How do you change the alternator on a Mazda mpv 2001?
I am not sure about the 01 but the 2000 is very time sensitive and requires extensive knowledge in cars to me the best way is if you have a car lift that would work perfect but if you dont you will need to get the car up high enough so you can work in comfort first you need to take the passenger side tire off after that you will have to take off everything connected to the cv axle and drop it out of the way then take out cv axle and move it out of the vehicle careful not to lose any parts and then you can begin to work on the alternator the first time we did this it took us 2 weekends the second time it took a whole day about 9 hours
hope this helps
Its is the Theft Control System (TCS) light. While it normally indicates some security/access issue, sometimes it lights up due to failure/sticking of the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve.
Where is the Fuel filter location on a Mazda mpv 2000?
I couldn't find one on mine so I went to the dealer to buy one and he said there is no filter other than the screen in the fuel pump. Makes sense since the owners manual does not specify a replacement.

Where is the EGR valve on a 2004 Mazda Mpv?
How replace the EGR valve on a 2004 Mazda MPV? I have been trying to replace the EGR valve of a 2004 Mazda MPV and I have not been able to loosen the nut. The nut is located in the rear side of the valve whish but is extremely stuck and I have been using different tools without any success, it won't even loosen just a bit, even using W-40. Can somebody help me with this case as soon as possible, or a way to clean it without having to replaced it or take it out.
How replace water pump on '90 Mazda MPV Minivan?
i have a 93 mpv and i have to do the same thing you. You have to take alot off. Such as the fan, and radiator.
Then you would have to take the timing belt covers off. i believe the timing belt must come off also cause to screws from the timing belt are holding the water pump in...a lot of work...
Most of the time you get coolant on the timing belt, this can weaken it. Plus as long as you are in there, unless the belt was recently replaced, go ahead and change it too. It will save you another repair later.

How do you remove the power window motor and regulator from a 1993 Mazda MPV?
Remove the door panel. Remove the plastic door seal carefully. Keep it to reinstall. Remove the speaker outside metal panel, 4 bolts. The speaker needs to be unplugged, 2 pin connector.
Unplug the regulator connector on the bottom left door hole. There are some white regulator hose clamps that can be pinched and removed.
There are 2 screws in the motors "L" bracket that hold the glass in. I could get to them through the holes in the door. I had a helper hold the glass.
There are 4 bolts to remove on the bottom center of the door that hold the motor. There are 2 nuts directly up from it that hold the metal rail in place. Remove these, then swing the motor up and out of the hole left from removing the speaker bracket. Your new window regulator should come with new hose clamps. I compared the locations to the old one and moved them so it would match the hole locations. Mine were off quite a bit.
What does it mean when the hold light starts flashing on a 1994 Mazda mpv?
The hold light is a warning indicator. Essentially, the flashing indicates that there is an electrical problem with the transmission.

Can you replace a Mazda B2000 engine with another Mazda engine?
You can put another Mazda truck engine in place of the original. Now it does not matter if it is out of a automatic or manual transmission truck. The 1986-1993 are interchangeable. The things that do matter is if the truck is has a b2200 or b2600 it has a different ecm (electronic control module) the computer which is made specifically to run with those engines due to sensor and if it is carburetor and or fuel injected. So if you want to upgrade the engine to the b2200 the engine harness going to the ecm may be different but NOT sure (myself) on this .However if you do go with the newer engine it will require the ecm for a b2200 truck .I suggest checking with a local Mazda dealer to see if the harness is compatible it probably is but checking is a good idea. There is not much difference in the b2000 to b2200 in terms of basics the only real difference is cubic inches the 2000 is 1998 cu and the 2200 is 2184 cu.Unless someone else has knowledge other wise this is my suggestion.Hope this helps and if I left something off or incorrect may others correct my post.
Completely remove the inside door panel. Since the window is down, the two screws that hold the window glass to the regulator should be easily acessable. Remove these two screws. Disconnect the regulator from the window glass. Push the window glass up to the very top. A bungy cord can be used to hold the glass up while the motor is being removed. Hook the bungy cord to the top of the door. Hook the other end to the bottom of the window glass.

Had the same problem with my 2003 MPV. It took the dealer a week to determine there was an underlying electrical problem and to correct it. At one point the mechanics were blaming a bad solenoid, but I never got a straight answer to the cause or what all was done. In the end, it sounded like it was a known problem and ultimately it was covered 100% under warranty.
Had the same problem with my 2001 MPV. I would like to know what the underlying electrical problem was and find out the cost to correct it as mine is no longer under warranty and spending a lot of money to diagnose and fix the problem was not an option for me. My solution involved purchasing a device from Canadian Tire. I apologize I can't find the box giving me the exact name and model. However it is a device designed to protect your battery from discharging and work as an alarm. It comes with an electronic Fob which allows you to electronically disable the battery. Designed for theft deterrence the power interuption allows the solenoid to disengage and for you to remove the key. The annoying part is that you lose your clock and radio settings each time. The upside is that it only cost $45 +tax or so and you get the security benefits. For me it beat the cost of the diagnostic alone. I also used it on another old vehicle which had some kind of short that would keep discharging my battery eventually killing it and rendering it unchargeable. It solved this problem for me as well. Diagnosing electrical problems tends to be very expensive and I don't think most mechanics really have the skill or experience to do it well. If they do, it is extremely expensive and cost prohibitive.
