I also assume the vehicle is still pretty new and has very low miles, which is why you mentioned "returning" it. Basically, you cannot return a vehicle. It's not like buying and returning merchandise from Wal-Mart. You must sell the vehicle. The dealer from whom you purchased it might be willing to buy it back, if it's like new, or perhaps you could trade it in for a different model.

When you lose the bill of sale the first step would be trying to locate the owner. If the owner can not be located, the following step would be to file for abandoned title.

You have several issues here. If you plan to drive the car in California it must be registered there, but your Military stautus exempts you from certain fees. If you plan to drive the car straight to Florida you may obtain a "One way Trip" permit from the DMV. On arrival in Florida you must register the vehicle there. DMV forms may be downloaded off the DMV website. You may be required to also submit copies of "Proof of Insurance" and Current Smog Certificates,Some States require a Weight Certificate (except Deisel motors) If you bought the car from a Dealer they can handle all these requirements. If you bought from a private Party you may be required to go to the DMV to obtain and pay for the oneway trip permit ($15). Most states have a "quick title" or otherwise known as abandoned vehicle title service through the vehicle registration department in your state. They should be able to advise you. Another way to find out is to call a salvage yard and see hoe they title abandoned vehicles. You can use a lean-sale company to initiate a lean on the bike in lieu of theoretical storage fees. When the bike defaults the lean it is issued a new title in the lien holder's name (you.) For expensive bikes it takes about 3 months. For less expensive bikes it takes about a month. The lien sale company charges about $75-$100. You can also initiate the lien yourself but the process is a little more difficult. The waiting period is to see if the actual owner of the property steps up and claims the bike, or contests the lien. They send notification to the address on the last title holder. If the bike has been out of the system for more than 5 years (California), registration information is dumped,k but they should still have the title holder on record. You still have to go through the lien sale process even if the bike is not registered with the state.

That would depend upon state laws and how the car is titled. Generally if a vehicle is titled "John Smith and whomever" then the vehicle can only be sold if both agree or by order of the court. If the title reads "John Smith or whomever" the car can be sold by either person. This would not apply in some instances, some examples...pending divorce proceedings, legal action by creditors, or probate procedures, etc.

Do you mean how do you buy an abandoned car or how do you find an abandoned car?? You can buy an abandoned car thru a car auction...find the nearest place by googleing for a auction house nearest you or calling some used car lots if there is not a listing.

How do you find an abandoned car?? First call the police and file a report. They will give you the name of one or two (if not more) towing companies that picked up the cars and store them. You can call around, find the car and go redeem it. Good luck!

It depends on the door and the car. Some use specially designed shims, others slide and are adjusted by loosening the mounting bolts while others still are carefully "bent" as needed to adjust the door.
