Where is the voltage regulator located on a 1995 Mitsubishi montero located?

Modern alternators almost always have their voltage regulator attached to the back of the alternator itself.

Most often it is combined with the brush holder so you could say it's "built in", however that is not strictly true as it is removable without dissasembly of the entire alternator.

Unless I am mistaken the Montero alternator is of this design. You should NOT expect to find an external voltage regulator anywhere on one of these vehicles.

Hope this helped.

Why is your 1991 Mitsubishi Montero leaking water on top off the transmission?

OK I just went through this myself with my 94 Montero LS 3.0 and at first I thought it was the transmission leaking because it was picking up some residual tranny oil and it was reddish in colour however when it started to turn green I was perplexed... I traced it, which was difficult to do because of the proximity of the firewall to the back of the motor and I found it was coming from behind the motor and below the intake manifold in a cavity through which a coolant transfer tube runs into the back of the water pump(which is mounted on the front of the motor behind the timing chain). "Hint" I also observed that when the car was slightly slanted toward the front the coolant would run out from below the crankshaft pulley in front of the motor. This transfer tube water pump connection had a failing o-ring and after I took off the water pump I noticed some rust around the bottom of the pump seating surface sooo it could have been leaking there also. Anyway the water ran through the cavity out the back of the motor and ran over the top of the transmission.

Hope this helps

Where is the dipstick for transmission located on a 98 manual Mitsubishi Montero?

locating the dipstick on a manual trannyIf, in fact, this is a manual transmission you are asking about then the answer is "there is NO dipstick on manual transmissions".

Only automatic transmissions have a dipstick. Manual transmissions have a plug in the side that must be unscrewed to check the fluid/gearlube level. Note, also, that 4X4 vehicles also have a transfer case bolted to the back of the transmission which has it's own level hole that must be checked as well.

The fluid/gearlube should only be up to the bottom edge of the hole (make sure the vehicle is on a level surface. The theory is, if you pump in the fluid/gearlube until it runs back out, then wait till it stops running out, the level will be perfect and you can put the plug(s) back in.

Hope this helps.

Where can you find a gas sending unit for a 1988 dodge Raider or a Mitsubishi Montero?

I have a 1989 Dodge Raider with 3.0 L V6. My sending unit was dust. The "Pump and Pipe Assembly" (which includes the sending unit) is available at my local Mitsubishi dealer (not Dodge dealer) and is part number mb598094. They want $772.68 for it! If you've got to have a new one, there is a dealer at www.ricartmitsubishiparts.com who will sell the same OEM part for $579.51 if you do the entire transaction over the internet. There's a company that rebuilds tank sending units in Ohio. It cost me $9.60 to ship it to them UPS and $95 for the rebuild. www.fuelsender.com Good Luck. I have a 1989 Dodge Raider with 3.0 L V6. Where is the IAT sensor located on a Mitsubishi Eclipse?

if you are trying to find this to make more power by upping your fuel mixture by tricking that sensor i am telling you its a bad idea. you really are not going to make any real power, contrary to popular belief, especially if you are an N.A. motor. if you are trying to find it for a real reason it is on the back side of the intake plenum closer to the passenger side of the motor. it has a grey plug and what will look like a threaded nut and nipple that attatches it to the plenum. honestly if you are trying to trick the ecu with that sensor you are going to regret it later on. in all actuality if its a turbo car you should even be worried about something that insignificant spend the dough get a boost controller and youre good. if its an N.A. car nothing you can ever do short of a motor swap or a heap of nitrous will ever make that car fast.

How do you remove a stuck oil filter on a Mitsubishi Montero already tried the screwdriver-through-the-can trick and shredded it?

That trick is no longer valid as the filter's walls are pretty thin and almost guaranteed to get what you got. It will take a little creativity and perserverance to get this thing off. Channel locks would be my next weapon, tryng to get as close to the base of the filter as possible. Just shoot for a little turn at a time or more shred action will happen. I would be happy with 1/8" of a turn at a time and get a new grip. Post your technique you succeeded with. To avoid this in the future though, apply a little "Door-eze" to the rubber seal that will contact the oilfilter housing. This stuff is bee's wax and will not affect the seal, just make it WAY easier to remove the next time. I do it on every filter change. Cost? about $2 from your local hardware store.

What is the best grade of oil to use on a 3hp Briggs and stratton lawn edger?

Use a straight 30wt oil of your choice. It does depend on if it is the old flat head valve engines, or the new over-head valve engines, which is because of the new EPA laws....all flat heads use 30 hd... the over-head valve engines 10-w30, although prefrence is your own, Briggs & Strattons oil is actually Mobil 1, ( I seen that when I toured Briggs & Strattons factory while working for Central Distributors of Briggs.) Briggs & Stratton recommends the use of SAE 30w detegent oil with an automotive rating of "SJ" or higher when ambient air temperatures are 40 degrees or higher. Under 40 degrees it is acceptable to use a 10w-30 or 5w-30 depending on the weather, but air cooled engines run hotter than liquid cooled so check and change oil frequently. It is also acceptable to use a SYNTHETIC 5w-30 oil year round, but the oil must be changed as often as regular engine oil.

How do you retime 1994 Montero LS 3.0L?
