Can Open Source Software be used in a business?
Generally, the answer is yes. Check the license that comes with the software.
5 Why Searching is slower in Linked-List than in Trees?
Searching is slower for linked-lists rather than (ordered) trees because you need to iterate through each element serially, whereas for an ordered (binary) tree you use a "divide and conquer", otherwise known as binary search, method.
Think of it this way. Think of a number between 1 and 128. Perhaps the number is 97. With an ordered list, it would take 97 comparisons to find the item. With an unordered list, it would take an average of 64 comparisons - if the order was random. With a binary tree, i.e. a binary search, you only need 7 comparisons. In fact, you never need more than 7 comparisions for a tree size of 128, and on average, you would use less than that.
A Microsoft Active Directory (AD) Server can only answer directly queries about objects which are in its domain. When using LDAP, you may want to get information about objects in other domains or subdomains within the organization.
Most AD servers, therefore, cache information from other AD servers using a facility called the Global Catalog.
To query the Global Catalog on an AD server which is also a Global Catalog Server (GCS) you must connect to the GCS port, 3268 instead of to the default LDAP port.
Design of the database (Database Design) refers to a given application environment, optimize the structure of the database, the database and applications, which can efficiently store data to meet the application needs of various user information needs and processing requirements). At www. myelibrary.net.In you can clearly understand what is the database design.
How can you change Hansen into Nilsen in the LastName column in the Persons table?

IN ACCESS How DO YOU delete a column from the table?
Go to the Design View for the table. Then click on the field name for the column you want to get rid of and press the delete key. It will prompt you to make sure you want to do it, as you will lose the data in it if you do. Click OK if you want to and it will be gone. When you next open the table, the column will no longer be in it.
What kind of server responds to recursive queries?
A DNS servers that is setup with to preform recursive queries
or an SQL server
What were Evelyn Boyd Granville's contributions?
phd
She was one of the first African American women to earn a doctoral degree in mathematics. She graduated from Yale University in 1949. Marjorie Lee Browne (at the University of Michigan) also received her doctorate that year. Later, she wrote (with Jason Frand) Granville wrote Theory and Application of Mathematics for Teachers in 1975; a second edition was published in 1978, and the textbook was used at over fifty colleges. She was particularly proud of leading the way for women in the mathematical and other fields that she excelled in.

The distinction between DBMS and Dabase Content?
The database did not find the text of a page that it should have found, named "The distinction between DBMS and Dabase Content".
This is usually caused by following an outdated diff or history link to a page that has been deleted.
If this is not the case, you may have found a bug in the software. Please report this to an administrator, making note of the URL. A database management system (DBMS) manages the data that is contained in it. The DBMS takes care of organizing and storing the data so that the user need not wory about the mechanics of storage and access.

What security features of the operating system can be used to simplify the design of the database management system?
Why is it better to store data in multiple related table rather than one big table?
Basically to minimize redundancy (unnecessary repetition) of data in the database. By storing only information (fields) that directly relate to each other in each table AND modeling how the tables should relate to each other you also get the maximum flexibility in ways to retrieve information. A simple example would be a table to store INVOICES and a table to store CUSTOMERS. The INVOICE table only has information about an invoice; Inv#, Amount, Date, etc. and The CUSTOMER table information about customers; Name, Address, Phone, etc. An Invoice has one customer but a customer can have many invoices. If we give the customer a unique ID then, in the INVOICE table we need only store that ID (called a foreign key) but with it the database can look up the rest. So you dont store customer name, address, etc over and over again every time a customer gets a new invoice. The process of splitting up data into separate structures is called normalization. Often times data is de-normalized and repeating data allowed for performance or snapshot reasons.
Can you show the content of railway reservation mini project using oracle and vb 6.0?
Yes, you can create a proto type, but you have to create your own data base and server connectivity. Because you can not use IRCTC data base or server as the matter of security.

What is the history behind the program Microsoft access?
Microsoft SQL Server is their flagship DBMS application, but had become increasingly difficult for the casual and non-technical user to maintain and use, not to mention having far more capabilities than the non-business user was likely to ever need. As a result, Access was developed with far fewer bells and whistles and with user-friendly wizards and drag-and-drop capability. It was also added to Microsoft Office for ease of installation and maintenance.
Explain networking management system?
A NMS knows what gear is deployed on your network, and can query it for current status, and it knows what "normal" status is, so it can raise alerts when something out of the ordinary occurs which requires attention.
What arer the phases of a project development cycle give the salient tasks under each phases?
Software development is achieved through collection activities that lead to the building of a software product. Software development is traditionally divided into various phases, which we describe briefly in the following sections.
Requirement Phase:-
The development process usually begins when the client approaches a development of organization in regard with a piece of software, with the opinion of client to the profitability of an enterprise. The task of developer is to determine exactly what the client needs and find out their cost and deadline of software. Software development is an expensive process.
Specification Phases:-
The requirement must be understood by the developers, when client agrees; the specification document is drawn by the specification team. In the specification document, the functionality of the software is described. The specification document of the software is part of contract, where as contract software development can lead to a lawsuit, the document should be written as evidence.Planning Phase:-The plan describes the software process in detail, and also it includes structure of development organization, project responsibilities, technique, managerial objective etc to be used. Detail schedule, budgets and resource allocation are also made. In planning duration and cost estimation are important.Design phases:-The design phase is to determine how the software works. With specification document, internal structure of the software is determines by the design team. Algorithm, Architecture design, data design, data structure are made in this phase. The major output of design phase is architectural design and detailed design.Implementation Phase:-The various modules of the design are coded in this phase. The major documentation is associated with implementation is the source code itself, but the programmer should provide additional documentation to assist in maintenance. All test cases against the code was tested for the actual and expected outputTesting phase:-In this phase modules combine and determine whether the software works correctly or not. All modules are integrated in a specific order for the critical influence on the quality of software. The purpose of integration testing is to check that modules combine correctly, so that it achieved task and satisfies the specificationMaintenance Phase:-Maintaining and enhancing software to cope with newly discovered problems or new requirements can take far more effort than the initial development of the software. Not only may it be necessary to add code that does not fit the original design but just determining how software works at some point after it is completed may require significant effort .The software has been hand over to client and changes as a part of maintenance.A database is a collection of objects. Tables, views, programs. You could graphically put these objects into a diagram with a tool such as ERWIN, then print. Dependent upon how large the database is, you may or may not be able to print all of it. You'd also need a printer that can print large paper (legal or larger). Or you could do a select from just one table and put the output to a file. You may want to check to see how many rows are in the table first, then just do a select of a part of the table.
select count(*) from TABLENAME; (gives you the number of rows)
What is quadratic probing in data structure?
Quadratic probing is a scheme in computer programming for resolving collisions in hash tables.
Quadratic probing operates by taking the original hash value and adding successive values of an arbitrary quadratic polynomial to the starting value. This algorithm is used in open-addressed hash tables. Quadratic probing provides good memory caching because it preserves some locality of reference; however, linear probing has greater locality and, thus, better cache performance. Quadratic probing better avoids the clustering problem that can occur with linear probing, although it is not immune.
Data highway is a network of computer networks, other devices, and switching systems used for the transfer of digitized information.
What are the disadvantages of source of data?
The source data file can be moved, breaking the link to the program requiring the data source in order to work.
A decision-support system is intended to produce information to support which type of decisions?
DSSs include knowledge-based systems. A properly designed DSS is an interactive software-based system intended to help decision makers compile useful information from a combination of raw data, documents, and personal knowledge, or business models to identify and solve problems and make decisions.
