How do you turn inside brake warning light off or reset it on a Lexus ES300?
you are either low on brake fluid, the Ebrake switch is on or you have air in your brake lines. try lifting the ebrake and see if the light gets brighter. If it does, try unpluging the wire that goes to the brake master cylinder. If this don't work then i recomend taking it to a shop to have it looked at! Good Luck... Michael
on my 97 es300 the brake light was staying on because ebrake inside of back rotor was worn all the way down and system was sensing this.
How do you replace the front turn signal bulb located on a 1991 Honda Accord?
Hey Melissa==You can remove the bulb fronm the rear of the light and replace it. GoodluckJoe
For Melissa and others:
I will describe this as a left side change. Reverse left/right directions for the other side.
Use a Philips head screw driver to remove the turn signal housing/lens assembly. The screw remains captive in the housing.
The screw is hard to see. Your screwdriver will fit in a hole in the bumper cover, just to the left of the orange signal lens, at an angle, pointing toward the left front wheel.
After a few turns, gently pry the lens from the left end outward toward the right. If it doesn't come nicely, turn the screw some more.
Once the housing is out, you can easily turn the bulb holder 1/4 turn to remove it and subsequently the bulb.
I'd add that the right side of the lens housing (for the left side change described above) is held in only by a tab--so sliding the lens from right to left as you pry on the left side should pop the whole housing out.
Where is the speedometer sensor in a 1995 Honda Accord?
I'm not too sure about the 1994 Honda accord because i don't have one myself. However, in most cars the speedometer sensor is located on the transmission, close to the point of engagement between the transmission and the front axle. The speedometer is attached tho the transmission with bolt(s) depending on the car.
99 Honda accord lx timing belt and balancer belt?
Replace both belts at 105,000 miles. This is an interference engine and as such it is critical that you replace these belts. If the cam belt breaks you will have serious engine damage.
How can you replace spark plugs on a 2001 Jaguar XK8?
Had the same problem with 1990 Sovereign 4 L. If you still have the Jag tool kit you will find a long Hexagonal sparkplug remover , with an accessory insert bar.
The jag remover has a plastic insert which grips the top of the plugs, gently but strongly enough to lift the plugs out, after undoing them (anti-clock ). If you haven't this tool, you could find out the recommended plug sizes from Auto Spares Shop, and measure the diameter of the plugs hexagonal . On the XJ6 this was 17mm.
Considerable force was required to initially loosen each plug. If you have no plastic insert in the sparkplug hex spanner, perhaps just go fishing , after undoing , with each cylinder's sparkplug lead.
Rex.
1. remove the six 7mm screws covering the coils on the center of each cam cover. 2. next using a small screw driver press with you finger on each coil connector and at the same time use the screw driver on the lip of the connector to slide it off carefully. doo this for all 4 coils. 3. lift the wiring harness out of the channel, note where the harness enters at the rear of the cover. 4. remove the 7mm bolts holding the coils. remove the coils in order so you but them back in the same spot. unlike the 1990. the spark plugs are 5/8 size spark plug socket. 5. in auto. "Lefty loosey/tighty righty. turn the plugs counter clockwise. 6. using a extion magnet remove the plugs. DO NOT let anything fall into the holes. check the inside walls of the spark plug tubes for oil, the most common cause of misfire is oil fowling in the tubes, water ingess to the coil cover. 7. replace plugs with factory or tripple platnium plugs only.
8. when reinstall after you connect the coil wiring harness run a bead of silicone around the wiring harness where it enters the cover this prevents water from running down the harness and into the coil cover.
You know how when you press on the gas pedal the car goes faster? The throttle is the part of the engine assembly that opens to let more air into the engine and simultaneously sends in more fuel, thereby making the engine put out more power, making the wheels go faster. On injected vehicles an air valve assembly is connected to the throttle mechanism to allow more air when the gas pedal is pushed. At the same time, a throttle position sensor determines how much you have pressed the pedal and the computer, sensing the positon change, causes the injectors to deliver the appropriate amount of fuel into the throttle-body or manifold (depending on the type of injection system).
