To change the belt just loosen off the big nut around the ajuster with an appropiate spanner or shifter. This will slacken the belt off. Remove belt. Put new belt on. Can you replace the 2 speed Ford-o-matic transmission in a 1964 Ford Falcon with a C4 automatic transmission and keep the linkage from the 2 speed?

Yes. If it is a six cylinder, you need a 65-67 Bell housing for a 170-200 IL. You can get it off Ebay. You need the block plate, and dustcover. You need to shoten your drive shaft. Change the yoke to 28 spline. New torueconverter. Flexplate will work. You will need transmission mount and bushing. Possibly need starter. You also may have to drill the top of Bell for lever assembly. Now for the tricky part, steering coloum. Needs need ident plate. You need to find or fabricate new linkage. Kick down. Or install a floor shifter. Final drive ration is still one-one. I would consider a t5 conversion with OD. or gear vendors OD.

How do you remove a 1964 Ford Falcon ignition switch from the dash?

To replace the lock cylinder, insert the key and turn the cylinder to the accessory position. Insert the end of a paper clip into the small hole in the face of the cylinder. Continue turning the key counterclockwise while gently pulling on the key. The cylinder should come out after the key is turned approximately 1/8 turn past the accessory position. Once the cylinder is removed, with one hand hold the ignition switch bezel on front of dash firmly in place, while at the same with the other hand reach under the dash, and press the switch body against the back of the dash to compress the spring and turn the switch body counter clockwise. The bezel and body will separate. Gently pull the switch body out from the back of the dash, separate/pry the rubberized wire harness from the switch. Reverse procedure to reinstall. To install the new lock cylinder, index the cylinder so that the key is turned approximately 1/8 turn counterclockwise from the accessory position. You will probably have to insert the paper clip into the hole to turn the key. Insert the lock all the way into the switch and turn the key clockwise until the cylinder locks in place. believe the front chrome trim piece is actually the nut.

How do you change the front wheel bearing on a Ford Falcon AU?

What you do is, you remove the tyre by removing the wheel nuts, then you remove the brake caliper by removing the 2 bolts holding it in place, and the brake disc after that. Depending on the type of bearing it uses, you may need a flat head screw driver to take the old bearing off. When you put the new bearing on, make sure it's properly greased before you put it back on. Then you put the disc back on, caliper and tyre. Make sure the disc is on the steering rack properly

What are the problems for the brake lights not working on a 1995 Chevy silverado you have already checked the bulbs changed the fuse and replaced the brake switch?

Answer

Check the voltage at the brake switch. See if it is adjusted properly to turn the switch ON when the brake pedal is pushed. If that works but the brake lights still do not come on, check the turn signal switch inside the steering column. You will have to remove the steering wheel. Rent or buy a wheel puller, remove the horn button inthe middle of the wheel, remove the horn wire from the electrical connector in the wheel, remove the large nut that holds the wheel in place then use the wheel puller to pull the steering wheel. There may be a large washer looking piece of metal over the switch. The turn signal switch disconnects the brake light for that side when you turn on the signal then the turn signal flashes on that bulb. If the turn signal switch is damaged or just plain worn out it will stop working. Also the problem maybe the bulb panel, for lack of a better word. This is where the three bulbs plug into behind the rear lens. It has a main pig tail that plugs into it giving it power and ground. When the connections in the panel go bad from breakage or corrosion they have to be replaced, around $30 a set.

How do you change the alternator belt on a 1993 Pontiac Bonneville?

Use a wrench to loosen the tensioner which keeps tension on the belt. Once this is loose, pull the belt off of the tensioner. It will then come loose from the remaining pulleys (A/C compressor, water pump, etc.). A diagram should be located on top of the radiator showing the path of the belt to help you know how to install the new one.
