The debate over the first licensed commercial radio station has been going on for years, and is something of a standing joke, but one of the very first - if not the first (and it may have been) is KDKA radio in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, which went on the air on November 2, 1920.

remove the nobs and bolts behind them, take off the face plate, then you should see the little screws holding the stario inplace. The #s are on the back .

if your gentle you can pull the cup holder slightly out and insert a small flat head screw driver inside to lift up the bottom plate of the cup holder assembly and the number is written on the front top of the radio.

I just removed the cup holder and used a small mirror (like the one a dentist uses, available at hobby stores) and a flash light to read them. You should see 2 sets, 1 begins with "MR" that's the part # and the other is the serial #. Just remember that after you write them down to reverse them.

If You Wanna Reuse The Bracket There Are A Few Screws Holding The Bracket To The Stereo. If You Are Gonna Install An Aftermarket Stereo, Youll Need To Go Buy A Stereo Mounting Kit At Where You Buy The Unit. You'll Also Need To Buy An Antenna Extension. If You Dont Want To Spend The Extra Cash To Get The Adapter For The Power/Speaker Wiring, You Can Go To The12voltdc.com And You Can Find A Wiring Diagram For The Speakers, And The Power Wires. under tha steering colum there is a metal bar and above it is a little silver box. remove both and unplug the wires from that box and those will attach to your wire harness for your new radio. just run them up through to where the new radio will go. the factory radio will stay and the new one will go where the tape deck is. just did all that to my 1990 silverado

The instrument cluster lights have their own fuse. It's a 5 amp at the bottom center of the fuse block. When the lights are on, the radio draws lamp power from the instrument cluster. This allows you to dim the brightness of the radio display with the other internal lamps.

Go to wal mart or your local stereo shop and pick up a factory plug in harness for your car, unplug your factory radio and plug in the harness, then you just wire in the aftermarket radio to the open end of the harness.....no cutting wires so you can put the factory radio back in by just unplugging the new one and replacing it

The short answer is no. They are too low in energy. But Yes there are some high energy radio waves that do hurt you. An example is microwave ovens. Their radiation is very high powered and deadly, but it its contained. Cell phone, TV, and radio waves are way to low to hurt you. There are some tests that say that long term exposure causes cancer, but nothing is proved. People say don't talk on the cell phone to long because nobody is sure if its harmful. They are just playing it safe.

As another poster mentioned, the same ones from a 94 explorer worked but with the Amp you need to hook the dk blue wire on the 8x1 plug into the blue/white wire coming out of your new stereo. Otherwise you get no sound. Its usually labeled remote wire.I would not do this without a harness adapter kit like a stingpro F-5511 or a merta 5511. Save you tons of work for the $10 you spend. ou have to pull your ashtray out and there is 2 screws in the slot where the ashtray slides in.Make sure you turn your radio off and keep the keys out of the ignition when your removing it or it will lock itself and you will have to get a unlock code for it to work again.After you take those screws out you pull the panel off and you can see how the radio pulls out.

There are fourteen 18 guage wires. They are as follows:

Orange & Orage/White: Lights & Dimmer

Yellow: Battery

Red: Ignition Switch

Blue: Remote Wire for Stereo

Black: Ground Wire

2 Greens, 2 Purples, 2 Greys, 2 Whites: These are your speaker wires and should be labeled accordingly (Front/Rear-Left/Right).

There are two sets of RCA cables:

Yellow goes to your auxiliary, such as an iPod jack.

Grey goes to your amplifier.

Sound waves travel through vibrations. If one particle starts vibrating it will pass on that movement to other particles that are close by. This means that sound travels quickly through solids as the particles are closely packed and readily pick up movement from their neighbours; it travels less quickly through liquids as the particles are close enough to pick up vibrations but not tightly packed like they are in solids; sound travels slowest through gases (weird, but true - even though we rely on gases to pass on the sounds we make in speech) because their particles are much further apart.

If there are no particles - like in a vacuum such as you'd find in space - then sound can't travel at all!

First check all fuses, there should be two: one inside the car under the dash, most commonly in drivers area; and the other is under the hood.

If your fuses are good, and you can pull the stereo, take a multi-meter and measure for 12v at the wiring harness.

Chrysler radios are notorious for having bad power switches too. These can be costly to replace.

It is easy to remove the FM radio. You may have to 1st remove the ashtray. Then using either a L shaped or curved PIC tool pry the plastic frame off which encompasses the radio,and temp controls. Be careful when prying the cover not to dent nor damage the soft dash board around the plastic cover. You may have to pry farely hard to release the hidden clips holding the cover in place. By using the PIC tool slide it under one spot of the cover to find 1 of the 4 or 5 hidden cover clips then pry to release the found clip from its corresponding clip hole in the dashes frame. Repeat for the other clips then hang the cover to the side which is still attached to the cig lighter.Then remove the 4 bolts holding the radio in place. Pull out then unhook the two wire harenessesfrom the back of the radio. When hooking up a different radio try to obtain a matching wire hareness connector so as not to cut the orginial in car wire hareness.
