Facebook has been having some issues for the last few months and one of them is the chat history. The chat history disappears and it says couldn't retrieve chad history. There are some ways to retrieve it but they won't work every time. If you had a few tabs on facebook and on one of the tabs the chat history vanished try going to a different tab, in most of cases that will work. If you had just one tab on FB and the chat history disappeared try waiting a minute, sometimes the history will return, but it won't work every time.... These methods usually work for me, and if they don't work,I'm sorry, then there's no way to retrieve the chad history. Hope I helped you with your question.
