Will 22 inch rims fit on a 1999 Buick Park Avenue without rubbing?
I have a 97 Ford Explorer with 22" rims. My tire size is 285/30R22, and turning the wheel lock to lock it rubs slightly. 22" rims will not fit on a 99 Park Avenue without rubbing. Question, why wouldn't you get 20" rims? That way you still have some space to lower your Buick and tuck the 20's. The problem is that the 22's will fit (but will rub) and it will make your ride 2" higher than a 20 (depending on tire size of course), and leave little to no room for lowering because your wheel well is 'too full' 22" Wheels will fit on a 1999 Buick Park Avenue. As long as you have a high positive offset (FWD) wheel. The tire you will need is made by Nitto Tires, 255/30/22. The total height of this wheel and tire combo is 28.0". The stock wheel and tire combo is 26.6" inches. This is a 1.6" difference, the only thing you might have to do is adjust the plastic liner that is snapped inside your wheel well, you will want to upgrade your brakes though at least to a bigger rotor, maybe cross drilled or slotted. You can't go cheap on the pads, or you will be replacing them every two months. There is more weight, which means more heat and wear caused by increased friction. Here are some more measurements that will be helpful too... 255/30/22=28.0", 285/30/22=28.7", 295/30/22=29.0", 265/35/22=29.3" 255/35/20=27.0". 22's will fit as long as you have the right offset on your wheel and you use the nitto n555 tire mentioned 255/30/22
These sizes fit 255/30/22 or 245/30/22 or 235/30/22 they all fit on buicks from park avenues to lesabre years 95-05 supercharge it if its not already. but the best size is 245/30/22 because its not too much tire not to little tire rides smoother, 235/30/22 is the smallest for a buicks, its thinner and you will feel every bump in the road but neither of the tire rubs.

Can you convert a 1964 Chevy Impala coupe into a super sport?
Yes-----you can Clone the SS providing you have a good 2 dr hard top coupe V-8 chassis to start with
however you will need to do major Modifications through out the car front to rear and top to bottom and get all the right options trim and badges see link below
Try to get a 409 CID @ 400hp that would make it a classic clone . Riverside red with a white vinyl top dark red interior paint with white vinyl seats and red carpet
The 64 SS Impala is highly sought after and is worth bank if kept original but "cloned" SS's are still worth 50% to 80% of the real deal and of course must have the proper options " posi rear axle 4 seasons air conditioner a tach and all the SS trim and floor shift console.. and of course a center rear seat speaker among other choice SS optional items so no matter what engine it has from a 283 CID to a turbo fire 327CID @ 350 bph all the way to the 427 monster big block or the 409 CID it is the grail for most enthusiasts and they even made a few 6 cyl SS models as well believe it or not...it has a very special SS L-6 , made specifically for the Impala
Here is a link to the Specs and options for the 1964 Chevrolet Impala SS

How do you flush the radiator on a 2001 Chevrolet Impala?
i just flushed my radiator on my 2001 impala
if your car hasn't hasn't been flushed in a while, i recommend adding a radiator cleaner and driving a day or 2 to help break-up gunk..
1. remove plastic protector under radiator and fans (5 screws)
2. carefully unscrew butterfly screw under the radiator( very hard to find on this vehicle but it's on the driver side) ( use an adjustable wrench because screw is very tight from factory!)
3. let all coolant drain
4. add new anti-freeze at a 50% to 70% coolant-water ratio depending on average temp in your area.
5. start car with heater on to remove any air from radiator
Flush1. Park the vehicle on a level surface with engine switched off and heater switch turned to on position. Cover the engine to protect it from splashes.2. Take off the radiator cap. Turn tap at bottom of radiator to let water out and disconnect upper and lower radiator hoses.
3. Inspect the condition of the hoses. If they are brittle or soggy replace them with new ones.
4. Inspect the old liquid that comes out of the radiator. If it is clean, that's good. If it's dirty, especially if it's brown with rust, the system needs an extra special flushing. Whatever happens flush the system anyway.
5. Put the water hose into the top of the radiator and let it gently flush through for a while, hopefully until the water runs clean again.
6. Put the hose in the bottom radiator outlet and reverse flush. Then flush from the top again .
7. Flush through the engine cooling jacket to remove any deposits.
8. With a very dirty radiator use a can of radiator flush. This involves putting the hoses back on, topping up with water again, inserting the flush treatment and running the engine for a while to loosen corrosion deposits. Then you empty the radiator again and flush again with a water hose, as previously described.
9. When flushing is completed, close radiator tap, refit hoses and fill radiator with 50/50 mix of the proper coolant and distilled water.
10. Before replacing the radiator cap, check its condition. If it is old or rusted, put a new one on.
11. Bleed the system to remove any trapped air.
How do you replace the thermostat located on a 2001 Chevy Impala?
You have to remove the air filter unit. Take the flexhose off and then you have to remove the breather. That's the only way to get at the bolts. Its a real painbut its the only way. I just did mine. Good Luck!!!
On a 3.8L V6, it is very simple. Follow the upper radiator hose to the manifold just in frontof the throttle body. Loosen the hose clamp, pull the hose off of the "gooseneck". Loosenthe 2 10mm bolts (deep 6 point socket works best). And off it comes! Clean the surfacesand re-install new one.
It also helps to disconnect the 5-6 local sensors so that you can pull the wiring harness out of the way. There is also a vacumm line that you can pull off to help with clearance. Be gentle with the vacumm lines as they become brittle with age and heat over time.
$8-$16 for a new themostat and gasket.
It means the engine didn't warm up to the correct operating temperature. Thermostat is probably stuck open. Replace the thermostat.
