Why was the feudal system important to William the Conqueror?
because the king [William] needed to give the barons the land and then the barons will give it to the knights the land if they work for them.
Because it gave William more power so that no one could turn against him. He found out that it was fair when he gave the barons land and then the knights worked for them. The peasants had to give their crops to the knights so it was a fair trade.
Because William needed to show everyone that he is trust worthy and mighty. if they thought he was weak they wouldn't care for him as a king. land in those times showed your wealth so in order for people to like and respect you, you should have money and land(also be religious). Why has the county buckinghamshire got its name?

Did William the Conqueror get shot in the eye?
Answer 1:
No sorry, he wasn't shot in the eye. Instead Harald Hadraada was shot in the eye by one of the Normans archers on horseback. "but what about Harold Godwinson?" He was already dead after previously fighting Harald Hadraada
Answer 2:
Sorry you're a little mistaken here, your source for the arrow to the eye incident is the Bayeux tapestry, a Norman inspired production, depicting the battle of Hasting, intended for Bayeux in France. It was constructed in England and shows Harold Godwinson shot in the eye (but also trampled by a horse which has led to some ambiguity with regards to how he actually died). Hardraada was driven off before the battle of Hastings at which Godwinson was present; he did not die before the battle of Hastings.
Hope that helps!

How many current English words are derived from Anglo-Saxon?
One must first establish how many words are in the current English language. But whereas many people do not count plurals, or the different tenses of verbs, simply the gerund, some do. I have adopted the first, purist approach, and counted neither plurals, nor tenses, participles, etc. On this basis there are some 250,000 words in the Oxford English Dictionary, which is generally accepted by scholars as the definitive reference.
The composition of modern English is as follows:
It is clear that this composition is by its very nature a rough guide, since the percentages given add up to 102%!! But it is a useful rule of thumb. "Native" English is also an interesting component. What does it include? Linquistically English is a Germanic language of the Indo-European group. Does "native" English reflect that? After all the very term 'Anglo-Saxon' is derived from German. And what about the historical implications? For in the time when Anglo-Saxon was in use, not all of the inhabitants of England spoke it. In the North, Northumbrian was spoken. English evolved from Anglo-Saxon/Northumbrian, to Old English, including Norse and German derivatives, to middle English (with it's French and Latin influences), to Modern English which dates from Tudor times. The number of pure Anglo-Saxon words is therefore impossible to calculate.
