On a 2003 sierra the ac blows cold on driver and hot on passenger side What would be causing this?
I had it happen on my 2006 with climate control when it was new and under warranty. There are two electric actuator motors in your hvac system.. which in my case necessitated removal of the two front seats, the center console, the entire dash panel and pretty much everything in the dash, to get at. The one on the right is particularly buried, and the one on the left, didn't require much time or effort to fix at all. My problem was intermittent.. if you switched driver's side to hot, and the passenger's to cool, and then adjusted one or the other, something wouldn't work right and I had heat on one side and cold on the other until I cycled my key once or twice.. and then it would all of a sudden adjust.. and stay stuck in the new position it was, even if you adjusted it again. So the bottom line is, these actuator "doors" are actually electric motor controlled "doors" inside your dash, that, if faulty, will give you the symptoms that you're describing. I assume that particular design hadn't changed much from 03 to 06.. and I'd imagine would be very similar whether you're using the electronic climate control module, which mine has, or the resistive model, which is only two slide swithches. Gm's technical description to me at the dealer, and on the repair invoice (paid through warranty) was "actuator motor, right hand side" and "actuator motor, left hand side"
Where is low pressure valve to put in 134a on a 1999 Oldsmobile intrigue?

How do I fix a 1999 Intrigue horn that's not working?
Check for voltage at the horn connector. You'll need a test light or multimeter (and a helper to push the button). If you have voltage at 12V or higher.. get a new horn. If not, check the fuse and the relay. If those are okay, too I'd take it in to a professional.
The answer is in your question. If the "power grounds are good," then the obvious answer is that there is an "open" conditon in the circuit that is supposed to provide power to the sending unit. There could be several possible causes, but three which come to mind are: 1. A "blown" fuse which is indicative of another problem which would be a short or overload in the circuit, or 2. A cut, broken or "pulled" apart conductor [wire], or 3. A harness connector which has become disconnected, or rendered inoperable by corrosion inside on the contacts. j3h.
What is the diagram of the spark plug firing order for a 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue 4800 series?
Firing order for 98 Oldsmobile intrgue: 1-6-5-4-3-2
Where are the spark plugs on a 2000 Olds Intrigue?
If it is 3.5 liter v-6, they are in two spots. The first three are in the front of the motor. The second three in the back. They are under what is called the"ignition coil cassette". Right in front of the cover that says 3.5 liter is a piece that is about 4-5 inces wide with another piece on top of it about 2-3 inces wide. On the right of this piece you will find some wires plugging into it. The 3.5 liter does not have actual spark plug wires. The wires goto this cassette and this cassette lays on top of the spark plugs. There are seven screws to this cassette, four on top and three on bottom. Once you figure out the front, you will find the back set. However the back are a terror to get to. I had to replace all of the back plugs by feel. I could not see them. !!
How much AC coolant does a 2000 Oldsmobile intrigue have?
When you say, "AC coolant", I suspect that you're actually referring to AC refrigerant. Coolant (aka antifreeze) flows throughout the engine block & radiator, nothing to do with the AC sytem. The refrigerant is also know as R-134a Freon. The AC system capacity for your 2000 Olds Intrigue is 1.85 lbs. For proper charging, however, you'll need a set of gauges to properly charge the "high side" & the "low side". If you don't have gauges, I'd hire it out to an auto technician.
How do you change the lights on the instrument panel on 00' Oldsmobile Intrigue?
Disconnect the battery. Probably not actually necessary but better safe than sorry now days. Remove the 2 Philips head screws holding the plastic beauty ring around the panel. Remove the beauty ring. Remove the (4) screws holding in the instrument cluster. Carefully pull the panel out and turn over. The lights are sticking out of the back and just turn out of the socket. Replace lights and reverse removal. Its not a real big job.
The lower driver side dash panel also needs to be removed to expose the bottom (2) of (4) screws that hold the instrument cluster in place. The dash panel is held in place by clips - just pull carefully, left driver side first.
If your Steering wheel column is adjustable, then adjust to lowest level as this will help with removing the instrument cluster. The instrument cluster has a rear protective cover that is held in place by multiple ABS/plastic clips. Carefully undo all of them to expose dash light sockets (5) that are color gray. Replace with 192 OEM or 168 bulbs (substitute - maybe brighter) from local Auto Part Store. Hint: replace all of them if you have come this far.
I am not a mechanic and I did it, but the credit goes to Floyd1022. Thanks!
What is wrong when the service engine soon light comes on and truck is running rough?
When the service engine soon light comes on it means the computer has found a problem, it should post a code in the computer memory.
Plug a scanner into the port and it should give you the code. From that you can look up what the code means and that will give you some idea of what the problem may be.
Where is the oil filter on a 1998 Oldsmobile intrigue?
The filter is inside the twist in cap down by the oil pan.
You can get one of two kinds of replacement filters for it.