What does a vacuum line diagram look like for a 1987 Honda Accord LX?
On a 1987 Honda Accord the vacuum diagram will have several different hoses running around the engine bay. The lines are placed around several different mechanical parts that receive air to function properly.
1993 came equipped with R-12. Sorry, but that kind of refrigerant is VERY expensive, and you cannot buy it without a licence. If the system has not already been converted to R-134a, then you may want to consider it. You can go to a parts store, and ask the parts counter person to help you figure out what parts you need and how to do it. If you do get some R-12, try it--it's pretty easy--buy a bottle that has a pressure indicator on it, and insert its nozzle into one of the refrigerant valves, under the hood, that sticks up (they're usually silver-colored--check your car's manual, or online info sources, for exact location). Follow the instructions that come with the canister of refrigerant. If you don't know whether anything else is wrong with your car's air conditioning, this is the first thing to try, but be aware that often this won't fix the problem, as the problem may be elsewhere. One cause is sometimes a stuck air blend door, which you might be able to get to by removing the glove compartment (instructions are to be found on the Internet--otherwise, you'd have to remove the entire dashboard), but one way to test whether the blend door is stuck, is to listen for its motor humming as you move the hot-to-cold dial back and forth between hot and cold. If you hear the motor humming when you do this, and no clicking (caused by a stuck blend door), the motor is probably OK, but the blend door may have broken loose from the blend door motor. Getting inside and taking a look will tell you what's happening with these parts.
How do you rest the oil mainentance light on a 2006 Honda Accord SE?

The edge of your rim is bent will this cause a problem?
I was driving against the curb on my left side for a second and now the edge of the plate rim is bent. I don't think anything is wrong with the bolts that secure it to the wheel, it's just the edge of the plate that is usually tucked underneath the tire...
If that part is untucked and bent outward, will it cause any problems? And how can I get it fixed without paying too much?
Thank you.
How do you reset the maintenance required light after 60000 miles on a 1998 Honda Accord LX 2.2L?
--DudeItsAHonda
You take it to the dealer (or a very knowledgable specialist shop - for a Honda one should be fairly easy to find locally, and have the required servicing done...
At 60,000 miles, many modern cars require replacement of the timing belt. Although the procedure is probably the most costly of the Scheduled Maintenance Items, unlike many more mundane items such as changing the wiper blades, oil, or tires, failure to replace this belt in a timely (pardon the pun) fashion will, in most modern cars, *DESTROY* the engine when (not if---*when*) the timing belt does fail.
Common Parts to Replace a Timing Belt: Timing Belt 3-5 Miscellaneous pulleys Hydraulic belt tensioner assembly and pulley. On some cars, this is a good time to replace the water pump, since you're already pulling the front of the engine that far apart, anyway. Total cost: $600-800 is probably not unreasonable.

Common parts to replace
I'm not entirely sure about the Accord, but this answer works for the same year of Civic, Prelude, and Acura (Honda) Integra. It will probably work for the Accord, too. On the typical Honda gauge layout, there is a small, rectangular, recessed button directly to the left of the "Maintenance Required" light. Using your car key, you can press this button in, which will cause the light to turn green. The maintenance light (at least on my Civic) will come on about every 4000 miles if not reset (for oil changes), and also periodically for other scheduled maintenance.
on the '97 accord in the dash panel layout, near the mileage, is a small black box, your key should fit right into it, push it in and it should go away. you can also look in the owner's manual, it'll say in there. the light usually comes on after so many miles, and most places that aren't the dealer won't know to put the key in there to reset it so it might come on before maintenance is needed.
With the key off, hold down the trip meter reset button. turn the key on and continue holding the reset button in until the maintenance light goes off, about 10 seconds. Source: owners manual.
97 Honda Accord LX
Just push in the black button next to the Maintenance required light after you have changed the oil in all the way and the light will turn green again. Works in mine. No key in the ignition required.
How do you turn off the maintenance required light on a 1999 Honda Accord Sedan?
