I assume you are referring to the man who is a British politician, and a member of a far-right nationalist political party. What in psychology would help you see other peoples insecurities easily?

  • As you know psychologists study human nature so human nature was part of studying to be a psychologist. Everyone has one or two insecurities as we are not perfect human beings, but if some insecurities are stopping the client from having a full and enjoyable life and move on in their future then the psychologist needs to get to the bottom of these insecurities. If you simply come out and ask your client what they feel their insecurities are they will most likely think about it and give the psychologist an answer. One thing a psychologist could do is simply talk to their client and then ask them to go home and write down any insecurities they feel they have and at their next appointment they should bring the list with them and the psychologist and client can go over the list and discuss it and it is up to the psychologist to give the client tools to deal with these insecurities.

Is harassment against a caucasian who has biracial children considered racial discrimination in the workplace?

It MAY be possible - but it might be a bit of a stretch because you aren't being (allegedly) discriminated against overtly because of your race, it is your family who is causing it which may take it out of the realm of workplace enforcement.

1970s racism period in Australia?

There has always been racism in Australia. before the late 1970's most of the immigrants that came into Australia were at least reasonably white looking. However after Australia's involvement in the Vietnam war there was a huge influx of Asian people. And the you would not have to listen for long to hear a lot of racist comment. Even me I came to Australia from the Netherlands an am as white as the driven snow, I learnt to speak English within a year and could speak and understand it better then average within another 6 months with a bit of an accent, that was enough to be given a hard time by the average Auzy. The treatment the aboriginals got in those days was hardly better then today. The only difference there is in regards to racism is that we don't speak about it however it is still definitely rife.

Why are black guys so ignorant?

Overall, they are not. That said, when it does occur, it is a combination of lack of educational opportunities, legacy, peer pressure, and local culture.

For years, African-Americans were denied educational opportunities. There were even laws forbidding teaching African-Americans how to read and write. When education first became legal for African-Americans, the schools were unsafe, and often of lower quality than schools where Caucasian students attended. Segregation kept Black students out of higher quality White schools.

As the fight for civil rights developed, some people of color equated education with "acting White." African-Americans who could speak clear English using proper grammar were viewed with suspicion and considered sell-outs. Even today, African-Americans are physically attacked on occasion by other African-Americans because of their intelligence and ability to verbally express themselves. Males face this pressure more than females.

Now, the question is particularly about males. Somewhere along the line, education and Caucasian culture became associated with effeminacy or weakness in the minds of some African-American men. Book smarts became known as something that people who are not street smart do because they are too weak to do otherwise. The struggle to survive in a tough, racist world devalued education in their minds. Some even began to connect intelligence with gender or sexual orientation. The more intelligent and self-empowered someone is, the less sex they might have have with members of the opposite sex. Since reproduction means creating more people who are similar to you and loyal to your cause, then those who didn't reproduce were seen as sell-outs or traitors in a day that equated sex with fighting racism.

Even today, there is incredible peer pressure among African-American men, and such men living in tough environments still put much more emphasis on physical strength and survival than on intellect. They have more education than those who came before them, since more educational opportunities are available, but they might not value education nor have as much desire for it as they could have. These lingering attitudes seem to partly explain the gender divide and why Black women are more likely than in the past to date other races. They lack the pressures that the men face and look to men who have attitudes and values closer to their own.

How do you determine discrimination in workplace What questions do you ask employers to prove workplace discrimination?

Assuming you mean ILLEGAL discrimination (most discrimination is lawful), then you don;t ask the employer much - there is an incentive to lie. Investigators look at hiring, promotion and pay PATTERNS by race, sex, or age.

Employers can then explain why a pattern looks unusual.

Do black men receive longer prison sentences than white men for the same crimes?

Answer:Yes they do. But let me explain why. It is not because they are more violent than white men. It is because of the sentencing guidelines which are setup by white men which allow judges to have a heyday on whom they will. The United States only makes up 5% of the world population but has the world's largest prison system. Even larger than that of China. Black men only make up 6% of the US population but make up over 45% of the prison population. Asians and Hispanics make up about 25% of the prison population combined. White men make up about only 30% and this is mostly poor whites. Looking at the statistics one would think that black men are more criminal when they are no more criminal than any other race of men. The reason they out number all other race of men in prison is because they get horrendously long sentences for non-violent crimes. Black men are in prison for drug charges more than any other crime. Being a pedophile is a terrible crime. 80% of the males who commit this horrendous act are white. Though this is perceived to be an act of violence against a child, white men receive far less time than a black male who got caught smoking crack or got caught selling 10 rocks of crack cocaine. Google and see for yourself.

+ It is very unfortunate, that there is no outcry among African Americans for what is going on. I personally know of men who smoked marijuana at one time but stopped...but because they associated at one time or another with someone who did, they are serving 15 to 20 years in prison. Judges are able to do this through what is called "Conspiracy Charges". When you get a conspiracy charge, they (the feds) collect as much marijuana or cocaine as they can and charge each person they've arrested with that exact amount of drugs. It does not matter whether you personally ever even saw the marijuana or not. You are charged and sentenced as though you personally sold it. This action is legal because whites have made it legal, thus making it possible to imprison a huge number of black men for long periods of time and not one family member can do anything about it.

+

+ Is it just? No, but then the Justice System has a horrendous history of allowing lynchings and rapes against blacks to go on in America without one arrest. So it is no wonder that it continues to be unjust in it's sentencing of blacks today.

Answer:It depends on which country you are in, in America there may be some evidence supporting this theory. In the United Kingdom the reverse is true, with white people regularly getting significantly longer sentances than black people for similar violent crimes.

The reason for this is not certain, but some believe it is down to the privileged upper class judges and there ideological views (white people should know better).

How are the Christians treated in Turkey?

Answer 1

The Christians or people of any other faith are treated no different than the Muslims.

Constitutionally, Turkey is a secular country and is a candidate for membership in EU.

Turkey is a multicultural and ethnically diversified society and has been for centuries due to the influx of peoples from different race, religion, color, creed, national origin and culture. During Ottoman empire, Jews were not only tolerated but flourished.

We have found Turkish people in general to be hospitable and friendly during our extended trips to Turkey. In general, it is highly unlikely, that anybody will be particularly interested in your faith, except perhaps as a curiosity in very friendly conversation.

In business settings, the question of religion is completely inappropriate and is never asked. Personal prejudices and biases of individuals cannot be eradicated by enforcing laws except to learn to respect others' points of view and tolerance.

Answer 2

There is an important distinction to be made between tourists who happen to be Christians (even overtly like missionaries) and endemic Christians who live in Turkey on a day-to-day basis. The former are well-treated since speaking well of Turkey will promote tourism to that country and increase its wealth. As for the few remaining endemic Christians, especially in Istanbul (which remains one of the most important Patriarchates in Orthodox Church) have been the targets of abuse and bullying.

Historically, the area of modern Turkey had a much larger Christian population than it does today and had two major Christian minorities: the Armenian Apostolics and the Greek Orthodox. The Armenians were mass-murdered (1.8 million individuals) from 1915-1917 in what the Turks refuse call a genocide to this day. The towns and cities in which they used to live have been renamed and there are now almost no Armenians left in Turkey. The Greek Orthodox were removed through a population exchange with Greece in which Greece gave up its Muslim population. This would serve to create two relatively homogenous countries, but remove the need of the Turkish government to deal with the Greek Orthodox community within its borders.
