Rene Descartes invented the Cartesian coordinate system and the idea of the x-y axis. He used the coordinate system to express equations and formulas visually through slopes and lines. He created a slope for the equation, rather than the equation for a slope.

*I'm not sure if this is true but he supposedly thought of gravity because he was sat under a tree and an apple fell on his head. He though that something must have cause the apple to fall and so came up with gravity to explain it.

Computers are universal tools; we can use these tools to improve our lives in a variety of fashions. Humanity has already implemented computers in daily use items from calculators for assistance mathematics to automobiles for transport.

The past is important to us because there are so many memories. In the past you could of had memories of happiness or pain and they are experiences we don't want to forget.

The Archimedean or Archimedes Screw is a large spiral screw revolving inside a hollow, tight fitting cylinder. It was traditionally hand operated or wind operated by a windmill, and used to raise water efficiently by transferring water from low lying bodies of water into irrigation ditches.

Archimedes invented the screw because there was a hole in one of the ships and water was leaking everywhere. He used it to lift the water up from the boat and through to the other side.
