They screw in from the rear. If you can't get to it you may have to take the light assy off.

The long way is the best way: You will need a medium Phillips screwdriver at minimum. A battery screwdriver/drill makes it faster. Needle nose pliers might help to resolve problems. There is no need to open the hood. Procedure:

1. From the orange side lamp take out the two screws hold it in, pull lamp away from frame. 2. Remove frame by taking out four screws, 1/near the grill in front, 2,3/ from the opening made by removing the side lamp, 4/the last from the bottom of the frame near the bumper. 3. Pull frame away exposing headlight. Remove four screws holding the bezel (thin metal frame around the headlight). 4. DO NOT turn the two adjustment screws, one on top in the middle between the two bezel screws, or the one the outer side. 5. The headlight then can be pulled away and disconnected. Connect new headlight. You may need to bend one or two of the three prongs to make it fit. Fit bezel to headlight, secure with four screws. Secure frame with three screws. Secure orange side lamp with two screws.

Problems: Screws may be rusted in place or break. Screws are easy to lose, put them in a container or other good place.

EMERGENCY METHOD:

With a Phillips screwdriver undo only the two bottom screws on the bezel and carefully remove and secure them. Bend bezel upwards and away enough to remove headlight. Replace headlight. TRICKY part: You will definitely lose the two bezel screws UNLESS you stuff a paper towel or similar in the space below the holes to catch the screws if you miss getting it in. It would be best at this point to wait until you can do the full procedure at another time.

First of all, be sure to check for a blown fuse. Then, you will have to pull the ashtray and expose the lighter charging coil, which is the round metal piece that the actual lighter rests in. Disconnect your battery, and then disconnect the wiring harness clip from the back of your lighter, then you twist the lighter counterclockwise to unseat it for removal. Installation is the reversal of these steps.

In the fuse panel located on the drivers end of the dash ( the removable plastic fuse panel cover is visible with the drivers door open ) fuse # 29 is a 15 amp fuse for the radio , and fuse #20 is a 7.5 amp fuse for the radio , RAP module and GEM

Get a fuse tester test it on the inside of the plug itself of it lights up theirs current so you might just have to replace the plug entirely

Just listen to what they are asking. If they ask you for a light, light it for them. If they ask you for a lighter or a match hand them your lighter.

The fuse for a 2001 Saturn L200 cigarette lighter is found in the cabin fuse box. The fuse is labeled as CIG.

Just inside the driver's side door, under the console. A very uncomfortable reach, because you really have to be laying on your back on the floor of the driver's side to see it.

I have a '94 shadow that blew the lighter fuse which took out the radio as well. Changing the fuse seemed to help the lighter but the radio still does not work. My guess is that the ground is bad. In your case that may be as well. A way to check is to find an alternate ground, Door Screws, etc. and test the lighter independently for power. If it has power that way then it is definitely a ground problem. As these have plastic dash boards, nothing will work if it is not properly grounded to the chasis at nearly every point. I don't know if this would help, but maybe. I just had the same problem on my 1996 Rivera. In my case, there are two main fuse boxes located under the back seat. On your model they may be located somewhere else. AT any rate, I replaced the 30 AMP fuse in one of the boxes and my cigarette lighter started working again. The funny thing is I went to ALLdata & subscribed for $25 per year, well worth it, to get the fuse layout & callouts. My situation was the pwr fuel cap actuator & the trunk release actuator, would not operate, so I couldn't put in gas or open the trunk, as this operated from the door handle console. Once I replaced this fuse, the situation was every thing worked including my cigarette light. Of all the callouts on the fuses, not one called out for "cigarette lighter" Gil Raker

on the 01 spectras the fuse is located in the drivers side kick panel by the floor

There is a fuse cabin below the steering wheel on the left. Open it and inside the lid has the details of all fuses. Also check your Owners manual.

I wish someone would answer. I have the same problem. All three outlets dead.
