Differential gears in an automobile's drivetrain allow the driving wheels to transmit torque, or twisting force, at different turning rates. Thus one wheel can follow the longer arc around the outside of a turn while the other wheel tracks the shorter inside arc without skidding on the road surface.

A rear differential service drains the rear differential housing and replaces it with new oil to help the gears turn more smoothly. You usually see them between the two axles going to the left and right of the rear wheels. The differential is what allows the tires to slow down or speed up separately so that one does not drag.

Try putting the vehicle un neutral first. You will also need to put it in neutal to disengage

The automatic transmission temperature sensor, on your 1990 Mitsubishi, is located on the top of the transmission. The sensor will have to electrical wires going to it.

Your local mechanic store has manuals for sale and if those are not everything you need, then you can go to your local library, they usually have a large assortment of Chilton manuals. Now after you find that, you'll need to ask for a copy of it, they usually won't allow you to sign those books out.

I was looking at the 1999 Ford F-150 owners manual and with the 5.4 liter V8 engine ( according to the trailer towing table ) there were ( 3 ) gear ratios

( 3.08 / 3.55 / and 3.73 )

I believe if you open the driver's door you will see an information sticker on the end of the door or the latch pillar that will show the axle code . The axle code will let you determine the gear ratio ( unfortunately they don't seem to have that in the owner's manual ) so I did a Google search of Ford axle codes.

I BELIEVE :

axle code ( 18 ) is a 3.08 conventional ( non limited slip )

axle code ( 19 ) is a 3.55 conventional and H9 is a 3.55 limited slip

axle code ( B6 ) is a 3.73 limited slip

You don't

when you turn the wheel all the way to the left or right you here a popping noise when the car is rolling.

I'm assuming that the vehicle is equipped with a push button shifter for the 4 wheel drive and the light doesn't light on the switch? If so, about 90% of the time it's the switch group itself. If the light were to come on and then blink (indicating that the front dirrerential isn't engaging) the you start looking farther forward. If yours has the floor shifter, there are actually bulbs under the graphic to the left of the shifter. The shifter cover will come up and you can replace bulbs as needed from there.

sometimes there is a tag under the hood with the specifcations for your truck. along with sparkplug gap etc. there might also be a tag in the glove box with the special code for that feature. G4=3:73 gear ratio,etc. owners manual in specifications section?

Call a dealer (service or parts) & give them your vin #. They will ans. in a minute or two when they look up the vin.

Options include 3.55:1, 3.73:1, and 4.10:1

most likely 3.54 but look for the tag on the axle.

This is determined by cointing the teath on the ring gear and deviding them by the pinion gear. Another way is to jack up one tire and count the rotations of the driveshaft when rotated 2 times.

There should be a small metal tag on the rear diff attached by one of the bolts. if that one is missing then check on the front diff. They have to be the same or you will do massive damage to your truck in 4X4. If they are both missing you're going to have to open the rear end and figure out what you have. You may have heard terms like rear axle ratio or final drive ratio. These refer to the gear ratio in the differential. If the final drive ratio is 4.10, then the ring gear has 4.10 times as many teeth as the input pinion gear. You could count teeth and figure the ratio out.

There is a plastic ring which positions the gear stick to select gears...if you take the gear stick cover off and have a look where the arm goes thru the plastic housing towards the engine. If you can see broken plastic anywhere, either in the frame or broken off sliding around the arm, this is your problem...easy fixed

Yes, it could be ordered with GM's Posi-Trac as an option.

on your trailblazer dose it have touch button 4x4 if so have a look at the side of trany there mit be a motor there under a side cover that you have to replace or the switch it self has to be replaced
