torque settings for what? Torque settings for head are 91Nm or 68lb/ft Main bearing caps 59Nm or 44lb/ft Con rod caps 55Nm or 40lb/ft Crankshaft sprocket 128Nm or 95lb/ft Camshaft sprocket 60Nm or 45lb/ft

how do u change the rear brake on tx3 1989 how do u push the pin back to put new pads. This is advised that you do not replace the brakes in any car wthout the right knowledge of what to do.

I just recently put a 5" tacho in my 1991 kf laser and mounted it in the little compartment in front of the gear stick.

here is how I wired it up:

First mount your tacho in spot where it isn't blocking any of your vision. Now to wire it up:

(For safety disconnect the negative battery cable)

Black wire (Ground): You can wire it to most bolts that are screwed into metal. I wired it to a bolt on the seat rail. I had to sand it a bit to expose raw metal. Then I just tucked the wire under the plastic beside the seat.

Red wire (power): I ran it straight to my fuse box next to the pedals. I just pulled out the wiper fuse (only has power when car is on) folded the end of the wire over a post of the fuse and plugged it back in. I ran the wire under the steering column.

Green wire (tacho signal): I ran the wire through an existing hole in the firewall I found on the passengers side.

To locate the signal wire which is yellow with a green stripe got to your spark plugs, follow that back to the distributor cap (cap with 5 plugs) follow the middle plugs wire back and it should end at a small 'A' shaped thing with a WHITE plug on one side and a BLACK plug on the other. But bypassing this is a wire with a plug in the middle. On one side of the plug should be a blue wire and on the other side should be the YELLOW with a green stripe!

So what I did was fold the tip of my green wire so it was thicker and slid it in beside the yellow/green stripe wire in the plug. Then I taped it up so it wouldn't come out.

Yellow wire (dimmer): This wire dims your tacho when the headlights Are on. (so it isn't as bright) If you do wNt this wire connected, connect it the same way as the power wire but connect it to the headlight fuse.

Now reconnect the negative battery cable and hide Away all your wiring and test your tacho. :)

Unless your handy with the spanners, let a mechanic do it as you have to remove timing belt also, big job..

inside the engine bay, it should be stamped into the chasis where the drivers side suspension strut is

The number is stamped on the top of the block behind the cam cover under the petrol pump

the reason why water may get into transmission is due to the cooler for the trans oil is located inside the coolant radiator.and so the coolant is at higher presuure than the trans oil and it passes through a crack in the cooler.best option is to replace radiator and flush transmission many times with clean oil.afte this you may have slippage problem twith trans due to water still contaminated in trans.

The most common fault is the ignition module in the dissy which breaks down when warm.

The Tach sensor is connected to the positive terminal of the ignition coil at least that where my laser's factory tachometer is connected to. I believe Ghia and Sport models 1981 - 1984 have factory installed tachs

the engine in a 84 ford laser is not ethanol compatible & will run like a sack of crap if you use fuel that contains any ethanol

just did a whole sound system on my 1990 KE laser so im guessing it will be the same. Its literally as easy as taking the cover off, pullling the speakers out, cut the wires and then connect ur new speakers in. May have to fiddle to figure out which is positive and negative terminal. 4"Speakers fit perfectly into the hole and 6" speakers fit perfectly in the back........hope this has helped:P

I did this recently on my 1989 Laser 4-door Station Wagon, probably similar.

1. Wind the window on the door with the broken quater-light fully down. 2. Remove the inside trim from the door. 3. There is a vertical metal strip that seperates the sliding window from the quarterlight. It is held at it's bottom end by one bolt, which you can see on the inside of the door. Tear a small hole in the clear plastic door-lining, push a socket through and loosen the bolt SLIGHTLY, but DO NOT REMOVE IT.

4. At the top of the vertical metal strip, pull the rubber door sealer from the door, so you can see under it. You'll see a phillips-head screw holding the top end of the vertical strip to the door. Remove this screw.

5. Tilt the vertical strip forward, into the space that would be occupied by the sliding window if it was closed. The strip is pivoting on the lower bolt that you loosened but didn't remove.

6. There is now enough space to insert the new quarterlight, complete with it's rubber sealing strip, ito the space behind the vertical metal strip.

7. Reassembly is obvious.

Use hacksaw! just cut the steering wheel and presto! you already removed your steering wheel

Make sure all of the pulleys are turning freely. If there is a bad bearing, it could be causing some friction that ends up weakening the belt and resulting in a broken belt. It could be too tight to. You should have about 12mm deflection in the middle of the longest space.

Buy a new car to replace the faulty thermostat

Follow the top radiator hose to the motor. The thermostat is in the housing that the hose is attached to and held by two bolts. Use a new gasket and sealant on fitting the housing.
