Why Might a 2002 Hyundai Accent Check Engine Light Stay On?

I have a 2005 Hyundai Accent and have had the check engine light come on and stay on a couple of times requiring me to take it to the garage to have it checked and the light turned off. The problem seems to occur whenever I back the car out of the garage to get out my lawn tractor - I start the car and back it out and turn the car off, so the car is only running for a couple of minutes. When the garage tested the system to see why this occurred it registered "misfire". My garage attendant suggested that I leave the car running for a few minutes rather then just backing it out and shutting it off. I have been driving it around the block before shutting it off and the light has not come back on.

Where is oil added in a 2001 Hyundai accent?

If you need to add engine oil, you'll need to remove the cap that has written "oil" on it, that is placed exactly on the valve cover (the big plastic cover that has written "12 valve SOCH (or DOCH" depending on the model)). I you want to add oil to the transmission there's two options, if it's an automatic transmission you will find a small cap close to the transmission mount and the dipstick. It might be red or black. If it has a manual transmission you will need to remove a bolt that is placed on the front of the transmission case, you will need a long funnel in this case.

How do you replace rear brakes on 99 Hyundai Accent?

Replacing the rear brakes on a 99 Accent is not hard but takes some patience.

1) Block front wheels, place rear of car on jack stand and remove rear tires.

2) Ensure Emergency brake handle is in the down position. (off)

3) The drums can be removed now but may require some persuasion. 2 main things can happen to prevent removing of the drum easily. The first is rust between the hub and and drum. A few taps with a hammer around the edge and on the face of the drum will usually break it free. If not you may have to hit the face where the tire mounts to with a bit more force. Watch for the drum to wiggle. If this still does not work you will see a couple of threaded holes in the face of the drum. They will be metric thread, most likely 6mm x 1mm pitch. You can find these bolts right on the car. At each door there is a bolt holding the check stop to the frame. use them and replace when done. Take a couple of spare bolts and thread them into the brake drum and they will push against the hub pushing the drum off. It most likely will not just fall off. If you can see the drum wiggle but it won't come off it is hung up on the brake shoes. As the drum wear through normal use it the shoes wear a groove into the drum a leave a ridge that the shoes get caught on. I have always been able to get the drum past the shoes with a little gentle prying.

Take a close look at the brake assembly brfore taking it apart. Take a picture of several with a digital camera from several angles. Do one side at a time.

First take a look at your new shoes, they are not all the same. You will notice the lining is in a different position. This is on purpose, it helps the shoe grab the drum, honest.

Now look at the old shoes on the car and match the new shoes with the old and keep track of where the new shoes go. Front vs Rear.

Now look at the springs, you have 3 diffrent springs, 2 long and 1 shorter.

One of the longer springs is just under the Wheel cylinder, the other is down at the bottom and the third is on the self adjuster. Note the spring under the wheel cylinder is wound with a very unique pattern. It is not symmetrical. Note it's orientation, make a sketch, take a picture. Note the position of the other 2 spings and how they attach to the shoes and in which hole they attach.

You can now remove the springs by grasping one end with a paior of needle nose pliers or a proper brake tool and extend the spring slightly and pull the hooked end out of the hole in the shoe. Does not matter which end or top of bottom first.

Npw that the three spings are out out the shoes are held in place by a retainer spring on each. The retainer consists of a pin that looks much like a nail with one end flattened a bit. The head is on the backside of the brake assembly, goes through a hole in the back plate, goes through a hole in the brake shoe, a sping is placed over the pin pushing on the shoe, then a small dimpled disc is attached to hole the spring against the shoe, thus holding the show in place. The disc has a slot in it, you push tip of the pin (nail) through the disc, turn the disc 90 degrees and the tip of pin will seat into the disc. The easy way to get this to work is to use a pair of vise grip needle nose pliers and grasp the disc by the edges with the concave side facing towards the pliers. With one had reach behind the brake assembly and hold the head of the pin steady and get the rotation of the pin so you can push against the spring with the gripped disc and rotate the disc so you can lock it in place. It may be worth a couple of tries without the spring so you can get the idea. More later

How could sales force automation affect salesperson productivity marketing management and competitive advantages?

If you automate non-compelling marketing campaigns in an ineffective attempt to motivate incompetent sales people you are simply accelerating the pace at which the marketplace discovers the weaknesses in your offerings, capabilities and/or service and support.

Most salesforce automation (SFA) implementations I have endured became little more than spreadsheet-producing beating sticks that worried and inept sales managers use to beat more inflated pipeline guesses out of their scared, under-quota sales people that become more creative during a sales meeting than Darren Stephens explaining to his boss on "Bewitched" why there is a monkey wearing a tutu while riding a donkey in his living room.

Now the good news: "Perfect practice makes perfect." John Wooden used to stress this during his championship run at UCLA. If you create and automate tested, effective campaigns with proven "next steps" that are triggered by key events, i.e. a prospect downloads a free report or white paper or signs up for a webinar or seminar, your sales staff will become exponentially more productive and profitable for your organization.

And in sales it's all about compressing sales cycles. If you can do more, faster and better with fewer people you will bury your competition and dominate your segment and/or region in no time flat.

How do you get the window crank off of a 2005 Pontiac Sunfire 2-door if there does not appear to be a clip?

How do you replace the headlight bulb located on a 2002 Hyundai?

The headlight bulbs have clips that hold them in place. You have to push the clip, which sort of "L" shaped to one side or the other slightly, to unlock it and the rotate it away from the socket assembly. The lamp on the drivers side is a bear, you have to remove a plastic cover then get the battery out of the way. You can't even see the thing until you do that. Good Luck!

Additional information regarding the headlight clip (added 8/18/08). First, remove the plug. When looking at the clip, one side appears to have a screw attached, the other does not (tight 'U'-shaped handle). I believe the 'U'-shaped handle is on the outside, or the side furthest from the engine/closest to the wheel. The following has two parts. First, put your finger on the U-shaped handle and press firmly toward the front of the car. Second, while still pressing foward, move your finger up to clear the "clip gate" or "ledge" (I think this is what the original author described as being 'L' shaped). This will release the free side of the clip. It will still be attached to the "screw" side. Swing the clip out of the way to access the bulb. After the bulb has been replaced, push the clip up and over the clip gate and back into place. Replace the plug and you're done!

Additionally, (added 02/13/2010), once you have removed and replaced the bulb itself and are now battling the clip; if your clip has come completely loose and you can hold it in your hand (like mine did), you must FIRST put the "square" bend in the clip behind the screw and washer, so the "straight(er)" end of the clip goes UNDER the bulb and the POINT is above the bulb and pointing up.

Once I had secured that "squared" part of the clip behind the screw and washer, and made certain the "pointed" bend was pointing up, I used long nosed pliers to get the "ear" of the clip to fit into its slot. You need to be able to see very well and have the body of a contorionist to do this, so if a limber teenager with good eyesight is handy, try to enlist his/her help!

I finally figured out the correct orientation by removing the cover on the other headlight and examining it carefully, then duplicated that one on the side that needed repair.
