What is the difference between a 530 and 530A Stevens double barrel shotgun?

The main difference between a 530 and 530A Stevens double barrel shotgun lies in the manufacturing period and potential design improvements. The 530 model was likely an earlier version, while the 530A may have incorporated updates or enhancements to the original design. It is important to consult specific documentation or a firearms expert to determine any nuanced discrepancies between the two models.

On a Stevens 311 20 gauge side by side is there a way to tell if the chokes are full or modified?

yes, I have a 311a double barrel 20ga and the left barrel is a full choke and the right barrel is modified. I also have a Springfield 511 double barrel and the chokes are the same on it. If you look at the end of the barrel you can tell one of them is slightly smaller and that is your full choke, that would be the left barrel and the right barrel is modified. I hope that helps. Of course, if they are improved and open there will also be a difference in the measurements. Just take it to a gunsmith and ask him to check. If he has the gauges, it will take him less than a minute and he probably won't even charge you for it.

Did H Spencer r co make a double barreled 12 gauge hammer shotgun serial number 14718 any info.?

The Spencer Gun Co. made guns for Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Co. of Chicago, Il. These guns were actually manufactured by the Crescent Fire Arms Co. of Norwich, Connecticut from about 1892 to 1922 with "Spencer Gun Co" as a brand name. They were good quality insexpensive single and double barrel shotguns. This is not to be confused with the Spencer rifle fo Civil War fame which was manufactured by the Burnside Rifle Co in 1865 or the later Spencer Arms Co. of Windsor, Connecticut who manufactured the first successful slide action repeating shotgun from 1882 to 1889.

How much is a Baker 12 gauge double-barrel Batovia Special worth?

All depends on condition and gauge. Range from around $200 for a low-condition 12ga, to $600 or so for a nice 12ga. Smaller bores add substantial value. We are always interested in nice Baker shotguns. sales@countrygunsmith.net

Does any one know old German 22 long rifle single shot with a marking on top of breach that says mod 1 and a logo in the stock that is a small L linked to a large S who made this gun and how old is it?

What is the value of a silver 6-shot 32 caliber Harrington and Richardson revolver serial 66900 patented Oct 4 1887?

I have the same exact gun passed down to me from my godfather. I took it to a reputable gunsmith to see about having it re-plated and he assured me that the cost of re-plating the gun would far exceed its value. This leads me to believe that these guns are of great value only in the sentimental arena and not so much the resale arena. The serial number on mine is 1471. I would be interested in finding out what the model number or the reference name is so I could look into getting some replacement parts. Sorry to deliver bad news to you but this is the case with a lot of these old pistols like this. I could be wrong, this is just what I have heard from some people that I trust.

What is the value of a J Stevens Arms Co side by side 410 two trigger stamped Chicopee Falls Mass USA patented April 20 1915?

Does anyone have information or know where you can locate information about an English shotgun maker called Fred or Frederick T Baker of London?

A little bit of information only. There was a F. T. Baker listed as a gunmaker on Fleet St. in London sometime during the mid to late 1800's.

This little tid-bit of info. came from the book "Sidelocks & Boxlocks" by Geoffrey Boothroyd.