To reset the MAINTENANCE REQUIRED light:- Have key inserted in ignition but in the OFF or LOCKED position.- Push and hold the trip reset button on the right bottom corner of your gauge clutster. (this is the same button that you use to reset your mileage counter)- Turn key to full ON position and continue holding the button till the light goes off. (at least 10 seconds)
The above is true for Honda accord models upto 2001 and possibly for newer ones too.
How do you replace a spark plug on a 1998 Grand Prix GTP?
The front 3 are easy. I just did mine in my 2000 gtp. To get at the back 3 you will need to remove the top engine mounts and then pull the engine forward and place something to brace it. You will find it easy to remove them. 00gtp
How many miles to change brake on Honda accord 2003?
Back when brakes contained asbestos, you could count on changing brakes every 20,000 to 30,000 miles (or more for really high end pads and shoes). Now that brakes are constructed of ceramics and dessicated metal, it is not so easy to guestimate by mileage.
The best gauge you have is the manner in which you drive. If you drive with two feet (one on the throttle one on the brake) count on changing brakes as often as ever 4-5,000 miles. If you anticipate your stops, and use the engine to decelerate, then you might be able to stretch this out to 10-20,000 miles. Either way, count on changing pads at least once a year, so it is best to invest in lifetime pads so you only pay once.
I agree with the first paragraph of this answer but the second paragraph is for the most part totally incorrect. If you drive normally, mixed city & highway driving, you can expect to get at least 40,000 miles on your brake pads before they need changing. If you drive mostly highway then you may get 70 to 80,000 miles before you need to change the pads. You will be warned when the pads need replacing by a high pitched squealing noise when you stop. The very first time you hear that noise have the pads replaced.
How do you replace the cabin filter on a 2000 Accord?
Buy a Fram air filter CF-8603. Follow the step by step directions on the back of the box. This is not difficult and the box directions actually work!! (the directions could be clearer, but they work). I just did it, not hard.
Just a few details that might make it easier to understand. First, the air filters (2) are located behind the glove box. As to how to access the filters, the above will work, or you can view a PDF at www.pureoil.com (Purolator Filter page) and click through cabin air filter, and part no. C15390. Be patient, you will have to remove the glove box and the panel below it, so allow yourself 30-45 minutes. Of serious note, when I removed mine, they were totaly filthy...you should definitely consider changing them if you have read this far.
What does it mean if the 'S' on the dashboard of a 1991 Honda Accord LX keeps blinking?
I am having the same problem. The "S" light on my 91 Honda Accord is staying lit up. I am worried about it, so anyone, please help. the vss is located below the thermostat housing ...has a three pin connector attached to it...this controls your shift, speedo, cruise control and it costs 60 bones at www.1aauto.com just type in speed sensor on their search thread Before buying a speed sensor, try resetting first. Before starting the car, push sport button on the console gear shifter, start and let it idle for 30 to 60 seconds, turn off engine and restart the car. Try several times. If they dont do the fix, buy the sensor
Will a 1998 accord transmission fit a 2000 accord?
It will but you have to be sure, if its a v6 to get a v6 too, if its a 4 cylinder you have more options, you can go with a 98 to 02 transmission, If you have no luck finding one you can go with a Prelude transmisson.
Here are some codes you can use in your research:
F23 = 98-02 4 cylinder Accord
H22/H23 = US and Japan Prelude
F20B = European Accord SIR
J30 = US 98-02 6 cylinder Accord
All F and H series motors and transmissons are interchangable.
Good luck.
Head gasket bolt torque specs for a 93 Honda accord?
Tighten the bolts in a pattern as such; 8 6 2 4 10
9 3 1 5 7 So if you were looking straight down onto the head, the first bolt you'd tighten would be the center one, closest to you. The second bolt you'd tighten is the center one farthest from you. The 3rd would be one left for middle closest to you, 4th would be one right from center, farther from you...Make sence? Tighten them all in that sequence, to 29 ft-lbs. After they are all tightened in that order, start from 1 and tighten them all to 51ft-lbs. Then finally, tighten them all down to 72ft-lbs. Make sure to follow that order every time. If a bolt makes a wierd noise while you are tightening it, loosen the bolt, and retorque it from the 1st step.
