I've read that the recommendation is every 60K. We have a number of these vehicles in our business and change every 50K. Even that hasn't kept us from having them break early.

Sounds like a bad water pump. Have local shop check it out. Be prepaired for a 5 to 600 dollar bill, the timing belt needs to be done at the same time.

Well its really simple. the serpentine belt controls the alternator, a/c compresser, and the power steering pump. If i am not mistaken the water pump is ran by the timing belt.

On a 1999 Leganza it's under the passenger door sill. Remove the plastic sill and it's under the carpet.

I recently paid $401 to have the timing belt changed along with replacing the water pump with a rebuilt unit on our 2001 Leganza. I had three estimates. One shop wanted to flush the radiator at the same time putting the cost at $540. Another shop quoted me around $400 also. The parts should be easy to find since Daewoos need to have their timing belts changed alot earlier than Japanese and American cars. Most of the mechanics I asked said the belt should be relaced between 65000 and 85000 miles.

Remove the back seat and it should be acessible from within the car.

Fuse is in the fuse box under the hood on left side of car. There's also an A/C relay there too. The inside of the fuse box cover shows which fuse is for each circuit.

It could be a hairline crack in the head gasket between cylinder 2 & 3.

Tightening procedure: 1st stage: 22lbft 2nd stage: 43lbft 3rd stage: 65lbft 4th stage: loosen by 90degrees and retorque to 65lbft 5th stage: start and run the motor until fully warmed up and thermostat has opened, wait until totally cold 4 hrs later 6th stage: loosen by 90degrees and retorque to 65lbft

The service manual engine oil capacity for the Leganza 2.2 is 4 liters. I believe it's also in the owners manual.

In the fuse box located on the drivers side just on the left wall of your left foot

You probebly have a leaking headgasket. Exhoust gasses ecape in your cooling system and couse a high presure.

if the hoses are hard im pretty shure that's your problem.

if you loosen the cap on the reservoire all the little compressed gas bubbles in your system expant cousing the reservoire to run over.

if you also have white smoke or a bad running motor in the morning after starting for like 30 sec im 99% sure it is a leaking headgasket

I just did this and it is pretty easy. Some cars need the whole dash to come out, but you can get everything out from underneath with the leganza. This is what I did: drained the water system disconnected the two hoses from engine bay took out all plastic trim including glovebox (and metal brace bar) took out centre console took out metal supporting bracket at front of centre console (makes it easier to pulls things out) unscrewed bottom plastic cover (loads of screws, some well hidden) unplugged pollen filter pipes and vacuum assists (not sure of the names! Everything that looked like it needed to come out, or just off) when everything is undone, just work the plastic shroud out. It is sealed with mastic at the front and needs some thumping. I broke several bits, including a bracket between the pipes, but nothing that would stop it being put back together, or working 100% Once the shroud is out of the way, the matrix is visible. unclip the top clip with a screwdriver and the matrix falls out. Took a couple of hours to do whole job, including replacement. I'm farily competent.
