Check your alternator/drive belt. If it looks worn, change it out. Make sure to get the tension right on it as well. If it looks alright, check to make sure it's tight and not slipping. This is just one possibility, it could be something else, but it's a good place to start.

there is a 17mm bolt on the front side of the transmission you need to take that off then use a gear oil pump and pump fluid into the trans. It is Fill to Spill. Be sure the car is level and fill till it begins to drip out the fill hole.

It is on the left side of the motor, actually screwed into the throttle body with the 2 screws. it is mounted under one of the vacuum hoses near the rear center of it. ask for a pic. if you need help

Yes, they are interchangeable, but if you plan to put a 95 motor in a 92, do not do it. The 7bolt motors experience crankwalk, which is bad. But if you're putting a 92 motor in a 95, go for it! I just finished putting a 91 motor in my 95. It's quite a bit of work, and you have to know what you're doing. There are plenty of guides out there for a 6bolt swap.

Check fuel pressure to be sure it's in spec. If it is, then you must check the injectors for pulses.

Are you needing a diagram on where the plug wires go? I added a picture to this question, sorry if it is too dark. EDIT: Picture is on the right under Web Links. There should also be numbers on the coil that indicate which wire goes to which spark plug.

Ignition or valve timing?

Valve timing must be set using the TDC timing mark on the crankshaft, and the TDC timing mark on the camshaft pulley or sprocket. even one notch off is enough to cause very poor performance or damage.

Ignition timing must be set using a timing light and the #1 TDC and BTDC timing marks on the crankshaft accessory belts pulley. Loosen the bolt on the distributor, and twist the distributor while the engine is running until the proper timing mark lines up with the mark or point above the crank pulley. this is typically around 13 to 15 degrees BTDC.

Ignition timing can be roughly set by ear if you cannot access a timing light. Slowly twist the distributor one way or another until the engine runs very smooth, cranks easily and accelerates very quickly under no load, you want a sharp sound to the exhaust.

Use quick short duration full open throttle blips to tune the timing to allow quick rpm acceleration with no stuttering or lagging.

Valve timing is done by removing the timing belt cover and ensuring that the crank, and balance shaft sprockets are aligned with designated marks, as well as ensuring that the cam sprocket marks are aligned with the top of the cylinder head. The cam sprockets each have two sets of marks since they're interchangeable. The dowel pin on each camshaft needs to be facing up. Once all the marks are aligned, you'll need to install the timing belt and the tensioner. A service manual will explain this in greater detail.

Ignition timing is done by ensuring your car is up to operating temp with all accessories turned off. There's a connector by the battery that is capped off and connected to nothing. Pull the cap off and use a jumper to ground the single pin to any good ground. The battery negative works fine. This takes the ECU out of the loop. Your idle needs to be at 650-850 RPM. There's a small mark on your crank pulley that needs to line up with the mark on the timing belt cover. Timing is 5 +/- 2 degrees. If you're between 3 and 7 degrees, you're good. If not, loosen the two 12mm nuts that secure the cam angle sensor (CAS) so it'll turn. The CAS is opposite the cam gears on the valve cover, over by where you would add coolant. Turn the CAS until you're at 5 degrees.

The above answer is incorrect. These cars are dual overhead cam and use a timing belt. They are also distributorless ignitions, so you won't find a distributor to turn.

The simple answer is yes. there are two engines in talons, lasers and eclipses. or better known as dsm's. (diamond star motors). there is the 4g63, and the 420a. which both come in turbo and non-turbo models. if you are looking to swap a turbo 4g63 into a non turbo 4g63 shell, the swap is simple. same as if your swapping a turbo 420a into a non turbo 420a shell. now, if your looking to swap a turbo 4g63into a nonturbo 420a or vise versa, you will encounter problems with motor mounts, wiring etc. keep in mind the wiring and ecu's etc will be different on each motor.

the crankshaft position sensor is located between the main pulley and oil pump pulley in the lower part of the timing belt.

front speakers kick door panel speakers are 6 1/2, the dash speakers are 4 inch, and the rear speakers are 5 x 7. Hope that helps you out. Hopefully those are the right dimensions...

Will it go into gear when the engine is off and the vehicle isn't moving? If so, it could be a problem with the pilot bearing or possibly the clutch slave cylinder wasn't installed properly. Check it for air bubbles. you may need to bleed the hydraulic line to the slave cylinder.

Most likely a valve tick if its a rod you have major problems, my valves have ticked on and off. Heavy oil makes the noise go away.

Check the main ground to your starter. It sounds to me like your soleniod has power, but you starter motor doesnt.

Horsepower was measured at 195 hp, Torque was 203 lbs/ft, AWD has a 50/50 power split, ABS was an option on AWD models, stock turbo was a 14b turbo, automatics had the 13g turbo, 60mm throttle body, stock side mount intercooler, 430cc injectors i believe.
