to operate (do this very carefully and by holding the switches on while operating the hood from inside the cab. (need 2 people for this) Operate the hood only for short 1-second bursts until the worm gear allows the cam to drop easily back into place.
8) All above sounds complicated but actually when you have the mechanism laying in front of you in the hood storage space area its very straight forward and should take 30 - 40 minutes maximum for someone who has seen it once before.
Apparantly, this sounds more complex than it is... will let you know tomorrow!

Firstly thanks for your answer, it was very helpful. But I had problems getting the worm gear motor to activate, I tried different microswitch setting to no avail. In the end I unplugged the wiring plug, and unclipped the other wiring socket from the latch unit. Remove the unit, and then removed the four torx screws holding the motor to the unit, and carefully pulled the motor away about 5mm. this allowed me to re-engage the arm onto the pin. Finally pushing the motor back in place, and carefully retightening the screws. When refitted the roof operated fine, both down and up,and gave no more problems. cheers Barry.

How do you Replace blazer vanity mirror cover?
The cover and mirror assembly is connected by 2 plastic pins located behind the light lenses and a clip at the bottom. Gently pop off the complete assembly to access the lights or to replace cover. Caution should be used when removing as the mirror is only held in place by the door clips and the bottom plastic trim may easily snap. Pulling the assembly from the sides about 1/3 down from the top should cause the pins to snap out. Re- assembly is easy, simply align pins and apply pressure until the cover snaps in place. Then snap bottom clips in place applying pressure near the bottom of the light lenses. GM wants to sell you a complete visor assembly for $360 but found the parts I needed on line for about $30
