Can 22 inch rims fit on a 1996 Cadillac Deville?

Literally, YES, they can fit, but IT IS NOT A GOOD IDEA!!! The limit for any sedan in size would be a 17" to ensure PROPER handling and SAFETY. I know... nobody wants to hear that when their ride can look like a million bucks but TRUST ME as I sit here with physical injuries cause of a bad decision to put 18's on a 15" based wheel...horrible accident... do the right thing! Also, the tire would constantly be blowing cause the profile tire would have to be as thin as paper to fit in that wheel well! 22's are for TRUCKS!! Get a Navigator!! The price of rims now a days would be a good down payment on one!!! Actually, 22 inch rims fit no scrub with normal sized tires. 24's you would have to get a lift kit to prevent scrubbing and this is to keep normal handeling also.

Why does the change oil light stay on even after i changed the oil?

2001-08 Silverado, Less Driver Information Center

These models are equipped with an oiling system indicator lamp which will flash if the oil level drops below a safe point or will remain lit when the oil and filter are ready to be changed.

After changing the oil and filter, reset the monitor by proceeding as follows:

Turn ignition On, but do not start engine.

Fully depress and release accelerator pedal three times within five seconds.

If CHANGE ENGINE OIL lamp flashes for five seconds, this indicates system has reset.

Start engine. OIL LIFE should change to 100%.

If CHANGE OIL SOON lamp lights again, repeat reset procedure.

2001-08 Silverado, w/Driver Information Center

Turn ignition On, but do not start engine.

Press MODE button until DIC (Driver Information Center) reads OIL LIFE LEFT/HOLD SET TO RESET.

Press and hold SET button until 100 percent is displayed. You will hear 3 chimes and CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON message will go off.

Where is 1 cylinder on Pontiac Montana?

It is the rear head, the cylinder closest to the timing cover. General rule of thumb, the #1 cylinder is always the first cylinder, on the head that sits farther forward on the block. The only exception to this rule is old Pontiac engines.

How do you repair a Pontiac Montana 2000 power doors don't unlock?

This goes for all VIN - U GM Vehicles with-in a few years.

This is the most commonly seen cause and does not apply to every "U-boat" as I like to refer to them as.

You need to get under the carpet, right - passengers' side, front seat area.

You will need to gently pry up the sill plate, the sill plate is what holds the carpet down and you will see it with the front passenger's door - open.

Then to do it right you should also remove the Kick-panel, that's right, it's what your right foot touches when sitting in the front passenger's seat. This allows the carpet to be lifted with ease, it is also easy to break one of the 2 retainers so go easy. In colder weather its best to warm the inside of the vehicle before working with Plastic.

Okay, now just lift up on the carpet, no need to remove the seat, look for the wire harness running along the carpet edge, near the sill plate that was removed.

Most often the floor will be wet, now just start removing the electrical tape and look for splices (were 3-4 wires come together) and most ofter white colored wires but don't over look other colors, I'm thinking light-blue but can't remember for sure.

gently tug on the spiced wires, when you find a splice that pulls apart you most likely have found the reason the power door locks will not lock or unlock, (one direction usually works fine, lock or unlock).

Cut the spliced wires back and resplice them together, I use a piece of wire added to ease the soldering job, and shrink warp. Re-tape the harness and be sure it's tucked back in place After checking to be sure the locks work when using both front door lock switches - Don't forget.....the locks can be programmed to work differently with 4 modes so don't confuse this with an inop. door lock.

Why's the floor wet ? That's a different problem that needs fixing - be sure to check the a/c - heater case drain for blockage (lint)....

Where is the fuel pump module assembly located on a 2001 Pontiac Montana Minivan?

Just replaced the sending unit today and the fuelp pump is all one unit in the gas tank. There are 3 straps to lower the tank pay attention to the hoses and wires and raise the tank with a jack of some kind. Undo the straps and lower the tank slowly. Unhook hoses and wires and lower tank. Unscrew the ring holding pump in place and remove the pump/sending unit from the tank. Then put everything back together. If you are having a hard time getting wires off check sometime there is a blue pin stopping the wires from coming undone. Good Luck. Took me about an hour my problem was I had 7/8 tank of gas and it was really heavy. Try and do it with an empty tank.

Problems with door locks 2002 Pontiac Montana?

The floor is where a lot of the wiring is run. The floor gets wet due to various things..clogged drainage holes on A/C or runoff water under windshield causing water to come into the unit from the firewall. The connectors for the wires get corroded and quit working. They must be cleaned at the connectors.

How do you change the stage one O2 sensor on a Pontiac Montana?

I have a 2003 Montana. Official service manuals describe a procedure whereby you disconnect and rotate the entire engine forward, then remove various bits from the top of the engine in order to reach the stage 1 sensor from above. I gave up on that and was able to do it by jacking up the front of the van (please use wheel blocks and appropriate jackstands!), and reaching up from underneath the van along the exhaust pipe. The stage 1 sensor is screwed into the top side of the exhaust pipe, facing slightly rearward, about 3/4 of the way up. Go get a real O2 sensor socket (has a slot on the side for the wire). I guarantee that sensor will be seized up VERY tight, so use the largest socket wrench you can fit up there to get enough leverage. It was a tight fit, and I had to do most of it by feel, but it IS possible. I'm a big guy, 6 foot and I don't have skinny arms, and I was still able to reach up there. Definately use some anti-seize on the new sensor threads!

What will make a Pontiac Montana 2000 ABS light stays on with traction system light comes on and goes off?

2002 Pontiac Montana, 165,000 miles. I am the only owner. Very reliable service. Front wheel bearings have been replaced twice. Traction System OFF light came on at 155,000 miles, and cruise control broke at same time. Lived with that, but then rear brake lights went out and mechanic cleaned out the rusted rear light circuit boards, which made everything work again. Mechanic told me that rusty circuit boards are common for Montana. Mechanic suggests replacing 2 circuit boards next time for $250.

Why is your abs light on constantly in your Pontiac Montana?

Bad front wheel bearings trust me. They trip that light i have an 01 and 03 Montana and it happened with both @ around 80-100k miles. Will also kick your traction control light on if bearings are bad the lights usually appear @ the same time. Buy the bearings @ auto zone or similar discount store and try to find a a good mechanic buddy to install them if u r not comfortable because the dealer and most places will try to hose u for this job along with telling u everthing else is also wrong with your brakes. i think they cost around 100 each.

AnswerThe reason may be as simple as low brake fluid level Along with this you may want to check your braking system for leaks and the pads and shoes along with the general condition of the components listed above .

How do you take the clock in a 2000 VW Beetle off of military time?

I just asked this question, but someone helped me out, so here's the answer (I think): Turn your engine OFF, and then press the "hour" and "minute" buttons at the same time. [FYI, if you do this with the engine ON, the temperature reading switches between Fahrenheit and Celsius.]

Why won't the passenger window go up in a 2001 Pontiac Montana?

I have a 2000 and have the same issue. Could be a couple things:

1 - the window motor and regulator no longer function properly (good chance just replace them and you will be fine)

2 - it is off track and may just need a slight nudge and some wd40

3 - your "scissors" and gears are worn down and bent and need the whole things to be replaced (hopefully not it)
