The Geo Metro was a small economy car produced between 1989 and 2001. The first generation model was available as 3-door and 5-door hatchback, as well as 4-door notchback sedan. It came in three trim levels: XFi, Base and LSi.

Why wont my 92 geo metro start i have spark and fuel to carb but engine will not start why?

I'm not sure but it could have a bad cam or crank sensor. Check with your local parts store and see if your car has one or both of these sensors. Here's what I found, (this was on a 96 and they have Throttle Body Injection, so I don't know if this helps, but I have a 92 metro vert as well, and it has TBI too) and lucky for me I had a parts car. I had spark and fuel to TBI, but TBI was not releasing any fuel. I replaced everything, crank sensor, TBI, and all sensors, I was going crazy. It ended up being some kind of square rectifier 2x2" on the drivers upper fire wall that has another sensor attached on the assembly. Swapped them out (whole assembly two 10mm bolts) and she fired right up.

What size are the rear speakers in a 1996 GEO?

Where is a 1991 four door Geo Metro made?

i would imagine, seeing that most GEO's made before 1996 were manufactured in Japan, that your's is probably a Japanese vehicle. my 1995 2-door hatchback was made there; i found this out by popping open the hood and seeing the "Made in Japan" sticker next to the engine diagram in there.....

ANSWER

This is not entirely true, the engine is a 4 cylinder suzuki engine which is built in japan. The actual assembly of the vehicle was done in Canada.

Does a 1997 Geo Metro have a modulator valve?

Are you referring to the transmission? If so, the answer is no.

Why are all Geo Metro's such bright colors?

Bright colors are much more visible on the road. If you drive a vehicle that's white or yellow or red, you will decrease the likelihood of having an accident at the risk of getting more tickets. Orange is most effective. Why are firetrucks red?

Manufacturers figure the fewer accidents part is good for them, since it reduces expenses related to their possible liability. They don't care if you get more tickets, but mostly it's marketing. They they think bright cars sell. My '91 geo convertible is red. Kudos to Suzuki for engineering such a beautiful machine. 193000 mi.

How do you check radiator fan?

unplug the coolant sensor and turn on the ignition without starting the engine. The fan will run.

How do you get the air out of the cluch line?

Bleed clutch. Start with a full reservoir of brake fluid. It doesn't hold much, so make sure it does not run dry during bleeding. The rubber thing on the bleeder screw should be transferred to new slave cylinder. It slides out to notch in bleeder screw and acts as spout during bleeding to prevent fluid from running down side of tranny. But I've never used it. Procedure: Have helper sit in truck, and you get under truck with 11mm wrench. Have the helper stroke the clutch fully 4 times stopping with the pedal on the floor. While pedal is held against the floor, open the bleeder screw and let air/oil escape. Firmly retighten screw after the discharge ends while pedal is still on the floor. Tell your helper to repeat the 4 strokes, stopping on the floor. Repeat this cycle about 3 times as necessary to get a clutch that "feels like new". A very small amount of air will work itself out over the next day or two.

Where does transmission fluid go in 1991 Geo Metro automatic?

Remove the transmission dipstick and insert a funnel into the metal tube. Be careful you don't over fill though.

Can a non crank sensor Geo Metro 1.0L work in a Geo Metro that had a crank sensor or will I have to exchange the oil pan and front cover behind the crank pully of the non crank sensor engine?

it can work! but you need exchange de oil pan, oil pump, timing gear, and timing belt cover! also the ditribuitor, I did already on my 97 Geo , using a 95 motor and it work perfect! sounds complicate but is real ease!

How can you unlock a 1993 Geo Metro without the keys?

i have a 94 geo, and have locked my keys in it a few times. the trick i found involved a long stick with a slight curve in it, about 3 feet long. the passenger door of mine has quite a bit of give (this may be a fluke) but i just pry the door open at the top rear corner and unlock it with the stick. I have a 93 Geo and was locked out on several occassions. I tried shimmying the lock open with a clotheshanger through the space between the window and door but found that forcing the window down and then using the hook of the clotheshanger to either roll the window down slightly or unlock the door was easier and much faster.

How long does a 2000 Geo Metro lsi last?

It pretty much has to do with preventive maintenance and TLC over the years. Winter driving will take a toll. A car that has been well maintained should be reliable and last many kilometers/miles.

What is the engine oil capacity for a 3 cylinder 94 geo metro?

Why is the fan switch only working on 3 and 4 and not on 1 and 2?

I suspect that 1 & 2 have a different relay than 3 & 4. The relay is likely under the hood, on the firewall. check blower motor resister!!

A 1993 geo metro with a 1.0L engine that is blowing black soot or smoke What would be the cause of this?

It sounds like your engine is in need of a ring job. I imagine your also losing a significant amount of oil and possibly water as well. I dare say that the head gasket isn't far behind. Your engine needs rebuilt.

Why doesn't your 1995 Geo Metro shift into overdrive?

Could be a bad overdrive solenoid switch or relay. No, I don't know where they are on this car.

How do you replace outside door handle on 1993 Geo Metro LSI?

I'm working the same problem on my 92 Geo Prism, which may be the same or different. You got the door pannel off the inside yet? The roll up window is held on by a spring clip. Hook onto it with a bent cheap screw driver and pop it off. The inside door handle is held by a Phillips screw, then nudge the plastic piece forward to unhook it from the sheet metal. Pop the trim off the arm rest to expose the two Phillips screws. Pop the rest of the panel off with a firm pull. The top hard plastic stays on, just slide the panel out from under it.

Take off the plastic plug and you can reach the hex screws to loosen the exterior door handle. The hard part is removing the two coat hanger rods from the key lock and the plastic door handle. I broke the door handle (again) with my bare hands. Now I'm looking patiently for the replacement part. I could swear I saw on on internet fot $20 but can't see it now. Called two parts stores and three junk yards so far without luck.
