SRS system open circuit may just be the wire connection at the seatbelt retractor has come loose.
This light is not just to indicate that your handbrake is engaged. Its other purpose is to alert the driver that there is something wrong with the breaking system and it may not stop you as soon as you would like to be stopped the next time you push down on the pedal.
check your brake fluid it sounds like the level is low or the brake fluid resivour cap is lose take it off and clean it then secure it.
What can cause dashboard light to flicker on and off on a 95 Seville?
This problem could be caused by an intermittent short in the wiring, an intermittent open circuit in the wiring, a fault in the internal wiring of the instrument cluster, or a fault with the light switch. Find out wich wire ( color coded in repair manual ) runs the dash lights and follow it with your hand to the light switch. Look for missing insulation that could be shorting against a piece of grounded metal. If you feel a section of wire that feels like the copper inside is broken it is an intermittent open circuit. If you don't find these to be the problem remove the harness from the light switch and jump the dash wire from the power wire and see if the lights still flicker. If they work properly the fault is in the light switch. If not your problem lies in your instrument cluster.
Can a bad fuse cause your dash lights to not work?
Absolutely. If you can locate your fuses and get to them yourself, it's an easy fix. Consult your owners manual.
This indicator is telling you that the antifreeze level in your engine compartment overflow container is low. Under the hood, look on the left side (from the front) for the container. On the outside is marked the ideal level. If the level is very low, something is leaking in your coolant system and should be checked. If it's just a little low, go ahead and put a little antifreeze in there. NOTE: Do NOT open this container if the engine is hot. That sounds like you are describing the hazard warning system control switch. If so the switch is normally activated by pushing it down. That causes the turn signal lights on all four corners of the car to flash. That is a hazard warniong to other cars that you would activate when your car is moving much slower than normal trafic or is stopped on the shoulder of the road. Normally the system is deactivated by pulling up on the same switch. Water Level
Why does your airbag warning light stay on all time on your 2002 Jeep Liberty?
The airbag warning light is indicating the airbag(s) may NOT be functionig. As it says in the manual, "Ignoring the AIRBAG warning light in your instrument panel could mean you won't have the airbags to protect you, (or your passangers), in a collision...have the airbag system checked RIGHT AWAY." Always wear your seatbelt!!! On my 2004 there is a light on the passanger grab bar that indicates the passanger airbag is off. This happens when a child is in the seat to protect the child from the sudden force of an airbag. It can also be fooled by a package or briefcase on the seat. This is normal. When an adult sits on the passanger side the light should go off. This information was an addition to the 2004 manual.
Why does the low oil level light come on when the dipstick shows full on your 2002 Chevrolet Impala?
There is a low oil level sensor in the side of the oil pan. It is most likely defective.
What does the light that looks light a rectangle with liquid in it and an arrow pointing down mean?
Owner's manual. I would suspect this is the Traction Control light.

How do you change the instrument panel light bulbs in a 1999 Pontiac sunfire?
tools u need. 7mm socket-#15 torx and a #2 Phillips.
First drop down glove box and remove 2 screws beside stereo panel. Pull from right side and remove stereo panel. Remove screws from where your glove box closes and one more that was hiding behind stereo panel. At the side of the dash where the fuse panel is you need to remove the Phillips screw from there and also on the passenger side as well. Remove both of those side panels and remove metal strip around glove box area to expose other screws to remove. pull out panel cover on the dash for your front defroster and you will see 3 more screws to remove. once removed pull up on front trim. (closest to the windshield) and remove out of way. Continue to remove all visible screws and the gold coloured bolts by the windshield. When all this is done, grab the dash from both sides and pull out and then up. The cluster is held in place with 2 black screws only do not remove the little silver ones. When the screws are out from the cluster, pull toward you and up. Look at back of cluster and there are your bulbs. Turn and pull out and replace. It takes me about 45min start to finish all back together, first timers maybe longer.
Turned out to be a bad earth in the engine compartment. I had degreased the engine and knocked out some of the crud around the earthing point. The earthing wire was subsequently loose. Got an electrical fault? CHECK ALL THE EARTH CONNECTIONS FIRST!!! I had checked all the switches, relays and connectors I could get at before checking the earth connections...
Why does the open door warning beep go off when all the doors are closed in your 2003 Honda Odyssey?
Check your contacts on the inside of the door opening. The ones on the door look like thick pins and they make contact with metal cylanders on the crossbeam. If they don't make a good connection, you can get that error. Use either rubbing alcohol or an pencil eraser to clean the flat cylanders and your problem will be solved.

From Haynes Repair Manual #36071, 1993- 2008 Ford Ranger Pick-ups: If there is a fault in the airbag system, the light will go on and stay on, flash, or the dash will make a beeping sound. If this happens, the vehicle should be taken to your dealer immediately for service. However, you can try this (also from the same manual): Disable the system by detaching the negative battery terminal, then detaching the positive terminal; wait two minutes for the electronic module backup power supply to be depleted. To enable the system, connect the positive battery cable first, then connect the negative cable. (Make ure the ignition is in the OFF position when you disconnect and reconnect the battery, also be sure and disconnect and reconnect the battery terminals in the order described). If the light comes back on, then take the vehicle to the dealer for service. Keep in mind that by disconnecting the battery, the Keep Alive Memory will be erased and the vehicle will run rough for several miles until the computer re-learns the information. arnett@cebridge.net
Where is the speedometer sensor on a zx2?
