Hi, I'm showing the air bag fuse to be under the dash to the left of the steering column. If you're removing the dash, there are two other connectors to disconnect. The first is inside the steering column cover, it's a yellow connector inside the inflator module housing the other is behind the glove box, just open it and press the box stop tabs in and the glove box drops forward and the connector is right there on the right. Upon further invesigation I withdraw my answer (below). Apparently 1996 and newer cars have and OBD2 Computer, which means you have to pay a lot more to get the code. Sorry if I threw anybody off prevously.

[The easiest way I have found is to turn the ignition on and off three times (on, off, on, off, on). When you do this, the check engine light will flash the trouble code (ie. blink-blink-blink..pause..blink-blink = 32). If you have a repair manual, the codes should be listed in there. I have done this with every car I've owned it's way cheaper than spending the money on a scan tool that will tell you the same thing.]

Hi, Typically a speedometer is a non-repairable item. You can remove the instrument cluster and take it apart and see if you can play with it and you might be rewarded for your efforts, but...? The speedometer cable might be disconnected at one end or the other or the cable might have broken then it's a replacement that will be needed. When you remove the cable, jkust spin it and see if turns, also see if the speedometer sill move when you have the instrument cluster out. If the speedometer is in fact broken, then your best bet is to try a local salvage yard, we used to cal them junk yards, and see if they have a Tracker that is the same as yours and buy an instrument cluster from them also check E-Bay. Sounds like your bands are shot, this is an expensive repair.

In many cars, the cigar lighter and the car's horn are on the same electrical circuit. This is done as neither horn nor lighter would ever be used constantly while traveling.

You need to remove the grill. There is a screw on each fender(inside near bumper) and one screw in center of grill. Also two clips, one above each headlight. Once the grill is removed, should be easy.

Locking hubs were not an option on this vehicle as built for the united states. If you truly have them this vehicle needs a mechanic eye to tell you how to replace there are many types pf locking hubs available after market additions

Hi, Since I don't have one and I have a soft top, I have to assume you might have a hardtop? If you have a hardtop whether factory or aftermarket, it sounds like the place where the rear defrost switch would be. I hope this answers your question. Steve H.

Hi, from what I know and can see, it's right next to the air cleaner box located in the large tube that leaves the air cleaner box. Good luck.

By taking it to an expert or buying a repair manual with detailed instructions & photos. If this is an interference engine and you do it wrong, serious engine damage will occur when you attempt to start the engine. Make sure it is done correctly! only the 16valve engines have the interference issue- the earlier, 8 valve engines are not an interference fit (generally 1993 and earlier).

Hi, The starter can be a real pain and a job that is easier left to someone that does this stuff all the time. I'm speaking on recent experience. My starter was flaky and every now and then wouldn't work, so I carried a long metal piece or the lug wrench to hit the starter when it wouldn't work, I'd hit it and have my wife turn the key until it worked. When I bought a used starter and was going to replace it, I could get my fingers on one of the bolts holding it in, the outside one, and could barely touch the in- side one, I had my mechanic do it. He had a tough time getting to the inside one but he had a real bending extension and a mirror. The job took him about an hour and a little bit. It was worth having him do the job, it wasn't easy. Clean the horn contacts(three on the front and one one the back side) and check the ground connection on the steeing wheel. Mine did the same thing when I tested the horn using the switch wire on the steering wheel to test my fix.

The 2002 Geo Tracker flasher relay switch is located beneath the dashboard, on the driver side of the passenger compartment. The flasher relay switch simply plugs in and out.

Our 1995 Tracker Sidekick has a spare on the rear door , it has a tire lock that your ignition or door key should unlock, however our keys do not fit the lock. I may have to drill or grind it off and replace it with anotherone
