Where is the EVAP purge vent solenoid located on a 2004 Chevy impala?

We have a 3.8 Supercharged Indy 500 edition SS and it's located under the plastic engine cover on the top of the engine. Remove the plastic nut that holds on the cover with a 1/2" socket. The EVAP solonoid is on top-middle of the engine towards the firewall. You will only need a screwdriver to pop any retainer clips to remove the solonoid. It's a 5 minute job!

>A friend has a 2002 Monte Carlo where his "low tire pressure" warning has >been showing on his dash display. It only happens each time he has the >tires rotated. First time he had the GM dealer reset the light. All tires >are at the same and correct pressure...any ideas?

Yes, this happened to me once. Simply reset the dashboard display after rotating tires. The system works on an imbalanced number of revolutions at the wheel sensor of the ABS. First, make sure that the four tires are identical and have identical pressure. Then reset the display.

Where is the signal flasher for a 2003 Chevy Impala and what does it look like?

On the Impala the flasher is located behind the dashboard, just to the right of the steering wheel. You have to remove the dashboard to get to it. It square and about 2" long. To remove the dash:

- remove the two fuse compartments doors or lids, that are on either end of the dashboard. there are two screws to remove on both sides.

- Remove the kick plate beneath the dash on the passenger side.

- Remove screws beneath the dash on drivers side

- Adjust steering wheel to the full down position

- Move Shift lever all the way down

The flasher on most cars is located around the fuse box under the dash, or attached to the underside of the dash. It is a small round cylindrical Can made of aluminum, or plastic.

  • According to the dealer and the Haynes Manual, the turn signal and emergency flashers are controlled electronically.

To replace the emergency flasher switch, there is no need to remove the front face of the dash. Just use a flat head screwdriver to pop off the top of the flasher switch. Then use needle nose or channel locks to pull remainer of switch out so it can be unplugged and replaced. Plug in new switch, push back into place and you are ready for your turn signals and emergency flashers to work. It takes all of 5 minutes to do this.