The speedometer sensor is on top of the transmission, on the driver's side of vehicle, firewall side of engine. (USA, 5 speed manual)
1) Gain access from above by removing the segment of snorkel between the air filter and the throttle body.
2) Unplug the wiring harness by pulling straight up on the plug - it comes right off.
3) The retaining bracket supports the wire running to the O2 sensor. You will need a small pry-bar to pop it out.
4) There is a 10mm retaining bolt right next to the sensor body. Remove it.
5) Grab sensor, twist and pull up and out. If it is corroded and won't budge, jack up the car and get it from underneath using a *small* vice grips. Grab it by the metal base - not the plastic upper. You may need to remove the bracket to do this. Insert a drift into the hole used for the O2 harness and work it off.
How do you change the lights in the dash where the speed is at?
Hi, to change your lights in the speedometer(cluster),remove the trim piece from around the gauges, with a small flat screwdriver. Place tape on the metal end of the driver, as not to scratch the plastic trim. Gently and evenly pull off the trim cover. Now,thecluster has 6 to 8 screws, remove them with a magnet tip driver. With the screws out, now tilt the cluster out towards you . You'll see a wire harness attached to the back of the cluster. You can undo the harness from the cluster for easy bulb replacement .Remember ,when replacing bulbs make sure they're the correct size and watts. Best to check with your dealer or automotive shop. The cluster goes back in the same way. Also, the bulbs come out with only a half a trun.
Why would a car with a fully charged battery have dim lights and be unable to start?
If you see any white, ashy deposit around one or both battery posts then battery terminal corrosion is your problem! Any corrosion acts like a big resistor, and prevents voltage from getting through:
Battery Terminal Corrosion - How to Clean a Car Battery Terminalhttp://www.howtocleanstuff.net/auto/mechanical/how-to-clean-car-battery-terminals/ How to Jump Start a Car(Good battery info near the end)http://www.carbuyingtips.com/jumpstart.htm
How to Install a New Car Battery | ExpertVillage videos(The video shows a battery terminal cleaner brush)http://www.expertvillage.com/video/16396_car-battery-two.htm
Finish by making sure the connection to the terminal is tight.
It sound like you are sure your battery is good. If you have a load tester then hook it up and eliminate the battery as the problem. Dim lights and a no crank condition indicates a supply problem to the relay box under the hood. The cable running from the positive battery post to the relay box may be partially broken or have a bad connection. A voltmeter may read 12 or more vots suppling the relay box until the key is turned on. Then the volts will quickly drop and stay low until the key is switched off. This is because the faulty cable or connections can't keep up with the power demands of the lights or starter. You can also use one cable in a set of jumper cables to connect the + side of the battery to the relay box power supply post(the place where the power cable connects to the box). This should teporarily supply enough power and will indicate whether or not the cable is faulty. Have fun! Chris
Digital volt meters will put a load on any voltage source you measure. Turning on the headlights will show a drop in voltage, turning them off will show the voltage upswing. The amp hour rating is what allows the voltage to remain high for a long period of time. Sounds like something is shorted, drawing down the voltage, not allowing enough voltage to reach the starter. Check Battery cables first if good and if you hear clicking coming from the starter solenoid check the starter, If no sound is coming from starter check the fuse, or fusable link, and check the ignition switch.
it could be that your ground cable (neg.) might not have a good connection on your frame
CHECK THE ALTENATOR (IS THAT SPELLED RIGHT?). I AM A WOMAN WHOSE CAR IS DYING, BUT I HAVE GOTTEN GOOD AT THIS GAME.. CONSULT AUTOZONE'S TROUBLESHOOTING PAGE FOR EXTRA HELP.. GO TO WWW.AUTOZONE.COM. IT HAS HELPED ME, ALONG WITH THIS WEBSITE.
I personally would make sure the battery is fully charged and take the battery and have it checked most places like walmart and autozone will do this for free. Check the battery if possible making sure it is full of water up to the eyelets if not fill it with distilled water up to the eyelets and recharge. Next guess would be the clicking sound is the starter solenoid engaging However it sounds like the starter may be dragging and or shorted. When you connect the battery to the cables with everything off if it makes a rather large spark I would suggest a short in the starter or somewhere. EzForJesus
Based on my experience, I believe your battery is not charged, as I have experienced the same symptom.
I believe the manufactures have changed the way the newer batteries are constructed. The end result of this is that you can measure about 12 volts across the battery with no load. The only way you can verify the proper battery voltage is to put a load on it, such as turning on your headlights. My guess is you will then measure a voltage value around 10 volts - or to low to start your car.

What does the engine symbol lit up mean on the dashboard of your 2000 caravan?
Undoubtally you do not have an owners manual. I would think it would mean (Check Engine) That means you have a problem.
