Not sure on your exact model, never played with it... but since it's almost certainly OBD2 - you'll need a reader to plug in and it should have a 'clear error codes' button. HOWEVER - You must find out what is causing the light to trip (the same code reader should tell you) or it will just keep tripping. The scanners are about 130 bucks, but you maybe able to rent on from an auto repair place. Or have them scan it for you!
How to time a Mitsubishi mirage engine?
You'll need an inductive timing light. Connect to the battery, and clip the induction lead over the #1 spark plug wire. Start the car. The timing mark on the crankshaft pully will appear stationary when you point the light at it, and should correspond to the timing guage(mounted on the timing belt cover). Look on the emissions tag in the engine compartment to determine the correct setting. You'll need to loosen the nuts that hold the distributor , so you'll be able to rotate it. Watch your fingers, tie back your hair, and avoid loose fitting clothing! What year is your car, and what is the timing recommended on the emissions tag?

The PVC valve is located on the driver side rear part of the valve cover. It is screwed into the cover with a black hose coming from it. You just need a wrench to un screw it. Don't cross thread the new one going back in. Thread in by hand to start.

I have a 1.5l. have been 117mph in it, Full on parallel E-Brake parked,Have gone around a turn fast enough for the back end to start coming around (55-65) Too sketchy at 65. Beached it. Trailed it. 93 octane,regular oil changes,head gaskets(2) on a count of high rpms. I'm sure the little thing will keep on chugging for another 200k.
