To change the ignition lock cylinder in a 2001 Chevrolet Tracker, first disarm the air bag system. Then remove the clock spring assembly to be able to remove the old ignition lock cylinder and replace with a new.

my hatch handle is broke

on my 02 it was located above the gas tank on the passenger side. its really simple to change you will need ramps or jack stands to keep the truck up, and wear safety goggles because gas will come out of the filter.

Hi, It's under the dash on the drivers side just to the left of the brake, but closer to the front. Just look for a plug-in that matches the obd reader plug. This sensor is located on the back side of the airbox. The airbox is the place your air filter is located. Looking at the engine, its the black plastic box on the left side with a big hose that goes to the top of the engine. There are 4 clips around the sides of the box that allows you to get to the air filter. The AIT is plugged into the top (the cover) on the back left side. Press on the plastic clip on top of the AIT and it will pull out :).

My Manual says to get the info off the drivers side post. No other info .Sorry Regards HHH

1999 and newer Chevy trackers don't have a timing belt, they have a timing chain and i was told by my mechanic that it shouldn't need changed at any specific mileage interval.

Depends on where you live but I would expect anywhere between 750 and 1500 depending on the shop and the parts. The water pump commonly gets replaced at this juncture as well. Consider that most often the car will blue book at 2000 if you're lucky.

Yes the computer did work

The first thing to check is the switch. You can check it with a multimeter device with a continuity checker or ohm meter. The switch is usually on the door handle and in most cars it is held on by one screw. Remove the screw then slide the door handle either forward or backward then pull out. This will expose the wire harness to the switch. Disconnect it and remove the switch to test.

Also you can just run a hot and ground wire off a 12 V battery directly to the connect points where the switch plugged into the wire harness. If the problem was in the switch this will bypass it and open your door locks once you touch both the hot and ground wire to the contact points. There will be one common ground contact point and two hot contact points. One hot is for locking and the other is for unlocking. Touch the negative wire off your battery to the common ground then touch the hot wire off your battery to each of the other two contacts separately to see if both are working.

If the switch is working then the problem may be a disconnected wire harness, a shorted wire, a broken wire (open circuit) or faulty door lock actuators. To fix you must determine the source of failure then repair or replace what's needed.

Go to a parts store and pick up a glue kit made just for that; Follow the directions. MAKE SURE you glue that mounting plate on the right way---with smaller part of bevel to the glass!

You don't technically have to FULLY drain the radiator, some say its easier but for me its just more anti-freeze to buy. First drain the radiator so you have around 3-4inches gone from the top, this is so when you take the thermostat housing off it water doesn't flow everywhere.

Next unbolt the thermstat housing and the pipe that connects it, set the metal hosing aside and remove the thermostat. Make sure all area's are clean of old gasket beforehand, as even a small piece can cause some problems regarding leakage. Next is place the thermostat into the hole that you removed the old one from, be sure that the pressure relief (small brass tab on the thermostat) is facing the engine, then replace with new gasket/seals and bolt the housing back into place along with radiator pipes.

Fill radiator with anti-freeze (you won't use much if you didn't full drain the radiator, and after that you're good to go.

Yes, the 2001 ignition switch for a 2000 Chevrolet Tracker will fit just fine. Other years the switch fits are 1999 to 2004.

96 has no 8v so you crossed in to gen 2 cars from gen 3 so makes answer real hard.

but you can move a 1.6L 16v 94 block to a 1995 car

if you swap the pan and oil pump and keep your ckp sensor on your, pump.

ecu's vary by a vast number of things, even California types.

yes, the Chevy tracker is a very good and reliable car I have never had a problems with it and its nine years old! its also a good car because it is very fuel officiant and its very stylish. if you are planing on getting one, good choice! =)