What causes F 250 Ford super duty abs light to stay on?
i have noticed that some of the fords have second ignition wires and if this wire is not powered through the start process and remains powered while running . the abs light will come on . this can be checked with a dmm (digital multimeter ) . i have experienced this doing automatic remote starters in fords . if you are not familiar with using a multimeter (do Not Use a test light) take your truck to someone who does i think most fords are white with pink wire at ignition harness under dash. verify the wire first .
==========================================================
In my case the ABS light came on and stayed on and the first ABS fuse that I
checked was not installed all the way . I touched the fuse with my finger , heard
a click , and the ABS light went out ( just lucky I guess , but still suspicious of how
that could have happened )
How expensive does it cost to fix something like the abs on a Pontiac?
The cost to repair an ABS System on a Pontiac vehicle is approximately $400. The exact problem has to be diagnosed by a mechanic and that can be costly.
I have exactly the same problem with my 1996 Dodge Neon. It seems like the problem comes from the Power Control Module (PCM). It's due to either bad contact on wiring or the PCM is getting old and not functioning properly.
AnswerThere is good instructions of how to repair this problem at the following post. You must type it in at the top of page yourself.http://www.neons.org/modules/news/article.php?storyid=18
AnswerI went threw the very same thing with my father's 1996 neon, it turned out to be cold solders (cold solders are solders that were not heated properly are the components may have moved while the solder was cooling) on the back of the instrument cluster. what you do is remove the instrument cluster (pop the cover and unscrew the cluster) put it on a bench face down you will need to unscrew the printed circuit board off of the instrument cluster, and take a soldering iron and heat the solders opposite the connectors until they melt than let them cool and reinstall it back in the vehicle. This should solve your problem it did mine on a 95 & 96 neons. Answeri have had my 1997 neon for 7 weeks now,and its done that to me 3 times, the first two times i removed the key and restarted the car, which worked , but didn't work the 3rd time ,,,so i banged on the dashboard, and that worked,so i assume there is a loose connection some where in the dashYou can just jam a rigid ball between the steering column and the speedometer
and it will work.
Answerhere's the solution to these problems. pull up on your dash board panel. It's only on with clip's.I belive you need the number 20 star bit to undo the hole instrument panel. There maybe some Philip head screws to. pull panel straight out (both sides have plug contacts.gently, take a small screw driver and bring them closer to each other.trust me, I heard it all, my fuel pump is going .on and on and on.I fixed the problem mechanic's.gentley work them to the center 0f each plug (do not bend them to much)they have to go in my 95 neon is working awesome with 88k's PS, buy yourself a 5 piece star bit's and damn metric socket's , if your really into it AnswerHad a 95' doing same thing. Started doing it at different outside temperatures, which made me curious about the expansion/contraction of the plastics used in the connectors etc. Most times I only lost my speedo, but other times all the gauges failed to work including tach, as time went on. You will notice when you remove the cluster, that the connector is clipped into the plastic panel behind cluster. I simply unfastened it the first time, and pulled it outward,to allow male spades on connection at cluster to be inserted fully without chance that maybe they weren't reaching far enough to make a good connection, and re-installed the cluster. This cured it for about a year, then the same happened again. This time I took the time, with a pair of tweezers, to bend each male spade on rear of cluster, slightly, one way or the other to insure better contact with the female connector in the dash. Evrything has been working excellent since. When it only takes about a half hour of your time, and no special tools, it's worth a try. The NO_COST part is always nice too.Mike Butler, Ontario Canada
AnswerThese cluster are very bad about going out. I have a 96 neon, and they stopped all together, but the lights did stay come on, and all the warning lights worked. After a little research I found out that these cluster do burn out, because they are digital. They are analog gauges, but no manual cables, they receive a signal through the two plugs that they hook into. Therefore they are considered digital, and the printed board in the back burns out just like a PC's motherboard. I replaced my cluster with another and it works fine now. AnswerI have a 1997 Plymouth neon and have the same problem, I tried checking the connections, and bending them little spade connectors, nothing worked. Except for reheating the little cold solders on the back of the connectors, in msome cases re-soldering some of them. It works fine now. Eric Yanush, Saskatchewan CanadaHow do you reset the maintenance required light on a 1989 Voyager?
a SCAN TOOL HAS TO BE USED TO RESET THE LIGHT. FOR EXAMPLE, WITH A SNAP-ON SCAN TOOL THERE IS AN OPTION ON THE SCROLL DOWN LIST THAT SAYS "RESET EMR LAMP"
on the back of the instrument group in the dash is a small hole that you insert a push-pin tool into to reset the latch relay that was activated by the odometer to enable the light. You can reach it with a jewelers screwdriver, but you need to disconnect the battery first (is the stereo off before disconnecting the battery?) and turn the camlocks that hold the backplate up. Better idea is take it to the dealer and have them reset it for you. It is there to remind you to have the timing belt replaced and the O2 sensor checked. if either fails, you will regret this decision to ignore the service call.
What is the yellow warning light on a 2006 Toyota rav 4 mean?
That's probably your check engine light. Take your car to an Autozone, Advance Auto, or O'Reilly auto parts and they'll check it for free.
