What grade of oil should be used for a 2001 Saturn L300?

That depends on the condition of the engine. Generally, use the lightest grade oil that will keep the oil pressure up. Follow the manufacturers recommendations but if the oil pressure falls too much when the engine is hot, change to a higher viscosity oil. I use 5W15 in ours.

How do you replace a coilpack on a 2002 saturnL200?

How do you check the transmission fluid in 2002 Saturn l100?

You can not check the transmission fluid on the 2002 L200 or L300, due to this transmission is a sealed transmission. I bought my L200 new and this is one of the new transmissions Saturn was using from Germany. My question at this point is when does the transmission fluid need to be change. Mine has 100k miles plus. I have a chiltons manual on this particular model and this manual gives very ggod directions on how to change the fluid, filter etc. But when. Is 100k miles time to change the fluid and filter. Now I know where to get this answer, call our local Saturn dealer and ask the question.

How do you get the driver side window up in a 2000 ls Saturn up if the button doesn't work?

Take the swith and door panel off - get to the motor of the window, find the live wire and "Hotwire" it using a live wire running from the plus terminal of the car battery. Do with care and patience.

How do you replace bent valves?

This is not an easy or cheap job... It requires removal of the cylinder head, this basically means taking off the top half of the engine!

you will need to drain oil and coolant, undo all sensors to cylinder head, disconnect exhaust from head, remove timing belt etc.

once you get the head off you need a valve spring compressor to squash each spring and remove the collect's that hold each valve in place.

You need to lap in each new valve before carefully rebuilding the head with new valve seals.

Then you need to put the whole engine back together again with new gaskets and sealants and new head bolts.

I would also advise a new coolant thermostat, timing belt and timing belt tensioner. Possibly also a new water pump. As if these go faulty it could mean you bend your new valves.

new oil & oil filter, and new coolant.

Not a job for a novice or for the faint hearted!

How do you turn off alarm on a Saturn SL2?

I've been wondering that myself. I'm having a problem with my door locks. I have the same problem with my 1999 Saturn SL2 model. It has electric locks with a remote keyless entry. I went to lock my doors as I was inside the car, driving, and all 4 locks seized up and began clicking. A day later, I can not use my remote entry thing nor can I unlock or lock my car from the inside. The alarm system prevents me from locking the door, but even if I did, the locks would still click and they'd all wind up unlocked before the day is over with. Even if I manually lock the doors from the inside, the locks start clicking and by the time I get where I'm going, they are all 4 unlocked and clicking away.

If you've gotten answer, please respond to Sacrificialclam@aim.com with "SaturnSL2" in the subject. I can't afford for Saturn to look at it. They'll charge me $95 for a service call only to tell me the problem is going to be expensive to fix. The guy at Saturn told me that you couldn't turn off the alarm system. I'm betting you can.

Has anyone had a 2001 Saturn with an intermittent starting problem though it usually starts up fine after waiting 15 minutes. Any ideas?

My 2000 Saturn does this sometimes and it has to do with the security system. If you hit the lock button with the trunk or a door open, the security system shuts the car down and it won't start for a few minutes. You can either wait or you can pull out the fuse and put it back in. It happened to me twice and now I'm just really careful. Not sure if this is your issue, but .

When replacing the throttle position sensor switch will you have to re-adjust the throttle body?

On the cars I've worked on, you don't have to adjust anything. Sometimes you have to rotate the actual TPS and then screw it in once it's resistance is where it should be... but I don't see why you would have to do anything to the throttle body itself.

How do you replace a cabin filter in a Saturn L series 2000?

its in the owners manual but on average i would say once a year , or as required for example if it becomes contaminated with something.

The filter is below the cowel (the plastic cover with many little holes) right bellow the windshield, covering the space between engine compartment and the windshield.

You will need to partially loosen up the windshields bottom trim on one side(either driver or passenger) Then start pulling tho cowell off-it will just come out all...And there, in this little covered area, is the cabin filter and on passenger side also a rubber boot(cover) for PCM- this does not need to be touched! Oh! You will first need do disconnect the windshield wipers and unscrew the 2 larger plastic nut around the windshield shafts, which holds the cowel down.

Blower motor location 2003 L200 Saturn?

The blower motor is located under the windshield cowl. You will need to remove the wiper blades, the plastic cowl assembly. Careful with the cowl, they break easily. There is plastic cover to to the right of the cabin air filter. Under that cover you'll find the blower motor. Saturn tech here by the way.
