How do you fix a fuel gauge on a 1989 d150 dodge ram?
It's probably the sending unit (in the tank) malfunctioning. Drop the tank to replace it or just fill up every couple of hundred miles.
I have discovered that my Ram 2500 inside temp guage is somehow tangled up with the compass. when I turn in any direction the temp. changes I guess it has to go to the dealer!I am one of the 3 who have this problem.
just press and hold both buttons in like you are resetting the economy! I had the same problem. figured it out on a road trip. same goes to get it back.
Check to see if you are reading the compass. Mine had me going for a while before I figured out that it was reading heading degrees not temperature degrees. The resetting process can change it between the two types of readout.
Oil filter replacement on a cummins 06 dodge?
The oil filter is on the passenger side of the engine, about halfway down the block. Easiest way to get to it is with a filter strap, through the wheelwell. Loosen it until you can spin it by hand. Get underneath the truck, reach up and spin it off, you can pull it straight down without tipping it and making a mess. Reinstall from under the truck (after priming at least 3/4 full of oil) and lubing the gasket... Spin on until gasket hits the baseplate, and use a strap wrench to go 1 full turn past that (through the wheelwell).

Fuel pressure 5.9 cummins 12 valve?
The fuel pressure for a 5.9 Cummins 12-valve engine typically ranges from 10 to 20 psi at idle. It's important to maintain proper fuel pressure for optimal engine performance and to prevent issues like hard starting or poor fuel delivery. If the pressure is too low or too high, it may indicate problems with the fuel pump, filters, or pressure regulator. Regular monitoring and maintenance of the fuel system are essential for the engine's longevity and efficiency.
How do you Replace fuel pump on 1994 dodge ram 1500?
first make sure there is no gasoline in the tank. Drain it all out. If you dont something could catch on fire. So start out by looking at the fuel pump. Its usaully in the back under the car. Then you see a lot of screws around it and things. Take them off and take the fuel pump. Make sure no drips of gasoline drip on to the ground. Then get your new pump and do the same thing you did but just screw them back on and put them on tight so they dont fall off.
What makes a diesel engine hard to start?
There are a number of things, but the two primary reasons are that diesel fuel is far less combustible than gasoline, and temperature of the fuel. Diesel fuel gels at 5.5 degrees F. Remember, the only thing starting a diesel engine is compression, they have no spark! (And no, the glow plugs don't ignite fuel, they warm the air in the cylinder!)
First answer is correct and true. I just wanted to add the fact that diesel's compression ratio's can be as high as 21:1-23:1 (older ford IDI engine's) but typically sit around 18-20:1. So in that case a lot more air is compressed per compression stroke. When you compress air it becomes extremely hot. Inject a little squirt or six (depending on how many pulse's that particular manufacturer programed the injector to do) into that super heated air and BOOOOM the explosion is ten fold more powerful then any gasoline ignition process. As for the glow plugs again first answer is correct so with that said it aide's in getting the air hot faster and nothing to do with the combustion process like people might think.

Is it supposed to drip water out of tailpipe in a flex fuel truck?
Yes all gas engines will drip water (condensation) out of tail pipe until exhaust system is hot .It has to do with temp difference's the colder the pipe the more water. in winter the muffler can actually fill with ice over many short trips .water dripping has nothing to do with fuel type
flex fuel engines actually don't have any benefits unless they have a full tank of e85 not half and half. and that is only to the environment as it takes more e85 to make power than reg gas
