What size is the gas tank in a 2006 Ford Ranger?
In a 2006 Ford Ranger :
The ( SuperCab ) is ( 73.8 litres / 19.5 U.S. gallons )
the simplest way is to undo screws holding contactor in place then change wire for wire approx cost $40 you will neeed to turn of power at the furnace and at the outdoor unit as there is both high and low voltage at the contactor
This is a good question because the contactor and capacitor are some commonly ruined yet easily replaced components. It would be helpful if someone explained in laman's terms how to remove the possibility of being electrocuted while replacing a contactor and capacitor. I know one way is to attach something called a "resistor" to some part of the capacitor, but I'm not sure about the specifics. There is probably a way to discharge the voltage with a household item, but I'm not aware of it.

How do you change a fuel pump on a 1997 Ford Ranger?
go to autozone.com and you can yse the online repair manuals and print out step by step instructions to replace the fuel pump
AnswerDrain the fuel tank, disconnect the fuel tank straps, disconnect the hoses and electrical connector from the fuel pump, use a spanner wrench to loosen the nut securing the pump to the tank. Installation is reversal of removal. Now here is a better idea, cut a hole in the bed of the truck and remove it that way and/or reove the bed of the truck and slide it away from the tank. Your choice!Better answer
The best way to change the fuel pump is to take the bed off the truck, it is very simple. You have 6- T-55 screws in your bed remove them. Disconnect the filler hose, it is 3- screws forgot the size. Its a small metric. Remove to gas cap, and take the tail lights out and bulbs. Extremelely easy, its really hard to get the tanks back into place even without fuel. You would need atleast two people to replace it. But all the tool you need is a t-55 hex, i believe a 8m socket and a Phillips screwdriver.
***** ^ is the best answer, but to clarify, the filler neck bolts are 7mm, and all you need to do is unplug the tail light assemble harness located under the rear bumper and the lenses and bulbs can be moved with the box.

you could check for oil pressure , could be a fault in the oil pressure sensor that is holding the pump out. i have seen some of these trucks have a loose ground wire near the fuel pump also
cutlikeabuffalo oil pressure? its not running yet!!! electric fuel pump has nothing to do with oil pressure before start-up. check for fuel supply to throttle body or rails. a fuel pressure test will determine sufficient supply,u could also just loosen a fitting to check for presence of fuel being pumped up to engine. restriction could also be due to clogged inline filter or blockage at pickup tube inside tank. This would more likely generate a rough running or low power condition , however it "should" still fire. Check for power to pump @ connector 3pin near driver side rear of truck wire loom going from frame rail to pump at top of fuel tank, yes it could be a poor ground. Ground wire from pump side of connector to frame. If no power work forward from there. Check breaker/ fuse/ relay and wiring. a point to point voltage drop test would be the best way to locate hidden resistance in the wiring , a break, short ,or corrosion. If good power and no fuel, either pump is not running, (u can usually hear it work when key is first turned on for a few seconds) or there is a restriction.
