What would cause a 96 Geo tracker to keep stalling just replaced the O2 sensor?
HI, Have you looked at your EGR valve? our air cleaner could be real dirty, the mass airflow sensor could be bad, Ther's any number of things that could be bad or wrong. Have you had your codes read? The reasdout from the OBD can lead you in the right direction. The problem I found is that it raeds from the last component failure or problem and it stores fropm the most significat problem first so you get one thing done then you go to the net. I have a '97 2dr auto 4wd abd I've gone through many things and I'm still not done. I'm glad we're all here to help each other. Good luck and keep asking if thyou find out. Steve H.

Will a westin safari light bar off a 97 geo tracker fit a 96 geo tracker?
Hi, According to their web site the only have mounting instruction sheets for back as far as '97. You would need to look at where it's mounted on the '97 and look at the structure of the '96 and compare. http://www.westinautomotive.com/pages/westin%20safari%20light%20bar%20apps-ALL.html#chevy That's the web site where you can download a PDF of the mounting instructions. I sure hope this helps you. Good luck. Steve
How about resetting Check Engine light on 97 Geo Tracker Where's that switch?
Hi, The port where the OBD or instrument where the garage or tech needs to hook up to is located to the right of the steering column down near the left side of the console. That's the only way I know of that a '97 can be reset, I have a '97 and have had to go through this a few times and have seen it done. I'm not willing to buy a code reader yet. Hope this helps and good luck. Steve H.
buzzzzz, close.
its an OBD2 car and all code readers and scanners can do this task.
as will pulling the DOME fuse , reset it.
but if something is wrong and you power reset it you loose the DTC.
Diagnostic trouble codes,
so go to any auto store as say, lplease mister , pull me CEL codes.
free.
or buy a code reader $26 + free shiipping from fleebay.
have family members chip in lousy $5 , and not be helpless.
just 2 trips to AZ pays for the silly reader. (gas saved)

Look to the alt. belt. It may squeal under load.
How do you tow dolly a 1966 mustang?
The best way would be to remove the drive shaft from the vehicle before towing. Many transmissions do not circulate the transmission oil or fluid unless the engine is running. Removing the drive shaft will keep the rear output on the transmission from turning while towing it.
Will a 1994 Geo tracker hard top fit on a 1993 tracker?
If it fit on a 1994, then it will fit on your 1993 with no problem.....
What do Geo Trackers get for gas mileage?

Where is the location of heater core in a 97 Geo Tracker?
Hi, The heater core is under the dash but down low . You have to take apart some of the heater ductwork to get to it. I'm curious as to why you need to get the heate rcore? Is your heat mnot coming out? Is there fluid dripping under the dash, because that can mean the core or a hose is leaking. If you would please add a bit more then we can guide a bit more. If you know your core is leaking, and need to get it out, then please e-mail me and I'll talk. shandmal@comcast.net Steve H.
Replaced the clutch in a 96 Geo Tracker and now there is not enough adjustment in the cable?
you forget to say, is it too loose or too tight? guess at latter.
there are 3 cables.
one for older.
one for 2dr
one for 4dr and
96+ has rubber mounted mushroom on end of cable.
so if you have the correct cable
if you removed either of the two slined levers on
the clutch bell main shaft or the lever on the pedal you really really messed up. because there is no written procedure for that.
tell more ,get more. fast.

What are the 2 wires coming out of the rear end for?
Hi, I have looked at my own and I don't find any wires coming from the rear axle assy. I must assume that you are referring to the rear axle assy. If this is not what you are talking about, please explain your question differently. Another thing to do is go under the vehicle and try and trace what you're seeing and come back with a better picture of what you see. I hope this helps and we look forward to hearing from you. Steve H.
Will a speedometer cluster from a 98 sidekick work in a 97 geo tracker?
From what I've seen . . . yes. It appears 1996 -1998 was a run on most everything dealing with chassis and dash parts between the X-90, Sidekick, and Tracker.

How do you refill the manual transmission fluid in a 1990 Geo Tracker?
There is a fill plug on the right side of the transmission, square hole in the side of it. Use a 3/8 drive ratchet to remove it. Or you can remove the shifter from the top of the transmission and fill it with1 and a half quarts of gl4 gear oil.
How do you remove the rear brake drum when changing the shoes on a 93 Geo Tracker 2WD?
There's no secret to removing Tracker drums. Four nuts hold the drum to the inner hub. Remove those, ensure the parking brake is off and the drum should slip right off. If not, you may have to pry out the rubber plugs on the back of the brake backing plate and use a screwdriver to rotate the adjusters until the brake shoes get slack enough to allow the drum to come off.
Expect to replace the 4 studs and the nuts that hold the drum on. These and the wheel studs and nuts fail and cross thread worse than any other car I've ever owned.
There is a discussion of this here... http://tinyurl.com/yoc7vy there are several opinions.
