Hi there, follow your clutch cable from the lever going downward, when you see a rubber protection sleeve, you are at the adjuster bolts. first you must push the rubber protection sleeve to get to your hardware, then you unscrew the locking nut and start turning the adjusting bolt the desired tension!! you will need two open end 1/2'' wrenches to perform this task. good luck.

There is a lot to consider when swapping transmissions as far as performance is concerned. However changing from an automatic transmission to a manual transmission will typically improve the efficiency of your drive train. You lose power with a torque converter, because it's constantly "slipping" in order to drive the transmission's input shaft. General rule of thumb for older makes is that with an automatic you'll have lost about 20% of your engines output by the time it reaches the pavement, and with a manual you will only loose about 10%.

NOTE: Newer automatic transmissions have been built to be much more efficient than I am reflecting here.

There are many parts involved and lots of labor hours. Having a standard shift car like yours for parts would be best if you want to give it a go. It would be easier and cheaper to just buy a good standard shift car of your choice and drive it.

Try soaking in WD-40 If that does not work try heat. But First and foremost are you going the right way. Buy the new Fan clutch and look at the threads to see how they are going. Or if you sit in front of the hood you should be going towards the passenger side as you take it of. There's two or more different fan clutches for this model. These are instructions for the fan clutch that has a pressed on pulley. use an adjustable spanner wrench with 5/16 dowells to keep the pulley from turning as you break it loose.

The clutch master cylinder is fed through a hose from the brake master cylinder reservoir. It is located on the firewall under the hood directly in front of the steering wheel, under the wiper motor.

Clutch, Pressure plate and throw out bearing should run less than 100 $ for parts, I would guess around 80$ or so. I do all my own work so I can only take a shot in the dark at it but expect around 40 an hour and 3 to 4 hours so I would guess 400 to 500 bucks. clutch jobs are fairly simple to do. Just a lot of hassle because the tranny is fairly heavy and some of the bolts are hard to get at

It will probably cost near $800.00. I am from Oklahoma and that is how much the clutch and tow came out to be three years ago. Now make sure who you take the truck to someone who knows what he is doing. my truck is in the shop again getting the transmission rebuilt due to the clutch plate was not put on right.

If the fan clutch goes bad then your cooling fan attached to the motor spins freely and will not cool the engine properly. Not sure if a cavalier would have one because usually only cars with V8 engines have the fan mounted to the engine. And all cavaliers I have ever seen have electric fans mounted directly to the radiator. Hope that helps.

BEFOR TAKING THE BELT OFF, GET A BIG WRENCH THAT FITS THE FAN, AND A BIG RUBBER HAMMER. IT'S A LEFT HAND THREAD. PUT THE WRENCH ON AND HIT IT WITH THE HAMMER.

This begs the question of why the fluid is foamimg in the first place. More specifics are needed. What fluid?

i just replaced mine when i was changing out my motor and at oriellys auto it was around 200 dollars almost even

if its a tdi/tddi/tdci though,youre looking at $600 for decent clutch kit. new dmf as well will double it. go for sachs or LUK

Down on the passenger side of the bell housing there is a cylinder looks a lot like a brake master cylinder this pushes the rod that engages the clutch have someone push the clutch pedal all the way down and hold while you loosen the bleeder on the clutch cylinder like bleeding brakes remember to check fluid level in reservoir good luck