One is a standard filter, looks the same.
One is just the inturnal filter materal that gose in the twist in filter cap w/an o ring to seal it.
There is a big difference in price between the two.
How do you replace a tie rod end?
I just replaced the outer tie rod end on a 98 ranger. The task was difficult but not impossible. You have to pull the cotter pin and loosen the bolt on the bottom of the ball joint. (mine was too rusty and stripped so it had to be cut off i used a sawzall but a grinder would be better) Then you need to rent or buy the special fork which you can get at an auto parts store. Use the fork to get the joint out of the steering knuckle. Once that's out i had to use two vice grips one on the outer tie rod and one on the inner tie rod connecting piece. Find a place to put the vice grip that is holding the inner tie rod connector piece so it is secure and you have leverage to turn the tie rod end. Remove the tie rod end and the bolt at the end of the tie rod and put the new one on at the same place they were when you took them off. You will need an alignment anyway once you replace it but you want it close so it isn't impossible to drive to get the alignment. Then put the ball joint through the hole and tighten down. Put the new cotter pin in the bolt.
How do you turn off the daytime running lights on a 2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue GLS?
This is something that if you want done permanently, needs to be done by a dealer, as they would have to disable this feature on the car.
in Canada, it is illegal to drive without DTL (day time running lights) on the car.
If you are wondering how to do this while sitting still, before starting the car, put the emergency break on, then start the car, and the DTL lights will not come on, once you release the emergency break, the lights will turn back on, making it impossible to drive with out the DTL lights running.
Hope this answers your question!
Why would your brake lights stay on even after you turned off the car on a 2001 Oldsmobile intrigue?
Probably a bad or mis-adjusted brake light switch
Where is the cam sensor on a 1999 Oldsmobile intrigue 3.5 dual cam?
I have a 98 olds intrigue...the camshaft position sensor is located around the middle polley on the left side of the engine. It has one screw. It's fairly easy to install.
The problem is the servo motor that swaps the vent door from the cooling coil to the heater coil.
Answerbefore you tear apart the dash to get to your driver side servo motor-disconnect your battery for 5-minutes, with both front doors open reconnect your battery(this resets your on board computer),then turn your car on and turn your a/c on to high with the coldest setting on both sides for dual air systems and leave the car running for a few minutes. you will feel the air cold again. there is a sensor on the passenger side that will trigger the servo motor to not move if the front door is closed. servos usually get stuck after the power was cut off. if this does not do it, have your a/c sytem checked for leaks.Answer
I have the same problem on my 99 Olds Intrigue and tried disconnecting the negative battery cable for 5 minutes. That did not correct the problem-no change. Any advice is welcome.
AnswerThis is a Dual Climate System. If you're not familiar with this setup, there's a driver and passenger climate setting. The passenger setting knob is on the right of the climate control console. If you have already properly adjusted this setting, there's a problem with the servo motor being out of the preset range for the a/c & heater doors. Every time power is cut from the unit, the servo resets the doors by doing a "sweep" from full cold to full hot maximum range. Over time the servo will fall out of range from constant full range flexing, and the part that controls the range limit must be replaced. Reseting the main module by disconnecting the battery has a slim chance of successfully fixing the issue.Answer
The car seems to do this after the battery is disconnected or looses power while the A/C is in the on position. I tried everything that I saw on the Internet. The only thing that worked for me immediately was to remove the a/c heat control unit from in the car, directly below your cars radio/head unit but make sure to turn the a/c off first or the ac/c doors inside will stay open and continue to blow heat in when reconnected. (how to do)Turn off the A/C first, take the cover off and remove the two screws, pull the unit out, unplug the wire harness and let it sit for 30 seconds. It will reset itself plug it back in and the a/c will work again, of course the put the cover back on ect..Should take less than 5 minutes to do.
I have heard a multitude of answers for this same problem which has plagued me now for almost two years. No solution has yet worked for me. Here is a laundry list from my memory as to what may be causing causing the problem.
1. Low freon. A mechanic once told me that the car will act like this when it needs a freon recharge. Such did not solve my problem, however.
2. Stuck door. There is supposedly a "door" (for want of a better term) inside the heating/cooling system that regulates temperature and/or cabin airflow. The door opens and closes according to the temperature and and dual climate settings selected. If this door gets stuck, it causes hot to blow out drivers side and cool on the passenger side. I am suspicious of this theory. Why would hot air correctly blow out of both sides? I had another mechanic tell me this one.
3. temperature sensor improperly reset. I read online that if the battery gets disconnected and reconnected improperly, it will cause a malfunction in the sensor responible for delivering the proper temp through the a/c system. The solutions posted were disconnect the battery and reconnect with negative terminal first; check all fuses that reference climate control, a/c , heater, etc in manual, remove for 15 seconds, reinsert or replace if necessary. This did nothing for me. However, I personally associate this intermittent problem with a battery reset. My wife's car has electrical problems (don't get me started) which necessitate frequent battery replacement. Everytime the battery has been disconnected, the problem starts again.
