What can I make with buckeyes?
Here is a site for an idea:
(excerpt)
Buckeye GarlandI think buckeyes are really pretty, and I got an idea to make them into a garland for my fireplace mantel. I got 50 jumbo buckeyes from a gentleman selling them on eBay, used mono filament for string (it's in the jewelry section at the crafts store), and in between each of the buckeyes, I strung on four 4mm silver beads. In the picture below, I also show some tiny blue beads, but they were too small to be threaded on with the needle (regular sewing needle)Other sites with more ideas
I made a beautiful wreath. I started with a spiral twig/grapevine wreath that I found at Hobby Lobby for $7.50. I wanted to add a ring of buckeyes near the center of the wreath. I collected about 25 good buckeyes and poked holes in each side of the buckeyes with a hammer and nail. This allows the moisture within to release itself (otherwise the Buckeyes will mildew, shrink and become lopsided). Next, I ran green craft wire through the buckey and wired each to the wreath. Since the circular pattern I was making seemed a bit out of perfect order, I used a hot glue gun to hold them better into place. Hold each for about 30 seconds into place where you want them, until the glue dries. Once the circle was completed, I clipped wheat (dried flower section of store) into 7 inch long pieces. I then inserted them in a spiral fashion into the grapevines, and secured with a tiny dot of glue from the hot glue gun. I added a bronze colored silk wire reinforced ribbon, woven throughout the wreath. I then glued a long dangly/crinkly bow with ribbon streamers at the bottom. The end result was stunning! The contrast of the light colored wheat, the dark buckeyes and ribbon worked perfectly. I stayed with as much natural adornment as possible. If the buckeyes loose their shine, you can always spray then with Helman's Indoor/Outdoor Polyeurathane (any Wal-Mart sells this in a spray can for about $8.). This will protect everything outside, if you choose to hang the wreath on your door.
How do you make a coraline puppet?
Coraline is a stop-motion animated film. To create a stop motion puppet, you'll first need an armature. I use the Animation Supplies armature kits. They're a little pricey, but very much worth is (in my opinion).
Anyway, you'll need to draw a front view sketch of your character to scale so you can cut out the armature to the correct size.
After that, you can use clay to "flesh out" your character. The more professional route would be to make a mold of your character to flesh it out with a foam or silicone mix.
Stop-motion is a very time consuming process, but it's worth it if you're into making magic! Hope this helped.

How do you make breyer halters?
There are some good "how to make" websites/videos on the Internet but here is a way to make a simple slip on/off one:
You will need:
Thin thread (coloured is best)
1) Firstly, cut off a small section of string and wrap it round your model's muzzle/nose if it fits round tie it at the end so you model has a ring round his muzzle if it doesn't fit, try again!
2) Secondly, take the ring off your model , get the rest of the string you haven't used and tie it on to the ring anywhere you like!
3) Finally, put the ring back on your model's muzzle and grab the long dangling rope you tied on earlier and take it round behind your model's ears and tie it onto the ring you put on earlier opposite the other knot you made on the other side (you might want to take the ring off the model's muzzle to tie the second knot)
P.S make sure its not too tight and a bit big on you model otherwise you won't be able to take it off!
Hope this helped!
What is the chemical name of plaster of Paris?
Plaster of Paris is a type of building material based on calcium sulphate hemihaydrate CaSO4·1/2H2O.
It is created by heating gypsum to about 150 °C. 2 CaSO4·2H2O → (2 CaSO4·H2O) + 3 H2O (released as steam).
Which art movement is described by works that are as confusing and startling as those of dreams?
Surrealism
The smell does not bother most people, many characterize the scent as a "sweet" smell. Ventilation is a very good idea.
About age appropriate activities: I worked with children in a daycare before I ever learned the concept of age appropriate activities. They were two-year-olds and everything I knew about their capabilities I learned from observance.I also knew they loved their craft activities, and part of my job was to teach them. In a matter of a few months, those children, for the most part, had improved their coloring, cutting, and pasting skills a great deal, some to the point where they were cutting on the lines and coloring within the lines (most of the time), and had fairly good conrol of the glue sticks we used. The children were not stressed because it was fun for them. If I perceived a child needed help, I would help them by putting my hand over their hand to help cut, color, paste, etc. This group flourished!
