What makes the starter on a 1999 dodge just click even if the battery is good?

Only one thing can cause your starter to just click, low voltage. Which means power from your good battery isn't getting to the starter.

Things to look for are corrosion between the terminal and the cable connection. If that is squeaky clean, look to see if either of your battery cables is showing signs of corrosion. The way to look for this is to see if there is any swelling in the cable, or "puffiness". You will normally see it close to the battery connection, but it could be further along if there is damage to the insulation that allows foreign matter into the cable.

Lastly make sure that both ends of the battery cables are properly tightened. If it is loose, it will not allow correct conductivity between the battery and the starter.

A single hard click is an indication of a failed starter. The contacts inside the built on solenoid have failed.

What is point gap on 1976 360 dodge engine?

0.035 inch was a previous answer.

I would seriously verify that. I show 0.035" as the SPARK GAP of the spark plugs, not the point gap inside the distributor.

The point gap I found was more like 0.017" measured with the points open on the high lobe of the distributor shaft.

Why does your dome light come on and the car dings when I hit a bump in your 1996 dodge stratus?

It sounds like the switch on the door is really sensitive. It is located in between the door on the hinge side and the car body. If the door isn't completely shutting all the way this would cause this. The switch could just be going bad and needs to be replaced. Sometimes some models will allow one to "Shim" the switch by using a washer or shim to push the switch out more. You just need to play with it alittle bit to see. I hope this helps. Good luck.
