Hi, The refrigerant used has been R-12 in these older vehicles. Today, the refrigerant used is R-134a. Vehicles that are still using the older R-12 should convert to the newer R-134a. There are many places that can convert your car to the newer refrigerant. I had a car done at a local Oil Doctor but most places that advertise air conditioning service can make the change. Hope this helps and is timely for you. Steve H. you can also get a conversion kit at a local parts store like performance parts or advance or any of the chains, it cost me 35 bucks, if your system has not operated in a while you need to get a vaccuum check. if there is a leak in the compressor another 30 bucks can buy some stuff to fix it, if there is a leak in the lines, it may be as simple as a 20 cent o-ring or a new line but the fix stuff for the compressor does not fix lines just compressor leaks.

The fuel pump relay on a 96 Geo Tracker is located in the main fuse box. It is positioned along the right side of the engine compartment, inside a water tight enclosure.

There are 4 Philips screws that hold the steering column cover together.They are located underneath. Two in the front, two in the rear.Pop the cover off and you will have access to the ignition switch.On the left side, there is the electronic part of the switch that is held in with a Philips screw. To take this screw out, you will need an offset screwdriver, or one of the Philips screwdrivers with a very short handle.

call your local autozone and ask them I have a 94 1.6l and fuel pressure there is 24.5 - 29.9 psi (approx)

Hi, Not necessarilly. It could be either your main relay or your fuel pump relay.I would check either one of these before you go and pull your fuel pump. You may have a mechanical fuel pump. Do you have a carbuerated engine or fuel injected? Probably fuel injected which puts the pump in the tank not a good job. Up in the air a bit but those are my best. Steve H. quick fix, on left kick panel wiring harness goes into body. the wires go to rear of vehicle. find the pink wire w/black stripe. install inline blade fuse holder and piggyback to ignition wire (power on) coming out of steering colum white wire w/green stripe. this will turn on fuel pump when key is in on pos. i changed relays to no avail unplugged all wire connectors under the dash and found no burn outs etc. this worked for me. jp

Near the back of the engine in the middle there is a dipsick. Take out the dipstick and put a funnel in there and fill it up with about 4-5 quarts of oil if your changing the fluid. Use dexronIII fluid.

The lower right hand fuse closest to the transmission tunnel is the fuse, if there is 1 in there already! then you are probly getting codes flashing all the time with engine running or not. IF code 12 ONLY with engine OFF just remove the fuse.

235/75/15 is the biggest that will fit with no lift not true my stock 94 geo tracker has 255/70/15 and drives just fine

Yes, but its a lot of work, you've got to change the transmission, put a front axle in it and all of its parts you've got to go inside then and move the consol so you can put the shift thru, cause the hole for it is there its just covered up.

The roof on the Geo Tracker is not designed to lower, it folds back similar to a sun roof. Release the levers behind the sun visors and fold the top back.

My guess would be a plugged catalytic convertor. If the tailpipe stays cold, that pretty much confirms it. Let me know if that helps.

just below the front crankshaft pulley 2 inches to the rear ,see wire and conn.

you might be able to adjust it down at the trany, but it would be better to just replace the hole cable

or if GL5 must also say on the bottle safe for syncromesh or manual transmissions.

GL4 is for tranny

GL5 is for axles.

this is in the operators guide in the glove box.

the starter is located on top of the transimission. the top bolt is extremely hard to get to and the bottom bolt can be reached from the underside of the vehicle