On the other hand, I later worked in an environment where age appropriate activities were stressed very heavily. This time, I worked with four-year-olds. The administration at this establishment controlled everything we did as teachers and nothing that was not considered to be age appropriate could be done with the children. I found this to be a hindrance, rather than something positive for the growth of the children. Though they were four-year-olds, the expectations for them based on age appropriateness was less than the expectations I had for the two-year-olds based on observance. As a result, these children, I felt, were held back from their true abilities.
I would like to add here that it is always best to set high, though not so high that the child can not succeed, expectations for all children based upon what they are capable of doing in the present. The concept of age appropriateness does not do that. It groups all children into the same mold and allows for no individual differences. I would say that the expectations set are way below what is actually the average ability of a given age, and it is well known that children will almost always live up or down to whatever expectations are set for them. In the case of age appropriateness, my experience has shown that observing children to determine their capabilities, and providing activites that are designed to take the child a little farther, is a much better way to decide what craft activities to provide.
well i think you should watch over your kids alot

You use a crochet hook to pull successive loop ends through each other. If you search for 'How to use a weaving loom to make a potholder' you should find illustrated instructions.
What do you put in snow globes?
If you are making your own snow globes, you may wish to try several things for "snow" inside the globe:
1) crushed egg shells will suffice as snow. Rinse after crushing with a rolling pin. Do not crush into fine dust.
2) glitter or sparkles from a craft store - be aware that some colors will bleach into the liquid over time, so silvers and whites may work best
3) some craft stores sell the "snow" component specifically for snow globes, you can find on line from National Artcraft. They also call their "snow" component "drifting bits" or "flakes for snow globes."
If you are asking what type of scene or figure to put in, look for small animal figures at the bulk section of a toy store, or party packs that have small items. Test in liquid overnight to be sure it will hold up. You can use hot glue or superglue to hold in place.
How do you make a wire and nylon butterfly?
I had alot of trouble trying to find out how to create the same thing and I finally found my answer! WHAT A TASK!
Sign in your address: "GOOGLE", and then in the SEARCH area, punch in NYLON BUTTERFLIES . It will bring up alot of different sites to choose from. I finally found a site that is just what your looking for. It is called BUGS-N- BLOOMS. They have a web-site and the e-mail address is: sales@bugs-n-blooms.com They are out of Texas.
The phone # is: 1-972-837-6646, and they are open from 9:00am to 5:00pm Mon. thru Fri.
To create your own butterflies, all you will need is knee high nylon stockings and some wire. The size of wire and nylon will depend on the size you choose to create. The knee high nylons are very cheap and come in a variety of different colors. You can find a picture of a butterfly and enlarge it on any copy machine and follow your wire to the outline of your picture and be sure that it is strong enough to maintain its shape . Pull the nylon stocking over the wire shape. When you have completed this step, you can either sew , glue or tie your nylon ends . You can create the butterfly body by using a pipe cleaner or some colorfuful beads that you will connect to any wire. If you take a thin piece of wire and fold it in half and make a dot of glue on the folded part with a glue gun, you can add several colored beads and when you are finished doing that, add another dot of glue and this will keep the beads from slideing off the wire. Take the remaining two wire ends and bend them in the shape of antennas and glue a tiny pearl or bead at each edge to finish your butterfly creation.
I HOPE THIS INFORMATION HAS HELPED YOU TO CREATE YOUR BUTTERFLIES? GOOD LUCK!
How do you make a paper plate spinner?
it depends on what kind of spinner you want as to how you make it.
# This one is very simple. puncture two holes in the center of the plate with a craft knife or one side of a pair of scissors then put two pieces long string through each hole(about 60cm long) once they are through tie the two together at both ends. Once you are done spin the string round as long as you want then pull them tight it will spin back for quite a long time. You can also decorate it so when it spins it will look like its flashing colors.
