Getting this bumper new is not possible. You'll have to post that you are looking for one on a salvage web site and if and when one becomes available, they will let you know. You'd be better off looking for one yourself through Hemmings Motor News or Toronado groups such as on yahoo Groups. You may even have to find a core and have it rechromed. I know all this because I've had to replace mine.
Why won't the instrument panel lights on my 1992 Oldsmobile toronado trofeo work?
The problem I had with my 1990 Oldsmobile Toronado was with the Photocell located right under the defroster grill.
This device works with the Twilight Sentinel system and if it fails the instrument panel lights will not work nor the courtesy lights automatically and they are controlled by the BCM (Body Control Module) .
You can access the on-board diagnostics by pressing the climate control system "off" button and "warm" for aprox. (4) seconds.
Next check the BCM error codes and then using the "fan" up and down arrows scroll through the menus of input data and you will see a actual value of near 100% for (dark) or low 1-2 for (light) my unit failed read 4 and by covering the sensor you should see a increase in value if working properly.
By removing the failed Photocell you will see everything working correctly but your headlights will be on auto controlled by the Twilight system and on in the daylight and they will turn off once the system times out when you turn the ignition off. The system has a default value for a missing or failed open Photocell.
Replace the Photocell and your off and running once more it only takes a few seconds to pop the defroster grill off carefully and pulling the "flat" sensor straight out of its light socket. The sensor next to it is a thermistor that that is for sunsoak or heat load measurement for your A/C to compare with interior temp to try and quickly cool off your hot vehicle that has been sitting in the direct sunlight.
The Photocell retails for aprox. $52 from GM or $40 dealer cost. Good luck ..
