Is it supposed to drip water out of tailpipe in a flex fuel truck?

Yes all gas engines will drip water (condensation) out of tail pipe until exhaust system is hot .It has to do with temp difference's the colder the pipe the more water. in winter the muffler can actually fill with ice over many short trips .water dripping has nothing to do with fuel type

flex fuel engines actually don't have any benefits unless they have a full tank of e85 not half and half. and that is only to the environment as it takes more e85 to make power than reg gas

How do you fix a power window that wont go up on dodge ram 1500 4x4?

It is important to keep everything in a car working well. When a power window stops working, it is important to make repair it by replacing the window motor, the blown fuse or the wiring that may be causing the windows to not function.

If the window can go down but not up, the power window motor and fuse are working. Check the switch for dirty contacts and/or wiring for damage.

If i lost the key to 1997 dodge ram how do i get the key code for a replacement key?

IF the code is not written in the owners manual(J0001-3580 or L0001-3580) then you can either go to dealership and have them cut the key for you. Or, you can have a locksmith do it. You can save money by bringing the locksmith the passenger side door cylinder. The reason I'd take passenger side is there's less electronics in the door and usually has less wear. The door and ignition share all the same cuts. The 1997 Dodge Ram also did not have a transponder key that year.

I think you can call the dealership and give them the VIN number and they can get you the right key.

2002 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 front axle removal?

Remove tire/caliper/rotor/tie rod/ball joint/pull steering arm back/ pull cv axle back towards diff and remove from steering arm/then just pull it straight out ofintermdiate shaft/thats it

u're gonna need a BIG puller and a bigger hammer to remove the hub bearing. Don't be surprised if you destroy the bearing in the processand if it still doesnt come out you might

end up having to change the stub shaft coming out of the differential as well as the CV shaft simply because the two will not separate from each other..... and also

If there is no room to slide them out together, then you will need to cut the shaft to give yourself some clearance

How do you change the heater core in a 2005 dodge ram?

The Heater core is difficult to replace on the RAM since it is buried in the plenum box. The box has a convenient door panel that you can open to remove and replace the core. The catch is that the convenient door is on the back of the box and you have to remove the heater box to get to it. This involves removing the steering wheel, steering column, complete dash panel, evacuating the AC, draining the radiator, and finally removing the heater box. Once you have the box out(8-12hrs), the core is simple to replace.

You want to be sure that the core is the problem before you undertake this process. If there is a strong smell of antifreeze in the cab or a puddle of coolant on the passenger side floor, the diagnosis is easy.

Check that the radiator is full, not the overflow tank, the radiator. On a cold engine you can remove the radiator cap and check the level. It should be full. If there is air in the system it will affect cab heating and engine cooling.

Another good check is to feel the two heater hoses going into the firewall from a cold start. The hoses should warm up at about the same rate and get uncomfortably hot-close to radiator temperature.

If the core appears to be OK, the next concern is with the blend doors that divert air through the heater core. This is a common failure on the RAM. Check heatertreater.net for an explanation of the operation of the system and a fix for the common problems. The RAM has four different DC servo motor controlled air flow doors that are susceptible to failure and all of these need to be checked by either observing the symptoms of failure or reading the codes. The problems are easy to fix with the HeaterTreater kits, but the OEM dealer fix requires removing the plenum box as described above. It is a costly repair if you take it back to the dealer and are not under warranty.

Can you run your 2002 4.7 dodge ram 1500 without an thermostat?

It is not recommended, the check engine light will come on, and in the long run the engine will sludge up.

Why would a 2005 6.0 diesel smoke when cold?

That is normal for a diesel engine. The temperature of the cylinders is not quite hot enough for complete burn. The issue goes away normally, in a few minutes. You will also smell a very rich diesel fuel smell in the air. The turbo is also fairly fragile at this time, so also it to idle for a little bit and get the oil warm.

Why would the high beams not work on a 1987 Accord if all fuses are good and the headlights have been replaced?

Not familiar with the vehicle, but a generic answer could be a bad relay (assuming they used one) or a bad high-low beam switch. Good luck

Why 2006 dodge ram 2500 the brake light will not work checked all fuses all are fine the right brake light works but the left doesn't checked to see if the power comes to the back but it doesn't?

Open Circuits

From what I understand of your problem, IF the fuse for that circuit IS good, then the problem is probably that the wiring of that circuit issuffering from what is called an "open,"[disconnected] conditiion somewhere in that part of the circuit which serves only the nonworking light.

For an electrical circuit to function, the circuit must be "" which" means that a conductor [wire] must be attached to the Positive terminal of the battery and run [through various harnesses and connectors, plugs, etc.] to the fuse, then to a control switch [not needed in this case of yours], then to the electrical device (in this case your "outlets"), and then another wire [called a ground] back to the Negative terminal of the battery. Sometimes the ground wire does not go all the way back to the battery Negative terminal, but instead connects to the body sheet metal near the device, and the body sheet metal is all grounded to the Negative terminal of the battery.

This continuous line of electrical conduction makes a "circuit." IF any part of that circuit is disconnected at a connector, or a screw terminal, or at a sheet metal ground screw, the circuit is "open," incomplete, and cannot conduct the electricity.

The "fix" for your problem is for someone who understands and is experienced in automotive electrical systems to fully "troubleshoot" that electrical circuit to find and identify the defect and then to properly correct it.

Although there could be one of many possible defects, you need to find it, and fix it in order to cause the circuit to work as it should.

Another thing that comes to mind is that often fuses will "look OK" yet be incapable of conducting electricity. How do you know that:

  • You even found the correct fuse to determine that it is "not burned out?" If you checked and confirmed good the wrong fuse that was an exercise in futility. And...
  • Even if it was the right fuse, how did you determine that it was "not burned out?" A visual check may not indicate a burned out fuse. You need to test it with a VOM [Volt-Ohm meter] to confirm that there is conductivity.

You will probably find a loose or corroded metal contacts in a connector or light socket, or a burned out filament in the bulb, or a cut wire in the light circuit which is nonfunctional.

How do you bypass the air conditioner compressor with the serpentine belt on a 1991 Ford Escort?

You'll probably need to buy three belts and take two back before you get it right. Take a piece of string, hold the end exactly where the belt leaves the pulley before the compressor, follow the same path the belt does around the compressor and on to the next pulley where you want to mark the string where it meets the pulley. Take the measurement of the string, subtract it from the overall length of the old belt (with AC) and that will give a pretty good idea of how long a belt you need to bypass the compressor. Buy that one and another two (slightly smaller and slightly bigger because it's important to have roughly the proper amount of tension on the belt.

  • jwko - you can also remove the a/c compressor and get a belt that is for your application without a/c

Why does your 1994 Mercury Sable not shift into overdrive?

Most likely you have a problem with the torque converter or the valve body in the transmission. If you have around 85,000-120,000 miles on your Sable/Taurus, this is a common issue. Having a transmission specialist look at the vehicle is an expensive but necessary pitfall.
