First make sure that service brakes are adjusted properly

Adjustment should be either under the vehicle at the junction of cables or at the handle itself (may have to remove trim for access) Set handle at 3 clicks and tighten adjusting nut so brake is holding at this point

Drain the radiator into a container. Remove the top radiator hose at the engine. Remove the 2 bolts holding the thermostat housing and remove the thermostat. Clean both surfaces and install the new thermostat. Reinstall the upper radiator hose and the coolant.

Remove the passenger side fender and wheel well. Remove the blower motor wire. Remove the heater hoses. remove the nuts holding the heater box to the firewall. Remove the heater box from the firewall take out the heater core revese this process to replace all removed parts.

ah yes the old lined up linkage problem. Well some of these old cars you had to hook linkage up first then install motor.The other trick was to mount up motor then bump it with 12volts to rotate it to lign up . Good luck on this one. It ain't easy.

The switch is out or you have crossed wires-it's still getting current. Use a test light with switch off on hot wire between switch & motor. If there is current, your switch is bad.
