How do you replace the brake power booster on a Chevy G20 1993 van?

First, disconnect your battery.

Under the dash, you'll see the push rod connecting the brake pedal to the booster. This rod is held in place with the plastic switch by a retainer that's very difficult to get to. Get some small hands and some small screw drivers and lift the middle tab of the retainer (far right of the assembly) and it should slide off. Remove the push rod from the pedal.

Now, use a socket and loosen the four lugs holding the booster in the firewall.

Disconnect the vacuum hose under the hood, then disconnect the master cylinder with a socket.

Feed the old one out, pop the new one in, reverse directions.

How do you change ignition switch on a 1989 suburban?

Ignition Switch

Removal & Installation

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the steering column shroud and lower the steering column.

3. Detach the ignition switch electrical hardness connector.

4. Remove 2 nuts retaining the ignition switch to the steering column housing.

5. Lift the ignition switch upward to disengage the actuator rod from the switch and remove the switch.

To install:

> When installing the ignition switch, both the locking mechanism at the top of the column and the switch itself must be in the LOCK position for correct adjustment. To hold the mechanical parts of the column in the LOCK position, move the shift lever into PARK (with automatic transmissions) or REVERSE (with manual transmissions), turn the key to the LOCK position, and remove the key. New replacement switches, when received, are pinned in the LOCK position by a metal shipping pin inserted in a locking hole on the side of the switch.

6. Engage the actuator rod in the ignition switch.

7. Place the ignition switch on the steering column housing and loosely install 2 retaining nuts.

8. Move the switch up or down along the column to locate the mid-position of the actuator rod lash, then tighten the retaining nuts to 47-64 inch. Lbs. (5-7 Nm).

9. Raise the steering column into position at instrument panel. Install steering column shroud.

10. Connect the negative battery cable.

11. Remove the locking pin, connect the battery cable, and verified that the engine will only crank in PARK and NEUTRAL. Also check to make certain the start circuit cannot be actuated in the DRIVE and REVERSE positions.

Does a G20 Chevy conversion van have a catalyst converter?

yes. all unleaded fuel vehicles have a catalytic converter.

How do you fix a sagging vehicle headliner?

The headliner usually sags because the foam layer between the fabric and the hard shell has deteriorated and allowed the fabric to separate and droop. Unfortunately, the fabric cannot be re-glued to the shell, because the crumbly foam just will not hold the weight of the fabric. You need to remove the shell, scrape off all the old foam, and glue a new piece of headliner fabric onto the whole shell. Headliner fabric can be found in many fabric stores, it is fabric and foam glued together. If you are going to attempt this repair at home, make sure the glue you choose will stand up to the high temperature generated by sitting out in the summer sun.

How many mpg does a many van hold?

If you're asking the fuel efficiency of a Dodge van, it depends on a number of factors, including the engine, wheelbase, and driving style.

Shorty van with a 3.9L 3-Speed, maybe 15/19.

Maxivan with a 5.9L 4-speed, maybe 9/13.

I've got the middle ground. It's a 1996 Dodge van, 2500, 5.2L V8, 4-Speed, running synthetic oil and synthetic transmission fluid, 3.55 rear end. On a good day, I'll get 14mpg city, 17.5mpg highway.

How do you repair shift cable on a 1995 Chevy G-20 van free diagram?

My guess is that you unscrew the plastic panel of the dash board below the steering wheel. Then you unscrew the two screws that hold the brace that supports the bottom of the steering wheel. this will allow the steering wheel to fall down a little. Then you reach far under the steering wheel down by the pedals and remove the screws for that other brace that is right at the bottom. there are at least 6 this will allow the steering wheel to lower even more. Then you carefully remove the plastic end of the cable that fits onto the nipple at the steering wheel. Don't ruin it . Don't stretch it any more than you have to.

Then you move forward along the cable and remove the staple like cotter pin thing from that device that the cable runs through. Then you squeeze together the little tabs on the collar of the cable that is rear ( towards you ) of that device, and once they are squeezed feed the cable and collar through the device towards the front of the van. That is as far as i got. Next i would think that you could maybe remove the part of the cable that gets wider, or maybe it will fit throught the firewall. Or maybe just widen the hole in the firewall. then feed it through the area under the hood, and pop that part that attaches to the bulkhead out , and then remove it from the brace it runs through near the trans by removing another staple like cotter pin.then unscrew the screw on the post that comes out of the trans. DON't try to pop off the plastic from the nipple on this end. YOu will ruin it. It will pop off while driving then. just leave the freaking metal arm on it and have the ... Oh wait you want to repair it, so you have to get a new one anyway. So i guess its ok to ruin it. i don't know. i am getting tired of this shit. Also there is some white plastic pin near that brace but i dont think it is worth taking off. i could not find any apparant way of removing the little metal rods from the more flexible portions of the cable. Even after taking that white plastic thing out.