4. Computer malfunction. I also read that the problem may stem from the climate control interface itself (i.e. the thing with all of the temperature knobs and buttons). Replacing this is supposed to fix the problem. I have not tried this, and frankly, I refuse to do so.
The only current solution I have ever found is patience. The problem seems to simply disappear after a while (albeit a long while). My wife and I both have Intrigues (Gasp!). They both have the same problem(s). Nothing works for either. Good luck. If you have success post your results.
Not Much of an AnswerMy 99 Intrigue often does this, and I have tried replacing the temp control head, plus the door reset sequence (disconnect battery, open both front doors, reconnect battery, start engine with climate control on AC with temp dialed all the way down). Neither worked. In fact, the temp control head replacement was worse than what was in there, so I had them reinstall the original. I called GM tech support and got a sheepish answer that indicated to me that the hot/cold air at the same time thing is a design flaw. If you wait several minutes (if you can stand it) with the climate control set the way you think it should be, the "computer" comes around eventually. I have noticed that the AC on a very hot day with the car sitting in the sun will usually come up blowing cold air out both sides (thank goodness). Usually when you get the hot/cold it is a moderately warm day, which apparently "confuses" the thing for a while. I'll never buy a climate control car ever again.Answer

Or if unplugging the battery always remember to turn the a/c off before doing so. So that the a/c doors are shut when the system is reset. When replugging the battery they will start from the correct position and all will be fine.
How do you replace the starter on a 1997 Aurora Oldsmobile?
. There may be minor differences in the 96-99 years, this is specifically for a '95. Hopefully it's close. 1: Open hood and remove plastic heat/noise shield from top of motor (4 plastic nuts) 2: On the passenger side of the engine, near the front valve cover, you will see a small box labeled "Battery +" in red letters. Pop that cover. This is the lead to the starter. If you don't want to have to pull the backseat for the battery just remove the nut and pull this wire. 3: Remove the silencer and intake tube from the airbox (the box itself can remain). 4: Label and remove the 4 front spark plug wires. I lay them down on the hood and hold them with the wiper. 5: Disconnect the TPS sensor (side of TB, away from passenger compartment) 6: On the '95, disconnect wiring to the Idle Air Motor (96-99 have it in the TB, different wire). 7: Disconnect the wiring look for the Fuel Injectors, it's down and slightly rear of the TB itself, large round plug. 8: Disconnect the fuel lines at the firewall. You can leave them on the fuel rail. 9: Undo coolant line from underneath the TB (spring clamp) Pull off and let drain out while you work. 10: Remove all vacuum lines from TB (one large on the side, 2 small up top, 1 or 2 more i forget). 11: Now is a good time to check the vacuum port on top of the TB. It just unclips. Mine had several cracks in it. 12: Remove EGR pipe from side of TB. It bends out of your way, but go easy on it. 13: NOW check to make sure all your vacuum lines and wiring it out of the way and not going to fight you as you move the intake out of the way. 14: If you havn't already, remove the 4 studs that are the supports for both the top cover, and the hold downs for the fuel rail. 15: Remove bolts for the intake. 10mm. I believe there is 4 of them per side. I know if you have had the fuel recall done that they re-locate the FPR to the front. Right over a bolt. Just use a short open-end wrench and you'll be fine. They're not tight. 16: Some of the bolts will come out, some may not. I had 2 or 3 that wouldn't come. That's fine just make sure you have them completely backed out. 17: This part is probably easiest with two people, but one should be able do it with not to much trouble. Grab the TB mouth and the end of the intake (where the pressure-relief door is) and lift straight up. The whole unit should come up. 18: Rotate the whole thing counter-clockwise. That's with the TB facing the passenger compartment and the pressure-door facing the front. 19: If you're like me, there will be tons of leaves and stuff down there, take this opportunity to vacuum it out. Also if you feel compelled, you could clean all the intake ports too. Take rags or paper towels or tape or SOMETHING and put it over the intake ports, don't want anything down there. 20: Remove the starter with the wires still attached, this is why you removed that B+ lead before hand, RIIIGHT? It's two 10mm bolts, plainly obvious. There isn't any hidden or anything. 21: Pull the starter back and up, and rest it on the valve cover. Use a 14mm socket for the main lead and a 8mm for the trigger lead. 22: Put the wires on the new starter first, then place it back into the car. 23: Installation is reverse of removal! Also, check to see how your intake gaskets are. Mine were OK, but it might be a good idea to replace them. I know there was a marking on manifold saying it was replaced at 14k miles. I hope this helps anyone, i know the dealer will want at least $500 to do this job, plus the starter. I priced a 2 year guarantee starter at $235, and the labor took me about 2 hours.
