where is the heater fan located on a89 ford festiva

i say it probably not that check under your throttle body your terminal vacumm switch is probably leaking i have a 88 and it has 124,000 and they were both shot which i replaced they runn about $16.00 a piece they have to be special order from parts america.com

Open driver-side door and look up underneath dash next to gas pedel. Then just look straight up you will see electrical wire and screws holding blower fan housing. It takes a little work but easy to replace cost about $60 new.

Its under the right front fender, behind the bumper(passenger side)

Follow the top water hose and you will see the hose go into a pipe that is holding by 2 bolts taken them out and there is your thermostat.

if you cant see no bolts then look at the bottom one and do the same follow that to where is goes and look for 2 bolts :)

I have developed the same problem with my '93 Festiva. What I found was that on the back of the instrument cluster the black plugged wire harness has 2 pins that control power (+) and ground (-) to the dash lights. What I found was there was power at both terminals, thus no ground. When I ground out the (-) the lights came on instantly. I am going to trace the ground wire to see where it is obtaining its power. I will post when I find that out. But its probably the same problem you are having. What I found was that the dimmer switch was damaged internally, sending power through the ground. Changed the switch with one from the scrap yard and it works great. Hope this helps.

www . motorcraft . com ( no spaces - one of Ford's websites ) shows the firing order for the 1988 ( and each year ) Ford Festiva - 1.3 L - 4 cylinder as ( 1 - 4 - 3 - 2 ) but , My large Chilton repair manual for a variety of vehicles , about . com , autozone . com , and another website each has ( 1 - 3 - 4 - 2 ) as the firing order They are in agreement that the distributor rotor turns counterclockwise and that the # 1 cylinder faces the right side of the Festiva .

It is located on the rear left side under the trunk hatch.

You may have a loose ground or a bad connection on the battery or the body ground , check those .

You also may have a alternator going bad , take your car to a parts store and they can check your charging system to see if it is charging enough voltage .

When the alternator does not charge to specs then the light will come on all the time , or when the vehicle is at idle .

once you get behind the glove box and can see the heater core, get a screw driver, wedge, and break. I'm serious, its the same way with VWs. they use an apoxy to keep the core from rattling. just make sure you don't go overboard and break everything around the core. Rubbish this will do nothing but damage!! The correct procedure is 1.Remove the rear section of the centre console covering the park brake lever 2. Remove passengers seat. 3. Remove glovebox 4.Remove centre console. 4.Disconncect heaterbox control cables. 5.Remove heater controls panel 6.Remove steering wheel. 7. Remove instrument facia panel 8.Remove instrument cluster 9.Remove dash end panels left & right side. 10. Remove screw cover in the center of the dash next to the windscreen 11. Remove two securing bolts at each end of the dash inside the access covers, remove screw at center dash area. 12. disconnect round air distribution tubes at each side. 13. unclip wiring from dash where required. 14. pull complete dash away from windscreen at towards rear of car. 15. disconnect remaining electrical connectors as space permits. 16. disconnect heater hoses from in the engine bay 17. Unbolt heater box from firewall manouver a/c box off studs if required. 18. remove heater box from car 19. remove four screws holding heater core in to the heaterbox. 2. remove old heater core and replace with new unit. Revesre the order and the car will be back together all fixed with no damage.

I do not believe the Festiva has a low oil light.... the light you are seeing is likely for oil pressure which has nothing to do with how much oil you have in your engine. you could have a bad oil pump or the gap between your oil pump pickup and oil pan has been smashed out.

1st check fuel filter, air filter, fuel pump. You may also want to run some fuel injector cleaner (or carb cleaner if it's an 88 or 89 without FI).

Also check for any vacume lines which may be split or have come off, check the oil cap and oil dipstick are on tight (seriously), and check the PCV valve is in place and not clogged (you can pull the PCV valve out and shake it up and down. It should rattle just a bit. If not, it's clogged).

If it's only recently started idling improperly, it could be bad gas as well.

Ford Aspire control arms are the same from 1994 to 1997. The left part number is F4BZ-3079A, the right is F4BZ-3078A.

Remove the speedometer cable and driven gear from the transaxle case. Wipe the gear clean and reinsert it. Pull it out again there is a small tab on the driven gear, there is a notch on the tab full in the first intention and below the tab add fluid.
