Where is the location of the ECM in a 2000 Maxima?

The ECU is located on the floor directly behind the radio. You do NOT need to remove the glove box, dash, or vents to access it. There is a black plastic cover with 2 round plastic snaps that cover the ECU. From the driver's side, the cover is directly beside the gas pedal. Pull on the cover to remove it, and there is the ECU. The ECU has (4) 8mm screws that hold it to the mounting bracket. Then it slides out towards the passenger's side.

Changing cabin filter for Nissan maxima 2002?

How to clean or replace the in-cabin microfilter The in cabin microfilter should be cleaned/replaced once a year or every 15,000 miles. The filter came standard on '02-'03 Maxima's and was an option on '00-'01's. Even if your Max doesn't have an in cabin filter, you can order one from Courtesy Nissan or your local dealer. All 5th gen's come with the cabin filter housing and plumbing. However, the replacement filters are made out of a different material then the original filter and must be replaced when dirty instead of cleaned. # Determine if you Maxima is equipped with the in-cabin filter. Check for this label in your glove box:

# Remove screws around glove box

# Pull glove box toward you. Retaining clips will release. It takes quite a bit of pressure to remove the retaining clips so don't be alarmed.

# This picture shows the plugs disconnected, however, DO NOT DISCONNECT these plugs. Instead, remove the two clips (in the lower left hand side of the picture) that attach the yellow air bag plug to glove box housing with needle nose pliers. This will allow the glove box to fall down far enough to allow access to the filter.

Remove glove box bulb housing by twisting counter clockwise.

# The filter housing is now visible - It is the white rectangle in the center of the picture. Remove the black clip and the bottom of the filter housing circled in red with pliers:

# Slide the filter out of the housing. My filter was pretty nasty looking for a 1yr. old car. A ton of leaves and bugs fell out when I removed it.

# Dip and stir the filter in warm soapy water if it is the original or replace if necessary.

# Rinse filter

# Allow to air dry

# Reinstall filter and reassemble glove box.

How do you reset the anti theft device on a 1994 Nissan Maxima?

Ok, need to take down the steering column underpanel.

Then you want to ground out the factory alarm disarm

wire.

Normally, you would insert the key in

the drivers door, turn left, then right

to disarm and reset it. If yours is malfunctioning,

you can disable it for good by doing the following:

The FACTORY ALARM DISARM WIRE IS

lt.grn/blk/ sil dots |-|anti-theft module,

The Anti-theft module located to left of steering column.

Says Theft Warning on module.

Once Located, splice into this wire with

a similar guage wire, and put it to

a solid chassis ground. This terminates

the alarm functions entirely.

However, at this point, this car would be exceedingly

easy to steel, so I suggest you get an aftermarket

alarm system to protect it from here on in.

Have a good day.

Can you show you you need to replace your knock sensor where is is located on a 97 Nissan Maxima?

The knock sensor is located in the valley between the cylinder heads underneath the intake manifold. If you look in on the driver's side, it's the little black sensor with wires coming out. The connector for it is by the front cylinder head (follow the wires). They say you have to remove the whole $%^&ing intake manifold at a labor rate of 4 hours to get at it. I've found posts where people say they've gotten it out with extensions and u joints. Good luck, the dealer wants $900

What is the correct tire pressure for Nissan Maxima 1997?

It depends on what kind of tire you have but typically it's 40psi max. The manufacture puts the tire pressure information on the body frame on the inside of the driver door. Usually the front two tires get about 2-3psi more than the back because of the weight of the engine. I drive the same car and put 35psi all the way around.

What would cause a 2000 Nissan Maxima to turn over but not start?

I had the same problem with my 2000 GXE...it just died suddenly..I used a hand held scanner and it turned out to be a camshaft position sensor about $ 80.00.It's very easy to replace,it's located on the front cylinder head. Looking at cylinder head (near the radiator)follow the camshaft location (with your eyes) towards the left, you will notice it on the side ,it only has one bolt and one wire plug. very simple fix. I hope that this is your problem. Good luck. jal1948@aol.com

Where is the flasher located on a 1993 Nissan Maxima?

Remove the passenger side access panel. The turn signal relay is on a bracket about 6" to the right of the steering column. It is grouped with a larger unit, a "door lock timer" (about the size of a bar of soap, with two cable harnesses). The combined unit is held with two Phillips screws. The blinker relay (cylinder about 1" x 2") is on the back side of the bracket and has a single harness (3 pins). This relay slides off the bracket for "easy change" (after all the disassembly).

In my case, the relay was fine. The turn signals had stopped working because I had removed the Bose stereo system, which required unplugging the 4-way flasher. This flasher is connected with the turn signals, hence the problem. 4 hours later, felt kinda stupid, but at least I got it fixed "at home".

You have to remove the 2 bolts from the floor and 2 from high on each side of the seat backs. The tricky part is then you have to put the armrest down and look for 2 small plastic caps covering bolts that are sometimes tough to get out. Then the seat should come out.
