I am not trying to sound stupid, this is my question. There is a radiator cap and the overflow bottle as well, but the cap only turns slightly but will not lift off, and before I break something I just want to know that it will come off.

The easiest way is to open the passenger side fog light. Then u can see the sensor connected to the wind shield fluid container, u can unplug it by moving it slowly and pulling it!

Follow the upper rad hose to the engine. You will need to remove the engine cover. To remove the cover turn the oil filler neck (not the cap).

My 89 Mpv's is located right in the middle of the engine compartment underneath the intake.Its is an inline pcv so follow the hose up to it.

Losen the exhaust cross over and take off temp sensor

It should take about 4 1/2 quarts of oil.

On your alternator, there should be two bolts on either side of the alternator. Losen the surentine belt up enoungh to slide off the pully of the alternator. Remove the two bolts on both sides of the alternator and slide the alternator up.

Follow the upper radiator hose from the radiator to the engine. It should be in the metal housing the hose is clamped to.

or simpler answer-behind front wheel well on drivers side.

there is a gm service bulletine about issues with these.the bulletine suggests relocating intake tube to inside fender.

do a google serch for 04-06-04-037

1. Insert an existing programmed working key into the ignition cylinder.

2. Turn ignition to the ON position for 5 seconds, then back to OFF position.

3. Remove the existing key and within 5 seconds insert new key and turn

it to the ON positiion for 5 seconds.

4. Turn key OFF then back to ON. The key is now programmed.

Start vehicle to test key.

The lower right side of the firewall. There is a wire harness grommet already there it's tight but I got a 0 gauge wire through by greasing the wire first.

Stay with the stock wheel size so you dont need to get new computer parts, or if you don`t car weather or not your speedometer is correct, whatever can fit. But 20 inch and up just looks stupid in my opinion.

10W-30 is a pretty standard oil but it depends on where you live and what type of climate/temperature10W-40.

Stand outside your car holding the remote up against the Driver side window. Hold the Lock and Unlock buttom simultaneously on your remote while pointing your remote at the steering wheel. After about 30 sec. you will hear your horn beep. Your remote has been re-set and should now work.

It should be under 15.00 dollars. I am doing just that today. The glass cut to size was $1.50, the glazing compound was about $5.00 and the glazing putty knife was like $6.00 dollars. Good luck!

If the trouble is the speedometer itself, you can't; but it could be the sending unit and that can be replaced fairly easily. If you remove the right front wheel and move the skirt it can be seen on top of the transaxle extension. If your speedometer AND odometer have ceased to work this is the culprit but if the odometer works accurately but not the speedometer you need another instrument cluster to get a new speedometer.

look under the hood and check the fuse box holder use a light tester to check them the one that don't light up replace it.

My 87 had a relay next to the battery that had a broken wire. I could hear it click when I turned the switch on, but the lights were off. Took about two minutes to find it and ten to reattach the wire ( I used a crimp and a shrink tube). Be patient and fix it right. The cops will stop you for no tail lights, and that's the same circuit.

if you had it tested for the egr valve at auto zone or somewhere like that, it may not be that. Could be that carbon is built up in the intake and all it needs is cleaned out...alot cheaper

I just replaced mine a month ago. There are two sensors, one on the engine and the other is under the car right before the catalytic converter. The one on the engine is next to the rear spark plugs. It's almost on the steering column. Use a slotted socket to allow the socket to go over the wire that comes out. I got my socket at Sears for $15. It's labled as an oxygen sensor socket. For the one under the car you can use a 7/8th (if I remember corectly) wrench to remove it. This is about a 30 minute job.

the thermostat is located in the housing where the top radiator hose enters the engine. Note: there is also a brass screw on the top of the housing, this is to bleed the air from the cooling system when you replace the thermostat (or do other cooling system repairs)

It may be the sensor inside the gas tank has become dirty. Purchase some gas tank cleaner from any automotive store. Fill your tank up with gas and pour one can into the tank. You may have to do this a second time. This was my problem. My fuel gauge stopped reading correctly and after I cleaned the senor with the additive everything works fine. Hope this helps.

where to locate heater fuses for a 2001 grand prix gt

Order a key from e-bay, when you get it , go on line to ,www.programyour remote .com. Follow the instructions, I did my own this way, saved a bundle. good luck.

First remove the plastic engine cover by un-screwing the oil filler neck from the engine (not just the cap but the whole tube). Lift off cover. Then find the thermostat housing (follow large hose coming from top of radiator). Get a rag or towel so coolant doesn't splash on you. Locate the bleeder screw on top of the thermostat housing (10mm screw). Run the engine for 5 mins. or so until it gets up to temperature. Leave engine running and slowly turn the bleeder screw counter-clockwise until only coolant is coming out. Re-tighten screw and replace engine cover. I just replaced the thermostat on my '04 so I know it works.

I just did this and the screw is a two piece screw, the 10 mm part need not be turned on my car ('04 GP GT2), instead the top part of the screw which was a 7 mm is to be turned to let the system bleed off.
